My wife and I were homeless till march 11th of this year. Its a hard thing to go through. We are in Nova Scotia Canada. Was in a tent from September 27 2023 till March 11th. My wife is 62 and has Parkinson's and other health issues and I have health issues as well. It was hard. Thanks for doing what you do man

@@allisontaylor1818 thanks, we are living in a camper trailer for now in the south shore, with running water but it's not good to drink so we've been boiling it but I drank some yesterday and a little today that wasn't boiled and I have bad stomach cramps. We have heat, electricity, full kitchen, no oven but a toaster oven but a lot better and safer than in a tent in Dartmouth Encampment. But with no vehicle it gets hard to get anything and living on disability income assistance we can only afford to go to town with the transit service they have here once a mnt so we ran out of drinking water

Russia is not stopping at Ukraine as they have future plans for Poland, Finland, Estonia and others. Western countries all have their own government intelligence agencies reporting that same thing. Just horrible for the man and any family and friends he may have had. NO ONE deserves to leave this world like that. Ontario is failing our people HUGE. When ppl are being relocated to Ontario given more cash than ANY resident can ever qualify for. Being forced to live in whatever type of shelter they can build or their cars etc all whole many are TRYING to keep working and doing all they can to survive. The time is NOW to change these systems and we shouldn't be taking anymore ppl in until Ontario are given the help they need so NO one else pays with their lives. May he rest peaceful 🙏🙏

The government are people too. Nobody is perfect.
After my wife and daughter died, I became homeless because I was lost for a long time. But society blamed me for it. And then I I was diagnosed with Parkinson's and the situation just got worse. I saw so many people for whatever reason, never recovered from what they were dealing with. And today so many people continue to be on the streets even after taking advantage of the available resources. Which usually are nowhere near enough to help anyone.

The Parkinson's is getting worse. Anything short of a cure and there's nothing anyone can do. I miss my family every single day. I reside in an ALF in Florida. But it's getting too expensive for me to stay after this month and I'll be homeless once again. But this time I'll be 68 and with this terrible disease.

Thank you for at least looking in on him. My cousin and best friend was homeless and in a tent like that, she would have died because of an abscess in her arm. She was febrile and couldn’t walk, talk and near death. I had to take her to tue doctors and fight them to treat her. She was a known IV user. The treatment as though they are less than human is humiliating. Just one person showing they care can make a huge difference.

With all the inflations with housing and apartments and food pricing, how does anyone except us to survive. Jobs aren’t paying people to survive unless you have an education or a high paying job. How are we suppose to live in society today. People end up homeless because of this. I’m talking from experience, my rent is going up $400 more and I can’t afford it from the wage I’m making. Soon I will end up homeless and it scares me. The city wants to tare down his home, where do they expect him to live and survive. Things need to change in this world and we need to help each other. You know what the problem is? Our governments want to help the illegal immigrants over us especially here in the United States. I live in Portland Maine and the mayor is trying to make it illegal to be homeless in Portland Maine. If my city didn't care more for the illegal immigrants then they wouldn't have such a problem. The worst thing I ever witnessed was a homeless person overdosing inside a storage unit. Shoved in a tiny corner going into shock. I had to pull her out and lay her down on her side before paramedics arrived. I still think about her today. I feel so powerless. 😭

Terrible. I'm glad that you found the individual when you did. Even if shelters have space, some people won't go because of safety concerns. Some opt for -50°C in a bus shelter versus going to an emergency shelter. It's very heartbreaking. We need permanent solutions. Not bandaid solutions.

