The ringing high notes are amazing, but it's the slow, sustained decrescendo on "splenderà" starting at about 1:28 that made me start yelling "OMG!!!" at the screen. Phenomenal vocal control in service of phenomenal musical sensitivity. What a talent!!!
Close your eyes...and you are listening to .. Pavarotti....incroyable...les merveilles de chants lyriques sont cachées au public général..bravo Monsieur...le monde est à vos pieds...pourquoi cet artiste est -il pratiquement inconnu ????
I's very rare that a voice makes me cry. I'm a tenor myself and I've heard countless uninspired and uninspiring renditions of this. This may be the first time the aria affected me this way. Such a rich, warm, ringing and expressive voice with a confident, healthy (from what I can tell from this) technique. I hope to hear you in person some day soon. Just saw that you'll be doing Radames at the Met. Congratulations!
BRAVISSIMO!!! This is one of my most favourite renditions of the aria - the precision, power and passion are magical!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!
I had chills from beginning to end!! 1:26 “splendorà” is such a masterpiece of control of this gorgeous, cavernous, resonant voice to produce such a soft and tender delivery. My god, I’m in tears.
Also just watched this clip and tenor for the first time and wow! I was also moved to tears! What an absolute incredible voice!!!! Beats every single version of Nessun Dorma! I have no more words except that it's just amazing! This tenor should be in every opera house and theatre around the world!
I have heard every major tenor of opera sing this, some in person. I have heard none better than this, despite imperfections in the audio recording. I am astonished!
I listened to this after reading the January interview with Pulliam in the NYT. However familiar "Nessun Dorma" is, it always gets to me--and the absolutely focused, determined passion of Pulliam's delivery here just about made me burst into tears by the end. I sincerely hope there is never again a pretext for this man to have to deprive the world of his voice.
How could I not have known about Mr. Pulliam? This performance lifted me out of my chair and made me cry at the same time. Bravo, bravo! Looking forward to your bright future now that you've returned to where you belong.
This is the first time I'm listening to this tenor!! I was just looking through some RUclips videos when I came across Mr. Pulliam's performances. What more can I say? I'm blown away!!! This is a great, huge, heroic voice in the tradition of big, weighty tenors like Mario Del Monaco, Jon Vickers and James McCracken. The tenors of today have much smaller voices that get lost in an orchestral and choral sea when confronting heavy roles like Otello, Calaf, or Rhadames. Tenor voices like this are as rare as hens teeth!! I will seek out Mr. Pulliam and try to hear him as often as I can. He could be a new giant of opera!!
If this does not pull on your soul when you listen to it I am afraid you are a hardened soul and I am sorry for that. I am a big fan of Luciano Pavarotti and you belong in that category Limmie Pulliam!! Bravo Sir, just BRAVO!!!. And thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with the world.
OH. MY. GOD!!! Words fail!! But I'll try... The power, placement and tone of the "bocca" in "sulla tua bocca lo dirò" (despite the "tulla" instead of "sulla") was simply heaven sent. I was already sitting up in my chair. But immediately following that with the delicacy of the pianissimo on "splendera" - which lasted forever, and was beyond glorious - are a combination beyond the capabilities of many of the best. While the absolute fearlessness shown by actually taking a few steps forward before the " Dilegua, oh notte" was remarkable. His way of saying, "I got this! Watch!!" And by God, he did!! Just brilliant! And I cannot conclude without commenting on that final "Vincero!" GOOD LORD!! SIMPLY STUNNING!!! I was genuinely weeping before he ended the note! I had not expected to be floored by the sound he produced! It was sublime! Dare I say, no one has destroyed me with this aria since Luciano, my late friend and former colleague. That tells you all you need to know. Such artistry, technique and intelligent singing in one performance are incredibly rare. I just discovered the RUclips clip of him tearing up during his solo curtain call after the Met's recent "Aida." Watching his pure emotion was beautiful and incredibly touching. To receive that much appreciation, on that stage, where the best ever have done it, must have been an overwhelmingly moving experience for him. The stuff dreams are made of for every aspiring singer. But now, this man has me crying too! Bravissimo, Mr. Pulliam! I will remember your name. Moltissime grazie.
My brother sent me a link to Mr Pulliam's rendition and as soon as he started the opening "Nessun dorma, nessun dorma!" I knew this aria was going to be renewed. He makes the opening more than sound like an introduction. It is heartfelt, powerful and prepares you for what is about to come. How he manages to make this aria sound easy is gobsmacking. That richness and elasticity is captivating. Bravo doesn't cut it so I'll go with utterly stupendous.

He is excellent, I agree. But...he is not Mario Lanza. Sorry. Overall, 4/5.
It is inconceivable that this voice isn’t singing in every major opera house in the world!
Last year, Limmie sang Radames at the Met!
He’s so big he just might do it all at once
Bravi Tutti! That was amazing!
WHOA!!! What an instrument he has!!! And he plays it so beautifully and intelligently.
Wonderful voice

you are deaf
This man is blazing a trail for opera to be inclusive for EVERYONE and we’re here for it❤
Mi sono sempre chiesta perché scarseggiano cantanti d'opera afro americani o africani: è assurdo.

Sir, your instrument is magnificent.

Oh my God what a beautiful voice this man has! His rendition brought tears to my eyes.
What do I know about opera? Nothing! I do know that Mr. Limmie Pulliam is the real deal! That voice! The sound! Magnificent!
How can such an enormous voice convey refinement? How can even the most gentle of phrases be delivered by such power?
The best tenor of this era. Phenomenal voice.
wow. This the best I have ever heard. Beautiful, passionate and simply perfect.
No words just an overflowing heart of emotion. My god.
RUclips cannot do justice to this amazing voice. I saw Limmie last night at Madison's Opera in the Park. I was amazing!
Took my breath away. I'm so glad he is now enjoying his beautiful voice.

He sang Radames last year at the Met. He stopped his career for 12 years because of body shaming.
Never mind the chills, I started crying at the end! DANG!
whew!!!!! Thats all I got! Simply Stunning
Diooos miiioooo !!!!
What a treat to hear a genuine dramatic tenor - so rare today! Thank you
Wowwwwwwww❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sang Limmie!!!
Very rare to hear such a full bodied voice
I have heard every major tenor of opera sing this, some in person. I have heard none better than this, despite imperfections in the audio recording. I am astonished!

He debuted at The Met last night as Radames in Aida. He was splendid!

I'm crying and I've had my hand over my mouth for 3 minutes after listening to this. Completely blew me away.
Just one of a handful of musical talents who are native to my hometown in Southeast MO.
