In the original Dragon Ball, Goku fought an evil rabbit man who could turn people into carrots. He even turned Bulma into one for a bit. Goku used his old power pole to send the rabbit to the moon. But since the moon has been blown up like twice, I'd say that he's dead.
Yeah the reason he was sent to the moon was to mine tofu as punishment for using his ability (turning people into carrots with only a touch) on innocent people even bulma was a temporary victim.
Re-watching this episode here, Cell's "Trunks, you couldn't fathom the amount of dead men behind me." while powering up really hits home as goddamn terrifying. When you realize his power is actually built with a pile of hundreds of thousands of corpses... His powering up while saying this is a pretty awesome (in the real sense of the word) way of emphasizing that.
In one of the first stories Goku faced mafia boss who was a rabbit with ability to turn people into carrots. To make people save he used his stick (the one which changes its length you saw in dead zone) to go into the moon and dropped the guy there.
Cell did not make that up. Dragon Ball was... a much wackier, comedy-focused show. It was only near the end where it started to get more action-focused. The manga, incidentally, was always called Dragon Ball. The people doing the anime just decided to do a little re-branding when the action got really ridiculous and called it Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball was actually loosely based on Journey to the West, a 16th century Chinese tale. It was a bit of a parody of it, too, but the important thing is that it has roots in Eastern mythology. You know how we have the Man in the Moon? The East prefers the Rabbit of the Moon (Tsuki no Usagi in Japanese). Look at the moon and see if you can see the rabbit, who is either pounding rice cakes (Japan/Korea) or an elixir of life (Chinese).
That's why dialogue has prompted me to imagine the scene, where certain character from manga and anime literally named "rabbit of the moon" is thrown by Goku to the moon, screaming in her high pitched voice :D Poor bun-head :D
Yes, very early in the series Goku did put a rabbit on the moon. Back then the series was way more loony toons cartoony, and the rabbit was a big humanoid rabbit who could turn anyone into a carrot by touching them. Goku defeated him and his goons and used his magic staff (which he doesn't use any more) which could grow to infinite length to put them on the moon. Due to being loony toons-cartoony, the issue of hard vacuum never came up. This was also a reference to a Japanese legend that there's a rabbit on the moon, based on how they saw the shadows on a full moon (as a rabbit making rice cakes).
In the early DB, there was a rabbit, who could change people into carrots by simply touching them. Goku sent him to the moon using power pole... Also, this dialogue has prompted me to imagine the scene, where certain character from manga and anime literally named "rabbit of the moon" is thrown by Goku to the moon, screaming in her high pitched voice :D Poor bun-head :D
DB was much more subtle than most abridges but I guess you have a point. I never actually watched dbz only db. Couldn't take the everlasting power up screams at all.
One thing they cut out of the abridged version was when Vegeta and Trunks confronts Semiperfect Cell and Vegeta punches him in the gut (the "stop fisting me!" part). When Vegeta powered up to the new form they actually showed him power up, then down a tiny bit and shrink some of his muscles. Thats why Cell called Trunks "a novice". That one part makes me wonder if Trunks was actually stronger than Vegeta, or did Vegeta not push the form to that level because he knew of its massive handicap?
vegeta was more powerful than trunks, in the htc, trunks was training his bulky ultra ssj form, which was wrong, vegeta was training better in the htc, and thus he was nore powerful than trunks was.
in the Original Vegeta was as strong or even stronger but he hasn't shown it to Trunks because he noticed the drawbacks and thus worked on achieving a balanced state between power and speed. That is why Trunks thought he surpassed his father.
Mihai Mercenarul I still wonder if one trains enough they could overcome the speed thing... kinda like how Goku and Gohan could just stay Super Saiyan all the time... there’s gotta be a use for that if it’s a thing that could be done...
Vegeta never powered down his muscles when he fought cell. He just went as far as he could go before it would sacrifice his speed. Trunks on the other hand kept buffing himself up for power unaware of the draw backs. The filler of trunks landing blows on cell never happen. Trunks gets dodged effortlessly and cell exposes the weakness.
Eric shumway It's shorthand for saying "Alucard, from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged," just like Kirito from SAO Abridged would either be "Abridged Kirito" or "Kirito Abriged." Same with Gohan, or Asuna, or any other Abridged character.
