This applies to the Linux "more" and "less" commands as well. more gives you page progression on keypress through a file, while less lets you scroll up AND down through the file.. so more is less than less, and less is more than more, more or less
love you guys, I truely learned many new things from this Q&A video, hope you always in good mood, work effectively and make more video like this, your viewer and follower will be very happy.
Iconic bridge in the background, that combined with your intro inspired me to play a little bit of geoguesser while listening to the video. I found your location, beautiful spot. :D
Can you upload a version of Hazel on steam and have a game jam? just so the community can push the engine limits and have fun, I've seen so many videos of it, i kind of wanna play with it 😅
Why? Why are you creating a game engine from scratch? What is your engine trying to solve that the other engines haven't already? What does it offer, that other engines do not?
Had a good laugh about the missing undo redo feature. It's worth making an episode about different styles to implement undo redo. Look how blender did it and draw conclusions
I'm curious how performant the engine is, like how does it compare to other engines, how many physics objects, render objects, scripts run time things like that.
You've done more with Physics than Godot (and they been at this since the mid 2000s), they did have it pretty good for 2D around 3.1 and 3.2 but once they started backporting features from 4.0 to the 3x version the physics got nuked. I'm looking forward to this engine, plan on working on a hero shooter/moba with this engine but will still use unity until this is released. Keep up the fantastic work my friends!
Thanks for the questions, I was definitly interested in the "is it good for beginners" question (as it was mine, lol), and you gave a very good answer! I'm now really interested in giving it a try, try to make my first game, using Hazel =D
I actually remembered that you did a video about Notion a while back, and it helped you to keep productive etc. Is this still involved in your development process for Hazel, or do you use Jira now completely instead?
"C# is fast, C like and strongly typed [and good interop with c++]" thats always such a HILARIOUS reason for c# to me no matter the engine casue at that point... just use c++?
real question, when are you going to make a real raytracing video that doesn't change less than 10 LoC? been like 8 months? I might have time to raise a family before hazel has rt, become an empty nester and all that
I see you are trying to cash in on the Unity train wreck... And you know what? I really, really hope you succeed! It has shown how necessary the game engine diversity is. Good luck :)
I don't think hes's deliberately trying to cash in on the drama. This game engine has been under development for years now and he regularly talks about it on his channel.
Tbh, i am not tempted to learn c++ ever, I've learned so far java, javascript, c#, and started learning rust three days ago. C++ is something that is, idk i dislike the header file concept ngl. If a scripting language like javascript or c# was usable, that would be soooo golden.
As a wise man once said;
Give a man a game engine and he'll make a game. Teach a man to make a game engine and he'll never stop improving his engine.

Crazy about you and your development journey! Please, more talkative videos - you are a great person to observe and listen to

Do you plan on talking about any of the Unity news since you are developing an engine yourself?
Last stream on twitch he gave his thoughts about unity, check it out! It's interesting.
I think he said during the last stream that he might also do a video discussing it
I see. I can't catch the streams because I work during the hours he streams usually.
@@absorbingdudetwitch? Whats his channel name. Edit : nvm found it its theCherno
He just did a video about it

like the analogy about creativity !
keep it going!
Would you consider a Hazel jam contest with a prize pool? Might be a good idea to get more people to try it after release.

Your baby being 19 months old and you being able to get any work done is impressive lmao
Eyyy! It's the Ångermannabron! 😊

I do think you should make a visual scripting language as a feature, but C# is just the better choice for data heavy things.
Can you do a video reviewing your own code in the sparky engine for old times sake

do you plan to support floating point determinism and fixed timestep physics (replicated physics)? I'd love to see that in a game engine.
I actually remembered that you did a video about Notion a while back, and it helped you to keep productive etc. Is this still involved in your development process for Hazel, or do you use Jira now completely instead?
Two men go in middle nowhere to talk about game engines and ends in why be a baby is so fun and what is art, the video. Good video Btw
Do you have any Augmented Reality technology supported by your engine? Vuforia or legacy?
🌩 Cloud hosting: It's not just for storing your photos anymore! ☁ This type of hosting allows you to scale your resources on demand. 💪
Such good time for you to make a game engine! Unity crapped its pants, that means the opportunity to take a part of the market is available now!
That's cool cherno
is there a release date for Hazel, the website doesn't say much in terms of that.
What if you finished the Sunday video for the 3d engine from 11 year ago?
What camera are you using, it's so clear tho >_
Is there a lot of seething from how you promote C#?
yeah
BTW what free IDE do you recommend for mac?
Did Peter spend a lot of time in America? His American accent seems too perfect for Swedish person.
Hi! Peters girlfrend here. No :) He's always lived in sweden
Day 1 of asking for a vulkan/directx 12 series😢😢😢 pleasee
Cherno , please continue Ray tracing course, to end🙏

Awww I wanted to know how's Sweden
Wow, your employee is so Swedish he won’t even correct you when you mispronounce Stockholm
Insightful video. I would like a link to that toy study if you could, please. I have a 19 month old niece ^_^
Thanks for the reminder, links now in description!
Make a Minecraft clone with Hazel, in Sweden (get it cuz Mojang is a swedish company)

Ooh I'm early :O
Yep

Can you make a copy of Unity and release it for free for developers?
"you dont need some weirdo custom language" then other one said "gdscript"
Link to the babies please 😄
In description now!
Thank you! 😄
so you assume you have an svn
Are you guys hiring? 😅

WTF are you in my country! meetup!
The title should be "Answering questions about Hazel - Our Game Engine". The ego trap is dangerous.
You need to allow Hazel to grow stop including phrases like “My Game Engine” I know it’s like your baby but you gotta let go

what's not to like about the header file concept. It's super simple
9:15
Header files are great, you get a summary of all the stuff the class has, without implementations to make it difficult to go trough
@@human-ft3wkIt's simple and works well, but anytime I go from most other languages to c++ the headers are just an annoying extra step.
JavaScript and C# aren't usable? lmao
