To be honest, I think the best thing about this video was hearing Teal's passion for this game. It's like you can hear him smiling with everything he says, and it's so nice to see someone so enjoyable about this kind of thing!
Off beat in my opinion, is not just the best level on this game, but it’s one of the best platforming levels I have ever played, period, it is just perfect, the colours are so vibrant, the music is amazing, and like you said, the way the difficulty escalates is just perfect
The final world of the game is just non-stop perfection from level to level. The satisfying gravity-flipping action of Nitro Processing, the gem route, DKC-esque music, and absolutely gorgeous pan up shot to Cortex's Lair in Toxic Tunnels (which bookends the game by referencing the pan up shot from Rude Awakening), the subtle gameplay similarities between Slippery Climb and Seeing Double, and the near-perfectly constructed final gauntlet in Cortex Castle. If I were to make a top 10 list of best levels, half of the list would all be from that world alone!
Agree, Cortex Castle is my favorite. Most people say it's comparable with Stormy Ascent, but it isn't as hard, except for the Bonus, that is a bull part. Getting to use all of the masks through the final gauntlet feels amazing
@@carolinacortesmartinez4305 Toxic tunnels is the only one that comes to stormy ascent in terms of difficulty. However cortex castle has intricate and complex platforming like stormy ascent and sunset vista. Nitro processing comes close too.

Crash Landed: the theme for this level is like wow. Out of the movie avatar. 4. Food Run: Similar concept to Cortex Castle. Plus it’s a fun theme 5. Off-Balance: Atmosphere is so dreamy like with very fun gameplay. 6. Dino Dash: Best Chase level 7. Snow way out: love this ice level setting and music, the play forming river sections are so good. 8. Hit the Road 9. Draggin On 10. Jet Board Jetty
My favorite level is honestly Food Run. At first it was hard but once I figured out what to do it became a very fun level. Was also a great way to take advantage of all the masks. Plus visually it is amazing

@@garrett3726 I especially love the theme which the level conveys with you travelling through a dock area down to a pirate town into the treasure vault, the rail section pulls this off wonderfully too. It feels like you're actually going somewhere.
I’m really glad you like the soundtrack for this game. A lot of youtubers don’t think that music is a memorable but I loved everything about it, with a few misses here and there...
Just compare it with the Trilogy. Take for example two levels with a similar setting: "Toxic Waste" and "Nitro Processing" What song is more catchy? You know what I want to tell?
I was a little hesitant about the soundtrack, but it really surprised me! Walter Mair did a terrific job with this soundtrack, mixing in old familiar Crash tunes with new music to the mix! He nailed it splendidly! Off Beat, Stay Frosty, Food Run, Cortex Castle, Jetboard Jetty, Off-Balance are some great examples of his superb soundtrack

ya know something, the polar ride in bears repeating is like the polar levels in crash 2, you just hit crates, jump and move around obstacles,but the shnurgle ride in crash landed felt like a reference to the pura levels in crash 3 warped, like with the more narrow paths and going up and down to higher and lower levels its really crazy
After replaying Crash 1 and 2 I realize I prefer challenging levels like The Lost City/Sunset Vista or Cortex Power, but not levels that are way too hard like Toxic Tunnels

Yeeeees!! Cortex Castle is simply amazing. Last sections feel just so perfect when you speed through them. And you're definetely right. The game is very hard especially going for n.sanely perfect relics and platinum relics. But the game will push you to reach that level. Lot of amazing levels. couldn't even make a top 10, but cortex castle is perfection

A very solid list! One of my personal favourites is A Real Grind. Apart from teaching you to master flipping up and down on the grind rails, I just love the general atmosphere of being on the outskirts of a post apocalyptic wasteland.
My favorite levels are the last three. Love out for launch, the first and 3rd prehistoric levels, food run and all three snow levels. I think these had the most intricate platforming in the game. However toxic tunnels takes the cake for me. IMO that level along with cortex castle gave the same feeling as if i was playing sunset vista and stormy ascent again, and future tense too.

Cortex Castle is one of the most frustrating levels I have ever played in a game. I am able to do complete everything in the level except for the last segment - about 15 seconds of gameplay left. I had about 125 deaths before I just gave up.
I didn't play the game because sadly, there are no news of a PC release. But by looking at the levels, "Crash landed" is definately among my favourites. It's a visual phenomenon, looks so beautiful, unique, and creative... I mean, there is an entire alien ecosystem in the background, and we never seen anything like that in the series before. Plus, now we know what a bermugulan slagvork is!
When I first saw this video, I thought you were crazy putting Cortex Castle at number 1. Then I played the level a few more times and it’s up there in my top 5 levels. Everything (including the final gauntlet) is so incredibly fun and satisfying to pull off well if you know what you’re doing. I don’t love it as much as Off Beat, but it’s still amazing