As everyone has said, yeah Goku sent a rabbit to the moon way back when lol. Just know that whenever they make the joke "Did you make that up?" Or "It sounds like you're making that up," it's usually a very obscure true fact from the show. One of their many running gags, and probably one of my favorite lol.
You can thank Akira Toriyama for that plot! TFS just remade it into an abridged comedy, but the original plot of cell going back in time after killing a trunks farther in the future to get to a timeline with androids 17 and 18 in it so he could absorb (drink) them was all Akira Toriyama. I'm sure your probably already aware of the fact that TFS didn't make this up on the spot but I have to give credit where credit is due. Although much respect to TFS because as you can already tell they are geniuses in their own right by telling this great story again with great humor! And as always you guys are always fun to watch as well when you react to them. I think your gonna like yugioh abridged! Oh and BTW you missed a huge joke. Right after trunks says "this battle was over with before it began" and trunks flys down to cell krillin says "dat ass" and cell says "also accurate"
Well, Krillin screwed it up because he was in love with 18 and cared about her. Vegeta screwed it up just for his pride. I don't think they deserve the same blame, Vegeta's fail was way more unforgivable.
@@Reansel Yes on a standard yes in a moral level of course Krillin has his right but he could have destroyed 18 and if he destroyed 18 if Vegeta didnt kill Cell then and now....then Trunks would have
That little bit at the end with Vegeta and Krillin is one of the best character/relationship development scenes I've EVER seen in any series. Krillin is growing more comfortable with Vegeta, and is showing less and less fear of him. Even going so far as to try and cheer Vegeta up via making fun of all the times Krillin got his ass kicked. Vegeta now knows that Krillin is the kind of person who does not care if Vegeta gets his ass kicked, and wouldn't hold Vegeta's failures against him. And so Vegeta has become more comfortable with allowing himself to actually show REAL disappointment and even sadness, all because he couldn't beat Cell even though he trained so hard... Something he's never really done with ANYONE. (Apart from Frieza on Namek, but that's different.) This small scene carries allot more than just an extra laugh for the end of the episode. And for that I will praise Team Four Star like GODS for this.
Oh, I probably should have mentioned that. Also, since the moon has been destroyed more than once, I believe Monster Carrot (if that's the wrong name, I've also heard boss rabbit, I'm sorry) is either dead or drifting around space
The rabbit's name is Monster Carrot; a mob boss who has the ability to turn anything into a carrot. Goku sent him to the moon, and will only bring him down if he made treats for all the children in the world. But Roshi destroyed the moon while he was on it, so...
Yes. He did. He sent this one rabbit mafia boss to the moon because he was turning people into carrots, which is ironic in a way because of the name Kakarot. This was from Dragon Ball (OG). Also, to your thing about raping a wormhole... no wonder the Prophets were so hesitant about Sisko. Damn you, Curtis, you almost handed Bajor back to the Cardassians.
And since he sent the rabbit to the moon I believe it's been blown up twice by the time you got to... once by Master Roshi(long story, great fight scene), brought back towards the end of Dragon Ball(kind of a short confusing story) then like you saw blown up by Yosh in the beginning of DBZ.
Yes in Dragon Ball Goku fought a rabbit that could turn people into carrots. He beat him by putting him on the moon using a thing he used to have called the power pole. The pole is able to expand infinitely
cell didn't make that last one up, it happens in the dragonball series. I think it's name was monster carrot since he could turn people into carrots with a touch
long story short the rabbit was a magic using mob boss that turned anyone he touched into a carrot, Puar shapeshifted into him and Goku power poled him. made him make everything right then took him up to the moon with his power pole extension trick (first season of Dragon ball)
I have no problem at all with an epic fight with epic music, but normally you would think this is too serious for an abridged parody! I mean, I'm not complaining, but I almost forgot this was still the abridged series!
12:35 Not made up. Goku did defeat a character named Boss Rabbit and placed him and his henchmen on the moon. Where they stayed until Master Roshi blew it up (Yes, I know. Piccolo blew up the moon during the first DBZ season, but somewhere between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, it was wished back).