And go to the homeless spots to check on people daily I can’t tell you his many life’s I have saved or have to call emergency services because the people are deceased our families, cousins kids brothers sisters, etc. passing away is sad and he sent me that you have to live with forever caring Narcan in your vehicle no matter where or when you have to use it cause there is always what if thank you for all you do

I'm sending my prayers that he is doing better but by your video I fear he isn't I have worked with the homeless for several years in a shelter for women and with limited bed space there forced to live on the streets it's heartbreaking because there women and they are assaulted either by there spouses or others the only thing is our shelter is on a first come first serve basis but we have Ladies that have been there for years who can't afford to get a home of there own some are very ill some don't know how to start the process of getting income it's heartbreaking every day to see this💔💔💔💔

I worked in a hospital for 35 years and met a lot of homeless people and we would call a shelter and if there was a n opening we would put them in a cab and send them, I’m not going to tell you how many of them refused to go because they get robbed, abused, beaten up, their property stolen. They said they rather sleep on a train, train tracks in the streets. There was 2 that we would let sleep in the corner of the waiting room if it was empty and by 6 am they would have to leave. My 1st experience is when I was 11 years old and there was a guy we called Paco and he slept on the corner every day. There was a terrible snowstorm and they found him 2 days later frozen. It hurt so much cause he was so friendly and kind to all the kids.
There’s enough real life situations going on in the world that there is no need to go out LARPing .

I was homeless for 3.5 months the council refused to help me and my wife. We got no temporary accommodation just slept in the car during the heat wave. I was going through abuse from childhood, and opened up when I was 27 to support services that got us out by calling police to due to the risk to our lives and human rights. We where told we would only get support if we left the house. Once we left with them, the council told us we willingly left the house and don't meet the requirements to be housed as a result. Imagine they told me to quit my job and I refused. Of course I still wend back to work and eventually moved into a place on rent. But now I'm paying debts as a result of financial abuse a debt that's not mine. So much more going on so many more challenges that my wife doesn't even know about. Pray it all works out for me my wife and my son.

What i don't understand is why were they going to demolish his place. To be honest where he was located he really wasn't hurting anyone. He was cluttering up the street or squatting in someone's home. He was actually secluded to where he wasn't an eye sore for anyone. But truth is when you end up on the streets like that, homeless and maybe no one to even acknowledge your existence in your own mind you become depressed. You always wonder why you even bother living. Nobody's going to care if your gone. It makes taking your life an easy task. I feel sorry for the guy. Nobody should have to live on the streets.
With all the money you put out there open up a shelter for these home to have a place to go, ask for donations. I will donate I will help in anyway I possibly can..

I’m sorry for whatever you had to witness. I’ve learned the past few months that there is nobody to help, nobody cares. I live on SSI because I can’t work. I literally can’t use my hands. My fingers are drowned because of arthritis. My husband had a stroke in December and thankfully he made it through but he’s not who he was. He has short term memory loss and lots of other issues. He can’t take care of himself much less work. His meds are so high and they keep denying him disability. My landlord has raised my rent to $900 so if I can’t get help with public housing I am facing homelessness. I was the soccer mom who worked hard until my body just wouldn’t let me. I was the one who jumped in whenever help was needed. On free weekends we were the family making food bags for the homeless in down town Chattanooga. I would have never thought my life would be what it is now. Honestly I used to think that “them” people better their lives if they wanted to. Now I know that for some it’s not that easy.

I feel your pain and frustrations. Me and a lot of other's too tried to help the homeless. Our city in Fayetteville NC told the homeless not to set camp in the city and our county did the same. Instead assigning a area where they could pitch tents they were pushed around.

I want to thank you for your kindness toward us who are houseless. I am one of the blessed ones. I am 68 non druggie nor do i drink. I have no mental problems. I live in a van with my 85-pound pitti in the good ole USA. Again, i am blessed. i am retired, so i receive a retirement check as well as Social Security. The problem is the cost of housing. Yes most
likely i could get an apartment, and I've been there done that. To be honest with you, i am safer in the woods than in the city. All i can say is 8:08 am grateful for what i have , my mind, my dog, my van, as well as my wheelchair. Continue following your purpose. I know so many people out there that have nothing.
This is such a devastating state our province is in. I work everyday with folks on the street in Ontario just 2 hours away from Toronto, side by side with our most vulnerable community members. The things I have seen in encampments, on the streets and in my work place is heartbreaking. This is a dire situation. We need more affordable housing, more shelters, less stigma and our folks on the streets deserve homes no matter what.

