Ellen Leifer for the national poetry slam, you have to be a part of a slam team from a PSI certified venue. You can go to poetry slam inc's website and there is a list of venues that are PSI certified. You would go to one and compete throughout the season and hopefully make a team. Then your team would go to the national poetry slam in august. You can also sign up to be a volunteer, and you get a discount on your ticket purchase.
