I live in a first world country so I’m having a sook about it 🤣🤣🤣 best line ever
😂😂😂😂
So true about the currency issue ~ every time Net a Porter asks me for feedback, I give a rant about local currency! I’m in New Zealand and we don’t use USD here! Great video, thank you ❤
Oh then you feel my pain!! I throw a rant too about the currently thing. It’s not rocket science, considering much smaller websites allow it
The different pricing for different sizing kills me!! Consistency is key people!!
Absolute worst Ponzi scheme to do 😢😢
@@THECLOSETbyConnor ponzi 🤣
@@DaylesAddiction 😂😂😂
Agree with every point you made (the bizarre discount rules and not-rules, the inconsistency with pricing, return policies). I opened up a Farfetch account, but never made a purchase because every time I went to see a "deaL 'their T&C were overwhelming. Maybe this is good for retail: just go to the darn store! Shopping should be a pleasure, not another "thing" we have to mind, worry or stress over. .
Part of the problem is, not everyone has a store near them to go to. Plus, I like Farfetch because I can find things that are either sold out in my country or wasn’t released in my country.
The struggle 😢😢😢
@@THECLOSETbyConnor I know, right? ;)
Can’t buy a Gucci bag on a Tuesday 🤣🤣 Totally agree that they needed to throw in benefits to make choosing them worth buying from boutique or another platform.
Exactly!!!
omg I hate the discount code circus, trying to use one only to find it doesn't work on anything you pick lol
Facts!!!
Someone in the comments has already explained the Fraser Group and Mike Ashley's malpractices here in the UK. As a customer I generally enjoyed shopping at Matches. They had a good online presence with 'styling' videos on social media and their own brand Raey which seemed popular. I do find Matches, along with Mr Porter (and SSENSE and LNCC) often overwhelming with their product offer even when filtering, which reflects they don't really know or understand their customer. Mytheresa is my go-to generally. The failure of Matches is a broader reflection of online designer shopping and makes you think whether the exclusivity of in-store shopping and waiting lists like Hermes and Chanel is what makes it lucrative for brands.
I'm so sorry I missed this video lovely Connor. I have been a bit off lately, well more off than usual.😁 I just love you and the way you talk about topics. You always bring a smile to my face. I have never bought from Matches but have many times bought from Farfetch. I agree with you about the pricing. One size being the sale price and then all the others being so much more. Get your shit together please Farfetch. So frustrating. Much love. Jenni. XX💙
Next one going down... Neiman Marcus?
Maybe 🥹
Punished for being Average😂
😂😂😂 story of my life
I recently bought from Matches because they had a huge discount on shoes I actually already wanted. Shame they’ve gone under but not surprising. Loyalty programs don’t interest me because, as you say, too many exclusions. These days points and vouchers direct us to buying anything - absolutely anything - just to spend them before they expire and usually for more than the points/voucher is worth. We end up spending more money on something we weren’t that fussed about buying anyway! Flannels should be next.
Oh ain’t that the truth, I have been guilty of this 😂😂😂
There was a clear drop in customer service, paying for shipping and it’s also the brands not allowing sites to use discount codes and sipping restrictions.
What does my head in the most is Mr.Porter pocketing the the shipping duties on a return.
You’re spot I!
Omg right?! Absolute worst. It’s not ‘free returns’ if I’m out of pocket the duties!!!
YES!!!@@THECLOSETbyConnor
Thank you so much KKUWAN for taking us shopping🛍…my wish list just got longer🤦♀
Agree!!!! Yoox Net-a-porter is in trouble too
Yep!! Slippery slope
I looked at a video of a woman who tried to buy a deal from farfetch and she suspect that farfetch rigged the shopping experience. She is suspecting farfetch algo picks up that someone has stalked the site, buy on sale only to clame someone else bought it and then cancelled so that the item got listed again but in full price....So farfetch might rigg the prices ..she mentioned she called farfetch but they " could not" honour the price the item had on sale and let her buy it when " the other customer" cancelled....
Oh wow that’s crazy!!!!
That ‘cookies’ for you; I’ve noticed this with travel purchases, especially airlines.
Oh my gosh these are the exact things that have put me off and sent me elsewhere. Also the delivery and returns fees are a huge turn off!
