    Yes, all true. I have'nt used a comp pedal since the 80s(with chorus). I never thought I would ever buy another pedal as fuzz and wahwah are all I need...but this box is more like a really good pair of shades that help you see more clearly and notice the detail and colour of your sound more. Subtle and transparent, it does'nt change the Guitars or amps character but "Enhances" what you already have ...almost like when you put really good strings on a Guitar , it makes you listen. Brilliant. It deserves an award.

    The highs don’t go away because they are delicate. They get drowned out because the amplitude of the bass strings hit the compressor harder so they are heard more. Are we saying the same thing?

    Wish they made this in a plug-in form for us mixer guys!!! That would a useful studio tool for any instrument! ha

    I know this may be a dumb question, but what if your guitar has both humbuckers and single coils in regards to the middle switch? I’m new to effects

      Chris Vang it’s mostly just a matter of choice. It affects the release time of the comression so you can just play with it

      Good question though.

      @DylanTalksTone  7 лет назад +1

      Yup. It just depends how you want to do it.

    it's becoming very annoying that every time i want to see ANY compressor demo all i can find is guys doing country, chicken picking licks. Compressors are not only for country. HELLOOOOO!

    Only all of these reviews fail to mention.. it was Wampler who pioneered the concept of the "mix" button in a compressor (The Ego-Compressor)... and that now all other companies are copying Wampler.

      We actually DO mention that this is not the first with a blend knob. We also mention in our written blog found here. dylanpickups.com/blogs/dylan-mckerchie is a bit different though in that it Starts at a 50/50 mix.

      the barber tone press was released around 2006 so it might be older

      With respect, not sure Wampler pioneered the concept of anything (!)...earliest blend knob on a pedal compressor I am aware of is the Barber

      Thanks for that. I stand corrected.... admittedly, I'm not a connoisseur of all pedals created and their history dates. I've just noticed a shift in the market after the Ego-Compressor where other brands that don't have a "mix" knob seem out of date.... so all brands are starting to adopt that now.

    Need a blend knob for less talking and more demoing. 😉
