I fricken love Armada Jetfire. His design is unique and the figure feels solid (like the majority of the Armada figures). I guess it's just preference. Also, for the gun's battery, there is a small door with a single screw holding it in place, that, when removed, will give you access to the battery.
I used to have the powerlinx version of this guy, he was my favorite and the 2nd figure I ever owned, sadly he got brutally broken by another kid back then.

It did for the transformation into jet convoy. It worked as a mini jet engine so that optimus could fly during the transformation. Then he can fly after forming Jet convoy

I picked up the Powerlinx redeco a few years ago (he didn't have the minicon or missiles, but I don't mind). He's definitely fat and clunky, you can't do much with him, but I absolutely love the way he looks in both modes. I clicked on this video because he's been sitting in his vehicle mode for over a year and I forgot how to transform him.
Most complex power link would be RiD/CarRobots Optimus and Ultra Magnus. But the link series did get the true first kick from this guy and Prime. One of my favorite combos out there,
I wonder if the value of these older lines will increase given they don't actually make chunky filled-in parts like this anymore. There is something to be said about the heft and quality of these older lines.

I'm sad that you couldn't demonstrate the light and sound gimmick on yours, having my own i really enjoy having the pew pew noise from G1 stored in that. for battery replacement you do NOT need to take out all those screws. The batteries are stored behind the gun handle and unscrewing that single screw at the bottom of the gun will reveal the 3 small circular batteries it requires and a surprising little piece of fabric that helps in removing them. (my apologies if you already covered this in earlier comments, but i felt like an update video would do this toy justice. Also i hope you can get your batteries replaced since the pew pew noise is great)
Armada Jetfire in my opinion not too bad toy at all and kinda cool looking, I like his look in the show btw, he just need more paint and details on his body, and have some pretty good features, like his combination with Prime and with big guy Overload! But his minicon Comettor I don't practically like, I prefer for myself Crumpleson and Blackout, I really like this guys.
Do you even read instructions? I actually just recently pulled this guy out of storage, (was in storage for 12-13 years) and I had to put batteries in so I could hear all the sound effects, without looking at the instructions I was able to unscrew one screw and pull off the battery cover and put batteries in (I always remove batteries before storing). I only needed to look at the instructions to make sure I had the arms in the correct orientation to use as legs for Prime (Still don't get the point of the peg/hole on the side of each arm).
Pantsformers, you should coin that term. Jet Optimus (Jet Convoy) dosen't look too bad in that mode, I guess he sticks to Jetfire a lot better then he's exploding trailer. :D

it's not that the Super mode shoulders of your Prime were assembled wrong. it's more that there is a complicated joint in the shoulder. because that joint is made to form Prime's legs in his regular robot mode and his shoulders in his super mode, there is a swivel inside there that turns a hinge joint. it can be extremely finnicky to move, from the experience with my Prime, due to the fact that he has a swivel joint at the hinge joints that attach it to the Super Mode forearm. Unless I'm misunderstanding the problem here.
I like your reveiws, but this is one in which I think you are wrong. I think Armada Jetfire is the best Figure of the Aramada Line. Now you changed my mind about the Jet-Optimus Combination, I hated him, and I realized I was doing something wrong when combining them. They are really cool tougether thanks!!!
I know it is his opinion, but I like Jetfire a lot!!! Now you are right, maybe I exagerated, the best Armada Figure, by far, is Unicron. The Predecesor mold of most of Unicrons we have today.

the missiles peg on his wings and one actually have to put a minicon on the wing ports to....drop them(yeah, not the best gimmick) the legs could have had a bit more articulation, believe me, they could, but why would they give this figure the articulation that could have make it better?, i do prefer the energon mold, though i do like the armada version shuttle mode better(in its powerlinx colors XD)
Do you have Armado Overload he can combine with prime and you can atatch him to the back oh him in Jetfire combination. I like Jetfire but Energon one was better in my book but thats just my opinoin

Actually most of these figures have doubled in price on Ebay (if in good condition). A MISB Jetfire goes for like $130-150 USD.
