Connor Thompson he is in a tree at a luxury lodge baiting animals 15 feet away, calling it hunting. If you all respect that, your parents did a horrible job raising you.
I have a huge issue with baiting anything you're "hunting". Might as well go buy meat at the grocery store at that point. It's the equivalent of fishing at a trout farm. There's nothing really to congratulate here. They dumped a bunch of fish parts in the woods, sat around until the inevitable bear came looking at what the smell was and they shot it. Sorry for being "that guy" but I just don't see the sport in that.
I would agree if the success rate was near 100%. In my state, likely 95% of bear hunters bait, but the success rate is still fairly low. Lots of factors like competition between other baits and natural food sources, bears only coming in at night, etc. After tagging along with guys who've baited, it changed my perspective. Plus, it's not like there are many other options in that type of terrain. It's not good habitat for glassing, spot and stalk, or even calling for that matter.
But, again, that's part of the "sport" of it. Tracking down the hard to get animal. There are plenty of options, especially in the area where they're at (Canada) where the black bear population is huge. They're on a lake, they could simply glass the shoreline of the lake or find open patched to watch. I just find it unethical to bait a bear purely for sport. That's why it's illegal in a lot of cases, especially when talking about other game.

Clearly you are uneducated on this topic. We appreciate your honest opinion and everyone is welcome to their own. Bears are also made of meat and humans eat meat. We have been enjoying our bear meat since the harvest of this animal. They make great summer sausage, steaks etc. almost anything a beef cow or deer would. What kind of outfitter lets someone continue a hunt, after wounding a previous animal? All hunts that I've researched before, or have been on, stated that if you draw blood, that is considered your animal and your hunt is over. Is it because black bears are considered predators? Is it because the trail camera showed a very similar bear and the outfitter believed that to be the same bear? I am not judging, but just wanted to know more details about it. Nice Bear! You know I've been a hound dogger for the last 15 or so years pretty traditional mules dryground .. before that I hunted with a bow.. After watching you guys, Cam Hanes, Deermeatfordinner and meat eater I think I will pick up a bow and start again.. not giving up the hound dogs though just take a break depending on the draw
How dare you kill a bear
Liam Frenehard shut up

Fuck off. This country was found on you see it. You kill it. You eat it. You skin it make clothes from it. Many things comes from 1 animal! Your four fathers would slap you for be a pussy!
To all the people that are hating on him go out and try to befriend a black bear people say that dogs are mans best friend but its actually bears. Go right up to the cubs and start petting them so the mom knows you're friendly
Pore bear
Poor spelling and grammar

What are you guys doing with the bear? Unable to finish watching the video
Wicked18 bowhunting it for meat, fur, and memories
I just don't understand why you would hunt a bear. If you really feel the need to kill something to make yourself feel better please choose something that will never be at a risk of being endangered
What is wrong with humans? How can you have it in you to kill animals like this? How? I literally don't understand it! Do you have to be a psychopath to do this? I just went into compound bow archery because I like accuracy sports, but all these videos and these men hunting animals... I'm so duscusted and will never watch another video.
Love the picture of the cub in the bait barrel.
that bow is beautiful😍🤤
Left handed but its nice
where is this taking place?
Almost like watching the fire bull hunt again, but with a bear😂👍🏽Nice job congrats on that trophy!
That poor bear. I know bears aren't cuddly but still I feel so bad the poor bear
Congrats! Well done Eric! And way to be patient. That is a bear that takes some people years to get. I just got through with my first bear season but no bear. Hoping to get my first this fall. Heard they taste better in the fall anyway 😛🍖
When you go down to get the bear what do you do to keep yourself safe against other bears that might be around?
There a person with a gun early on the first bear in the heavy bush,
Marius in Canada we cannot carry anything like guns or bear spray or anything of that sort. We just have to walk out slowely an stay away from the bait bc they will protect it. U just gotta punch them in the nose and run, don't go into a tree either as they can climb them too
Marius also u gotta be really cautious because they are very quite, even since they are really big they are very very quite unless they want u to hear them
What nobody knows is that this video is just a set-up for next year... Eric is absolutely going to kill the midnight bear next year. As if he is not lucky enough to have had it survive this year and still take an awesome bear, it just makes sense that it will happen with his track record!
Awesome hunt/trip guys, can't wait to see some of the New Zealand hunts, but I wish I could've been the one to go with!!
MAN soon as I saw that muzzle I had to go back and look at the first one, you are so lucky, You need to be a spokesman for Lucky Charms cereal, /////C O N G R A T S just seeing two monsters
Im not mad he killed a bear,i’m mad that he saw it had cubs but still did it.
@@yeetpotato5096 hey you 5
This looks like a blast, im not a hunter but it's probs awesome to be able to say you killed what everyone is eating at a party or something.
Start calling you two chance Chester fire bull another elk and now a great bear......... wow Amazing Eric great job!!!!
What poundage is that? Would a 65lb 30" DL carbon defiant be enough to kill anything in north america.
So are u gonna eat it or are u just killing for fun?
Solid bear Eric. What did his skull green score? Congrats!
So u let it go to waste????
Great video just getting into hunting and shooting a bow and you are inspirational