What's the song you use for transitioning between the next top picks? It reminds me so much of Kirby. I won't be that surprised if it turns out to be a remix of a Kirby song.
My personal top 10 would be: 1. Off Beat 2. Crash Landed 3. Cortex Castle 4. Booty Calls 5. Food Run 6. Draggin' On 7. Rude Awakening 8. Snow Way Out 9. Dino Dash 10. Stowing Away I wouldn't personally include any flashback levels, those for me are very much seperate. These are the levels for me that I am going to remember most, be it the challenge, the visuals, or the soundtrack (or a combination of all of these). Also some of the levels for me become so hard that they're not fun. There's got to be a fine balance in a Crash Bandicoot level between challenge and fun for me personally. Honourable mentions for N. Sanity Peak, Blast to the Past, Out For Launch, Jetboard Jetty, and I also generally enjoy a lot of the Dingodile levels.
No dillo dallying is my favourite. I enjoy the dingodile part of the level and the part were you ride the barge roof is also harder then on the run it bayou level. I love the animation of the little Armadillo character that drives it lol. This game over all has been brilliant and they've done a great job. It's the right amount of hard. It's not to hard that it can never be beat but it's hard enough that you can beat every level with the right amount of patience and persistence.
My favorite crash levels are hit the road and a real grind because of the unique level design, and crash landed because of those cute little lizard creatures and the one at the ride section called Shnurgle.

In all honesty this list just made me cry! I mean I still haven’t 106% this game yet and more than likely won’t because of how crazy challenging it is but I love every minute of it! Surprised you didn’t put any of the eggipus dimension levels on this list here too? Lol
That was really interesting what you did with the TNT crates for the end part of cortex castle. Might have to try that out on my best play through of the level soon.
It would be interesting if they do a medieval dimension, but expand on it. Some ideas like: -a level where you start off in a medieval village as you make your way up to the castle, and just as you get to the castle entrance, and enter, the level ends -Next level would be going through the castle interior for the next 2-3 levels, with a boss in the tallest tower. They did great with the prehistoric dimension, but imagine the possibilities for the medieval or Arabian settings expanded upon! And the futuristic Sn@xx dimension - that future setting was colorful, lively, and gorgeous!!
Nice video! Will you do the top 10 CB4 soundtracks? You mentioned them quite a few times here and they are worth discussing - especially if you're a Crash bandicoot fan who pays attention to that and any Easter eggs there might be.
Video idea: Similarities between Crash Bandicoot 4 and other platformer games of the mid-1990s-late 2000s. The Crash Bandicoot 4 intro spin very reminiscent of Daxter from Jak and Daxter. Rude Awakening - Crash Bandicoot 1's N.Sanity Beach, Jungle Rollers. A bit of Planet Florana from Ratchet and Clank 3 in there. And some Crash Twinsanity influence as well N.Sanity Peak - Rayman 2 influence, especially when you discover Lani-Loli. Again some Crash Twinsanity elements. Swinging on vines definitely gives me Tarzan vibes from the PS1 game. A Real Grind - The grind rail segments remind me of Rail Canyon in Sonic Heroes. Some segments giving me Tarzan vibes again. Hit The Road - again the ball levels from Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex as you mentioned. Booty Calls - Planet Ardolis from Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Hook, Line and Sinker - again some Tarzan vibes, especially some of the later Tarzan levels. Sliding on the ropes, the setting. Jetboard Jetty - some CB2 callbacks, again as you mentioned. Give it a Spin OST remixes the Temple Ruins theme from CB1. Draggin' On has the vertical thing going on (from CB1), as you mentioned in another video. Off-Beat - Rayman 1, specifically the Band Land levels. Run It Bayou - again CB2 callback. Bayou setting again gives me Rayman 2 vibes. Snow Way Out - Kreeli Comet in Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Also some Rayman 2 influence, the music later in the level reminds me of the theme from Cave of Bad Dreams a little. Kapuna-Wa's time abilities remind me of Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. Stay Frosty - A callback to CB2 again, especially the music. Some of the music also reminds me of Pleasure Castle in Sonic Adventure. Bears Repeating - again a callback to CB2. The dinosaur themed levels we have had in the Crash Bandicoot games before. A little bit of Ratchet and Clank influence also especially the grind rail segments. Out For Launch - Sonic Adventure 1/2/Sonic Heroes vibes again here. I can just imagine Sonic the Hedgehog in this level at the start instead with a succession of rings in the pathways at the start instead. Crash Landed - again a Ratchet and Clank vibe, maybe like the Obani Moon levels from the third game (especially the music). Some of the gameplay has a Jak and Daxter element as well. Sn@xx Dimension levels - Planet Kerwan and other city planets from the Ratchet and Clank games. Nitro Processing - could easily be a later Ratchet and Clank 1/2 level. Music gives me Planet Snivelak vibes, mixed with Spyro 1. Cortex Castle combines elements in the background of other CB1 levels, including The Lab, lights out, and in Seeing Double a little bit of Slippery Climb.
I just beat the game last night with green/red/blue gems missing (don't tell me where they are lol) Not having played these 3 color gem routes yet, here's my top 10: (10) A Real Grind - Not a very popular one I guess? It's short and neat, placed it on the list for playing too many times but still eager to find out 153th box I've missed lol. Also, this level is good candidate for gaining wumpa and lives once you lose in retro mode (9) Out For Launch - I don't get why people seem to hate it a lot (because of Ika-Ika? But it's used in number of levels afterwards...), it's got one of the best designed bonus levels, the 2D area after bonus which you flip gravity to get through the foes is intense too (8) Draggin' On - Not so many's favorite I bet, but I just don't feel bored replaying this level. A night level in the setting of Tranquility Falls makes it even cooler (but I dont particularly love Off-Balance lol). The fact that you use Akano most to climb up the mountain is splendid (7) Bears Repeating - I know it's super notorious to runners aiming for perfect relic and even box gem alone is tough enough (the latter took me 80+ lives, simply won't try the former), but you must admit the road-to-nowhere vibe of skull route in 1st half (plus music) and polar section (ignoring controlability :p) in 2nd half make it out to be one of the most action-packed in entire game (6) Snow Way Out - A soothing level to play with one of the best soundtracks, recalled how I struggled before I first got hands with completing the level in the demo, now I can do perfect run with ease :o) Everything about this level is decent, it will go down as one of best snow levels in the series (5) Home Cookin' - A signature level for Dingo which well introduces him to players. Though not being too fanatic at the other timeline levels of Dingo, this easily goes on top on my list on how Dingo matches with the bayou and the food truck setting (plus the concept of cooking pot is cool) and recalled how impressed when I first controlled Dingo (4) Hook, Line, And Sinker - Another neat level for introducing Tanwa. Like Home Cookin', the setting suits Tanwa in a perfect way. A refreshing level which you will easily gain satisfaction in almost every segment. The level design on the pirate ship is very amazing (3) Booty Calls - This level has that charisma which makes me play over again and again. The setting of pirates is awesome (like Hook, Line, And Sinker). The railing section is one of the best compared to other levels in the game. You can not easily forget the soundtrack too :o) It's undoubtedly wise choice they show this level in the trailer few months before release (2) Cortex Castle - I'm sure I do not need a detailed complement (and curse :p) of this level since most others have already done here :o) Nothing regarding this level is underwhelming (level design, difficulty, bonus level, soundtrack, how you push your instinct to extreme and apply your skills of the four quantum masks in the end). Unarguably the best final level in the series. This level is very well done though I definitely won't do the perfect relic :o( (1) Off beat - No need to explain that much, this level simply makes you smile, period. The railing part with the ghosts playing orchestra, the cubical platforms which rage when you step on them, the cannon which fires Crash, the piano keys and background music. It cheers you up everytime you play it though.
Ive been dying 15 to 20 times each level, I know I know😂😂😂 I considered myself a Crash Bandicoot master until this game. I’m going to run through the game again after I beat it and really take time and enjoy how well made it was and all the secrets💯