Cell didn't make the last one up. In the original dragon ball, when go ku was like 10, he fought against a rabbit and defeated him by using his power pole to send him to the moon
What I don't get is how Cell killed the alternate Future Trunks. If this Trunks was strong enough to solo both Androids at once (and presumably help defeat them in the past) I don't see how an Imperfect Cell who hasn't had a chance to bulk up on eating humans could beat him. I can only imagine he ambushed him?
The implication is that, for some unexplained reason (aka, "plot"), the 17 and 18 of the present are MUCH STRONGER than their Future counterparts. So while Imperfect Cell may have needed to gobble up first in order to stand up to the Present Androids, _maybe he was more than enough by himself against the Future ones._ Again, why that discrepancy? *"Plot".*
The rabbit's name is Monster Carrot, a gang leader that Goku sent to the moon with his Power Pole and told him and his gang members that they can come back when they make enough moon treats for the whole town he was terrorizing.
There was an episode of the original Dragonball series where Goku encountered an anthropomorphic rabbit named "Monster Carrot", who could turn people into carrots by touching them. ''If 16 is a real physical embodiment''. I'm really curious how Curtis his neighbours would react to a 8ft ginger android walking around town with Curtis :p
Back in the days of Dragon ball the story wasn't taken too seriously since back then it was strictly a spoof manga (comedy anime) so when a Mafia boss who happened to be a human sized rabbit (they were everywhere in dragon ball/human sized animals) turned Bulma into a carrot and then when Goku and Yamcha forced him to turn her back Goku decided to tie him an his goons to him power poll and (it extends by the way) used it to take them to the moon. Yes this is cannon...
i think it was originally mochi(basically like a jelly like ball made of rice), japan has some weird mythology about rabbits pounding mochi on the moon(it's made by pounding rice in water), and in dragon ball they had goku be the reason for that XD
Y'know... as funny as it is watching DBZA (for the millionth time), watching you watch DBZA (for the first time, wich makes it better)... is also hella funny listen to some of your banter. That, at the beginning of the video, was hilarious.
Oh god, you guys have to start a new reaction series to Red vs Blue! I know you're about to do Yugioh TAS, which is also an amazing series, but RVB is over TEN seasons long! You'd be a good year into reacting and still have episodes, specials and things to watch from them! And it's still as hilarious as it was back then, so if you're looking for something to watch then give Red vs Blue a try!
About Trunks' form, to quote Jake the Muss, Too many weights, not enough speed work. (Kind of surprised noone's tried to edit that together, I mean they combined it wth the simpsons - Homer the Muss - that's actually a thing.) Also, about the rabbit thing, is it weird that out of all the comments that explained that, nobody happened to point out that Bulma was dressed like a bunnygirl at the time?
Goku did send a rabbit to the moon. It was one of the first things he did.
and he was 12 when he sent the rabbit to the moon and took down the red ribbon army like cell had mentioned
True dat
+Bob Syvel A.d Doctor Gero worked fot the Red Ribbon Army
Yup goku did send a rabbit to the moon
The Rabbit was a mob boss

@@TheDarkMewtwo996 Wait, so how did the moon come back after Roshi blew it up anyway?
@No U Kami rebuilt the moon, only for Piccolo to blow it up again. That's actually pretty funny.
@zirath ashe what? Thats not true even in Abridged lol
The Rabbit gang isnt dead, they are just floating in space
Nope he didn't make it up. Goku did indeed send an evil rabbit to the moon. Dragon ball is a weird series XD
yup LOL I have to say still one of my fave things from DB
I don't remember that. and I watched Dragonball Like 5 times.
Yeah the reason he was sent to the moon was to mine tofu as punishment for using his ability (turning people into carrots with only a touch) on innocent people even bulma was a temporary victim.
It's towards the beginning of the series. He was able to turn people into carrots. It was after they meet Yamaha but before he became a companion
If I remember correctly it was an episode or 2 before they met Yamcha

What Cell said IS true, but it's more like, Goku DELIVERED a rabbit to the moon, rather than hitting him there.
@runk mn Not knowing the original scene a person would likely assume when hearing "sent" that Goku struck a rabbit that far.
