  • This is a video I took just last Saturday at dawn inside the Gettysburg National Military Park. Turn speakers up to hear ghost sounds of cannons, musket fire and multiple gun fire. Keep in mind I was alone, the park was quiet except for the birds, and no wind. I did not hear these sounds until I replayed the Video.

I was there in early May of this year. At around 6:45 on a Monday evening I was at the Triangular Field near Devil's Den. There was nobody around and it was a very peaceful spring evening. As I'm standing there enjoying the scenery, I heard what sounded like disembodied yelling and shouting. It seemed to be all around me, yet I was alone. I saw a tour bus parked by the base of Little Round Top, but saw no other tourists. Besides, I really don't believe people visiting this hallowed ground would be yelling like that. I wasn't scared or even uneasy. Quite the opposite. I just wanted to stay there and see how long it went on. Finally I got into my car, and as I drove through the Rose Woods, the Wheatfield, etc. there was nobody around. I'm convinced what I heard was the soldiers who fought and died there.

Thanks for posting this. I live near Gettysburgh, and I can tell you that upon visiting many times I have heard both cannon fire and the sound of horses right in the middle of town. Strange but true! Sadly enough it's like they are trapped there. The men on both sides should be respected.

When I camped there as a kid, we heard horses neighing and jangling of equipment on them all night long but there were never any horses kept around. Never really freaked me out though, surprisingly enough

After taking a second listen I do hear a volley of musket fire at the 59second mark and some yelling again at the 105 second mark. Re-enactors are not allowed inside the park under any circumstances and she was deep enough inside the park to of heard hunters (which would of been on the outskirts of the park). Great catch. Again, another paranormal catch early in the morning.

Re-enactors were there for the 150th anniversary, though.

Reenactors are allowed in the park for scheduled events. I was there this past weekend and I could hear them from Little Round Top very clearly. I was standing about 100 yds away from where she is standing. This is also the very bottom of the park. She is very close to the southern boundary so could easily hear things outside of the park. Stop just posting bullshit.

These sounds really give validity to the stone tape theory. The battlefield lies on rock such as granite and limestone which are believed to magnify spiritual energy. This sounds residual, the closest to hearing an actual recording that loops itself over and over.

Been there many times, that exact spot, that part of the battlefield is my favorite part. I think people are trying to hear and see things that aren't really there. Although I do believe in the soul and that our energy does persist after we leave this mortal coil I have never seen or heard any evidence of ghosts there. Realize that if these spirits exist they must have moved on by now. But I will keep an open mind to the possibility and continue my treks around there.

Myself and my entire family heard the sounds of cannon fire right at that same spot for quite a while a number of years ago, it was coming from the woods all around us. It was winter time, no reenactments, no tourists, it was black powder cannon...very distinctive. Apparently, its a common thing out there. There are no artillery ranges in the area to my knowledge. My young son heard it first and thought i was crazy for not hearing it too (i tried to tell him it was a car door, but he wasnt buying it), then i started hearing it, it got louder, then my moms husband, then finally, my mom. It wasnt faint, it was loud and we confirmed with eachother each time one went off and from what direction. I trust my ears. If someone doesnt believe it, no problem, I'll just tell you nevermind, it was nothing and we can go on our way. I know what we heard so i tend to believe this woman likely heard it too.

I believe that in infinite universes, there's always battles happening in exact places at the same time throughout history, and we hear what happened in battles from other universes which are constantly being created. So in every universe where time is offset from ours we can detect faint traces of, but the universes that started at the same time as us can't be detected yet because the "stuff" that holds our universes together is vibrating at a similar frequency to theirs and so we only really get deja vu. With each new universe, time slows down.

I am very very late to this post, however I had an experience at Gettysburg many years ago. We were traveling, it was early morning and unplanned, we decided to stop at Gettysburg. It was very early, there was no one there, except a few locals doing their morning walk near the Gettysburg Address momument/walkway. I was with my husband and as we were walking around, I kept hearing heavy gunfire. I at first thought there was a re-enactment going on (I just read within these comments that they aren't even allowed there). I kept hearing the gunfire and then it occurred to me that they wouldn't be shooting that early in the morning. I asked my husband if he heard it, and he looked at me like I was crazy and said no, he wasn't hearing any gunfire. I actually stopped a woman that was walking if she heard it, and she said no, she didn't hear anything, but she kinda of laughed like she wasn't that surprised by my question.
I've had other experiences with hearing things from "beyond the grave", but that was my experience at Gettysburg

We praise soldiers for their service im Vietnam even tho that was never supposed to be anything we got involved in. We say thank you to the founding fathers and the colonists who fought against England to secure our freedoms. So why can't we not say thank you to the soldiers who fought to help end slavery, and oppression?

and thanks for the vid, i was at gettysburg battlefield once at sunset, and while i didn't hear or see anything odd, i did feel a cold energy shoot right through my solar plexus and staggered around for a bit afterwards

I suggest wearing headphones for a video like this. Do not let the wind fool u into believing it’s cannon fire. I have been a paranormal investigator for many years. I’m sure there r many residual hauntings on these battlefields including gunfire and cannons but u can tell the difference in that and it being windy.