You can’t exchange so you have to pay returns and then a new delivery fee on top of the delivery fee that you already paid for.
I resent paying delivery fees as it is but on a bag that’s over 5k c’mon 🙄
Adding to the currency conversion then we have to pay a bank fee on that 😐
Oh it’s an absolute joke!!!
That’s sad news 🙁 I would say matches is my favourite shopping platform. I’m from Perth and we don’t have any stock here.
MyTheresa is good too x
@@THECLOSETbyConnor I use that one too. Is it better? I ended up buying most on Matches. I didn’t realise they were closing down //sadface ☹️
Such a fab video! I agree with everything you say Connor, a lot of these companies are a sh8T show, as you say! 😂😂😂
Thank you lovely 💘
It lit up, combusted, bye
😂😂😂
Yep Matches used to be great but those policy changes were frustrating. When Frasers Group bought them in December I knew it was suspect - they have a bad reputation here in the UK for questionable customer service, being all about the profit to the detriment of everything else, and not treating their staff very well. They already own Flannels so I did wonder how they would sustain two luxury retailers. Matches actually has some stores here in London and they emailed me yesterday to say they are open for business with exchanges offered only, and anything I may have bought before last week is not eligible for exchange or return 🤔
Hmmm very strange
It sounds like setting the benchmark in Claytons promotions and conditions.
Yes I could feel a drop in customer service and shipping fees on top.
I’m going to Spain perhaps meeting Queen Leitizia would be easier. You know it’s 4/5ths of 5/8ths of FA trying to work out these dumb a$$ reward schemes. Good rant Connor & funny to boot. 🙌😘🙌
Hahahaha 5/8th of FA 😂😂😂😂 Thanks lovely x
I really love your taste and style always so chic. 👌My faves would be the KKUWAN leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. 💓Thank you for your recommendations.
10:25 Matches be thinking it’s 1960s Australia offering you Pounds haha (Australia had pounds until Feb 1966) They might as well shown you prices in Pounds, Shillings & Pence haha
Hahaha exactly!!!
Neither of those luxury online retailers have the decent online shopping experience - they’re all awfully slow.
Let me filter by category- waits for 5 seconds.
Let me sort by price- waits for 5 seconds.
And when I sort, it shows only first 50 results, regardless of whether I want or not to see everything they offer.
Shows me an advert on IG and asks me to solve the captcha.
Want to see the item - try later, too many requests in second made.
That’s not a luxury experience- it’s too slow and not user friendly. We want the modern technology to match the modern clothes!!
The absolutely worst are: My Theresa, LVR, Yoox, Outnet, Netaporter is trying but still slow.
Oh yeah you’re actually right!! They are so slow, or when you’re searching for things and click info something to check it out, go back and you’re at the top of the results again 🥲
I'm with you on the sizing thing. WTF...
So annoying 😢
love the: i live in a 1st world so I'm having 1st world problems lol. i never bought from either because their return policy and process was too complicated. another thing was their duties dislcaimer, I never trusted that, because they would say MAY BE SUBJECT to import duties and taxes which are applied when the package reaches that destination. i never fully trusted it and it scared me into thinking the possibility that I would end up paying way more.
Oh yeah 100%! So scared of paying duties too 😢😢
same with me and coach nothing a want is on usa web site i want so can go to coach store I buy from depement store just get what I want coach never relase the whole collecation on their web sight it pissed be off
That’s Coach for ya 😂
yes true @@THECLOSETbyConnor
Omg 🤣 first world problems 🤣 I’m with you on the sizing thing and sometimes it’s even a color! 🫨
Matches used to be good but then they got more and more expensive to buy from
Yeah exactly!!
Valid points 😊💙
If I’m not going to get anything out of the purchase I’d rather get full luxury experience from the original source.
So what happens to all the stock they hold?
One massive all out sale clearance? Wouldn’t that be great! 🎉😅
Hahaha here’s hoping!!!
Never average
Aww ❤❤❤
100000% the size price point shits me
😂😂😂😂
Another fun video 🤣
Thank you ❤❤❤
❤️🙌🏽🤣
❤❤❤❤
Different prices for different sizes of the SAME PRODUCT drives me fucking WILD! 🤬🪦