I’ve lived in Ontario for 42yrs and have never seen the homeless crisis be where it is sadly at now. Recently, our city had bus loads of homeless individuals shipped here from Toronto with nowhere to go. They set up a homeless community in the forest near my home and within weeks it was torn down. My son was applying for geared to income housing and was given a 24hr wait!!!!!. Unbelievable!

wish the same here in RSA re shelters. I am 54, lost everything after divorcing an abusive man and are having coronary artery disease, heart failure, diabetes anxiety and depression, been living on the streets for some time now.

Iv been homeless and I was on the streets for a week straight but I was having a mental breakdown and I would not let family help me but I was sat on the floor with a quilt over me and peaple came upto me and gave me money and food without me asking since then iv accepted the lord into my life I pray most days and my life is now turned around don't give up tomorow is another day it won't be like this fore ever u just have to keep going stay strong ❤

I pray that he is ok. Thank you for caring. As to people that just want to complain and be negative, we all have the right to feel as we do. If you feel it is scripted and put on, don't watch it. The off or cancel button carries a lot of power. I have always said that society is in the toilet. We all make up society so, we can all do our part. I can't afford financially to help but I do try to be nice and respectful to others. If I see someone that looks like they need help, I offer to help if I can. You would be surprised how often a kind word or even helping someone load groceries in the car is aporeciated. Not everyone is receptive to help. Then you just move on with no ill feelings. Try respect and kindness when dealing with others. I understand that everyone may not deserve it or want it but there are so many that do and welcome it. Take care everyone! 🙂
It is awful the world we live in these days. Everything is so expensive, wages are so low, taxes keep going up, social assistance programs are a joke because the government doesn’t give a damn. It’s sad. I am seeing people who have money are just getting greedier, those who are living paycheque to paycheque do what they can to get by and the rest are just lucky if they can even afford to rent a damn room. Shelters are too full and more and more are living on the streets. I don’t recognize this world and it makes me so sad. Thank you for the good you do and try to do!

I help as much as I can in my city. It's awful most of these homeless people don't have any family and it's hard to on them. I have been in tough situations myself so I understand how easy it could happen to others.

My whole life has been turned upside down within the past month. I have had allegations against me that go against everything I stand for! Police and social services kicked me out of my home because they would rather listen to online trolls than listen to what I have been saying. Basically they have called me a pedophile. I'm not allowed to see my son nor be in the space of others even by being supervised. I have thought about topping myself on more than one occasion. I'm depressed no one to listen to me. In the UK it is no different. Still get treated like shit, still looked down on even though I done nothing to hurt my boy and these people who think they are saving children are actually causing more issues so now I'm homeless I hope these people are happy. I have no family left. Dad recently passed away. I can understand why people top themselves when It gets to hard. Thank you for reading 😢

This location is right by my house! I never knew there was someone living there, but i have an idea who it was since there was always a man at that light right off the highway asking for change😢
So sorry this man is struggling.... people are dying and nothing is being done.... in one month i lost my dad to addiction, my husband to robbery/murder and my mother in law to su!cide and at least once a month sometimes more someone i knew have died from overdose.... i my self and on the verge of homelessness and it terrifies me ..... i dont know how much more i can handle and i know there are many people out there in way worse positions than me and i feel for them..... somethings gotta give soon because canadians really can't take much more

I know that you live in Canada, I'm from Portland Maine and im currently homeless and the city mayor is trying to make it so that it's illegal to be homeless in Portland Maine. You want to hear something messed up? The state of Maine donated 3.2 million dollars to illegal immigrant housing only. Since these people have been coming to Portland Maine as refugee's, it has taken a toll on the homeless. Our shelter is run by immigrants and they like to lie in their reports and make up lies and accuse US of being racist and their reports are not reviewed or questioned whether or not they are telling the truth. I can assure you that these staff are lying about everything they say about any American they make a report on.