Yes goku has sent a rabbit and o the moon in dragonball

Yes, Goku did send a rabbit to the moon during a tournament in DB. Legend says he's still flying somewhere out there to this day.
Db is dragon ball btw. It was the series that came before dragonball Z.
Wasn't a tournament. They were just travelling to find the dragon balls and they came across the rabbit mafia in a town.
Hes not flying out there because hes dead piccolo destroyed the moon remember?
Goku DID indeed sen a rabbit to the moon lol
Goku really did send a rabbit to the Moon, in the original "Dragon Ball" series - a prequel to this one.
3:26 I think he’s upset over herambe 😂
He 100% no joke literally fucking sent a god damn rabbit to the moon
The Rabbit to the moon part, NO, he didn't make that up, look up "Monster Carrot" i.e. the rabbit that got sent to the moon

In the original dragon ball, some type of men and a rabbit where sent to the moon by kid goku, if you know the rest reply

Vegeta hasn't discovered that form
yes he did but he didnt want to use it

i dont know if they changed it for copyright but i never noticed how badass the music is
Goku did indeed send a rabbit to the moon.
It's more Krillin's fault than Vegeta. Had he disabled 18 like Bulma asked him to, it wouldn't have mattered what Vegeta did.
Actually, not just one rabbit but three. The video is "Goku takes the rabbit gang to the moon"
''If 16 is a real physical embodiment''. I'm really curious how Curtis his neighbours would react to a 8ft ginger android walking around town with Curtis :p
Is that child with the glasses kidnapped
Is the bald old man a child molestor
Krillin was fine until that last line, him and Vegeta were actually having a moment.
Goku actually did send a rabbit to the moon.
Back in the normal Dragon Ball He did send a rabbit to the moon.
Don't forgot that Krillin was also at fault for Cell reaching his final form.
also nope goku actually did send a rabbid to the moon
Back in the days of Dragon ball the story wasn't taken too seriously since back then it was strictly a spoof manga (comedy anime) so when a Mafia boss who happened to be a human sized rabbit (they were everywhere in dragon ball/human sized animals) turned Bulma into a carrot and then when Goku and Yamcha forced him to turn her back Goku decided to tie him an his goons to him power poll and (it extends by the way) used it to take them to the moon. Yes this is cannon...
Popo is like The Devil in DBZ Abridged
yup he did. Goku carried the Rabbit gang up to the moon on his power pole to make moon pies.
i think it was originally mochi(basically like a jelly like ball made of rice), japan has some weird mythology about rabbits pounding mochi on the moon(it's made by pounding rice in water), and in dragon ball they had goku be the reason for that XD
Y'know... as funny as it is watching DBZA (for the millionth time), watching you watch DBZA (for the first time, wich makes it better)... is also hella funny listen to some of your banter. That, at the beginning of the video, was hilarious.
goku as a child sent a rabbit to a moon
Oh god, you guys have to start a new reaction series to Red vs Blue! I know you're about to do Yugioh TAS, which is also an amazing series, but RVB is over TEN seasons long! You'd be a good year into reacting and still have episodes, specials and things to watch from them! And it's still as hilarious as it was back then, so if you're looking for something to watch then give Red vs Blue a try!
No, that actually happened. Early Dragon Ball, first saga of the original series.
Series is stil going on, and...Nappa is alive in Abridged version :)
Goku sent a magic rabbit to the moon in the original dragon ball
Do I see TFS Attack on Titan Abridged in the future?
They already did one episode, but they got a strike for copy infringement.
Hector Arroyo
I mean are these guys gonna react to that episode. I already know the situation involving TFS and AoT
he really fuckin did send a rabbit to the moon when he was 14
Yes, He did send a rabbit to the moon, look up "Monster Carrot"
About Trunks' form, to quote Jake the Muss, Too many weights, not enough speed work. (Kind of surprised noone's tried to edit that together, I mean they combined it wth the simpsons - Homer the Muss - that's actually a thing.)
Also, about the rabbit thing, is it weird that out of all the comments that explained that, nobody happened to point out that Bulma was dressed like a bunnygirl at the time?
fun fact TFS has said popo is the future version of there xenoverse 1 character