The musket fire at :59 is pretty cool. If you're sure there wasn't anyone around then you just may have captured the battle that never stops. To the right of you along the tree line I saw bright flashes of light. My 12 year old daughter also saw them and I captured one on video. That was really bizzar to see something like that. It was as if someone was in the tree line with a flash camera taking pictures but there wasn't anyone there. I don't know how to explain it.

if people are hearing the sounds of shots being fired and people giving orders, then what have been termed the honkings of geese, given that veronica says she didn't see any, and that these sounds are at the volume of the rest of the battle, rather than louder like the birdsong, would indicate that they are rebel yells of the southern myrmidons
which in itself means these would be the psychic echoes of what was a desperate pitched battle being fought tooth and nail to the very death

I listened to it again today and there is a loud musket shot at :59 then a lot of voices and at 1:30 if you listen closely it sounds like "Let's Go!"(I hear voices after the musket shot for a long time almost the entire time you were filming) I really liked your video although I know you were trying to get a response I think you were talking too much and I could hear your feet crunching as you walked around, please do this again maybe less talking and less movement?

I know I'm late chiming in but I just found this video and I have to applaud you on your capture. However, you didn't catch just musket fire, my dear lady... you caught movement!!
At 2:34, immediately after you say Maryland, you pan by a rock that looks like it has a broad wet streak running down it. As you're panning by, at least two "apparitions" can be seen walking by the rock in the opposite direction you are panning. Also starting at 2:39, watch closely the small pine next to the maple tree. You will clearly see something white walk past it. AND (can you believe it!!) at this same time, virtually right in front of you are two dark shapes that were not there when you panned past that area at the beginning. Your perspective is only off about five feet on your second pan. Not enough to say these two dark figures on the opposite side of that brown bush directly in front of you where hidden on the first pan. You weren't alone!
    Awesome video!

This is tricky. Because of the fact that ambient background noises from different spatial directions will all merge, what you could easily point out as natural at the scene may sound strange on playback due to the microphone not making the same distinctions as the human ear. It would depend on the type of microphone used in my opinion, as different microphones are designed for picking up sound from certain directions. I assume this is the built-in camera microphone, which means the quality is low because of the faint sounds we are dealing with.
With that said however, I definitely hear what everyone else is pointing out. Although I fail to distinguish any actual sentences. What I hear sounds like someone barking out orders, or in a loud voice explaining the plan or situation, which might be consistent with the junior officers on the field with the men, or perhaps a sergeant addressing the formation. I am not convinced that the sound at 59 seconds is a firearm discharging. To me it almost sounds as if the videographer accidentally banged or hit the camera's mic, or something actually coming into contact with it. I am experienced where firearms are concerned, but a period musket is probably not going to sound the same as a modern firearm. Similar, but not identical. Factor in the low quality of the microphone, which means that the sound we hear is not reproduced 100% accurately, and it is definitely hard to tell. I could be wrong, considering that the woman shooting the video seems to hear individual shots at the scene, or at least a noise that sounds somewhat like a gunshot, depending on how experienced she happens to be with hearing weapons firing. If she knows what a gunshot sounds like, and that is what she heard, then the only logical explanation would be that a gun was discharged. Would there be someone shooting at that particular location? I doubt it, unless there is private property nearby. So it would be either a paranormal sound or a real shot, as long as there are no re-enactors around. Given that so many unexplained phenomena have been experienced on this battlefield, going back many decades, it would be foolish and even arrogant to claim that a paranormal explanation is out of the question. There are definitely strange things going on there. One question I have for the woman who shot the video is how far away the gunshots seemed to be? Did it sound close, but faint, or did it sound distant and maybe a bit louder, or something else? Also, if you happen to make a video in the future where your goal is to pick up paranormal sounds, I would ask that you not talk. I don't want to be rude, I mean it IS your video and all, but it just kind of throws off the whole audio clip considering that your voice is going to be of a much greater magnitude than the surrounding noises, which are the noises that we are listening for. I had to turn down the speaking parts and then turn up the sound to hear the ambient audio. Just a thought anyway. Thank you for taking the time to make the video at least, even if it is not definitive. No paranormal video will ever be definitive though, considering that there is not a way to ensure that it is authentic. As technology gets better, this problem will only get worse, since it becomes easier and easier to manipulate "evidence." I highly doubt this particular video has been manipulated, rather I am just saying that this is the case in general.

only mentioned the camera glitching at 1:00 right after the loudest cannon shot, because many times cameras malfunction during paranormal activities....batteries drain, static comes on, and sometimes the equipment dies in the altogether