Actually agree with the last one. Cortex Castle was awesome. And it’s not that hard either. I actually thought the two levels before it were a lot tougher. And there are plenty of levels were finding all the crates is a lot more of a pain. Especially Bears Repeating and Crash Landed.
Controversial opinion: the music in this game is better than the originals. The fact that it's dynamic really sold it for me. For example, when you get deeper into Cortex's lab in Stay Frosty, his theme gets incorporated into a song that sounds surprisingly Spyro and Crash at the same time. Its just pure awesomeness. Or how cinematic levels like Snow Way Out and Dino Dash turned out to be. I could just go on and on, because of how many is stuck in my head rn.
I can deffo agree some of these would be in my top 10 as well :D with Hook, Line and Sinker being in there, Snow Way Out I enjoyed a lot, Out For Launch was great, oh can't forget Cortex's level in the dino world, I had fun there too lol X3 there's a lot of fun to be had hehe

Thank you for acknowledging Walter Mair in this Top 10 video of Crash Bandicoot 4! He did an excellent job of crafting a unique and memorable soundtrack for this game - clever callbacks to old Crash Bandicoot mixed in with new unique music! Great soundtrack all around! Off Beat is a prime example of a great piece of music he made, along with Cortex Castle, Stay Frosty, and Food Run, to name a few others.
I liked a lot of levels and disliked majority of vehicles levels So my list is -Off beat -Jetboard Jetty -Nitro Processing -Dragging on -Rude Awakening -off balance -Snow way out -Stay frosty -Home cooking -and all the salty wharf levels -hit the road Many others but it’s hard to list all of them on back of my head there is a lot of levels
I notice that whenever I see gameplay of Cortex Castle the pink bars will remove an Uka Uka mask. I always die even if I have a mask when I play! I cant burn a mask to get through the beams at all.
Honestly, if the riding levels were in a tighter corridor, the one where you had to chase Cortex should've made this list. What ruined those levels for me is that the turning feels awful and is making collecting the boxes much harder than it should have been. Which is weird, because the part where you're in a ball feels perfect and it was basically riding Polar, but reversed with no boost. I adore all the levels in Crash 4. But the levels where you have to ride got the short end of the stick.
As much as this game is causing me to beat my head against the wall trying to get the perfect relics, I do enjoy the challenge it gives me. I would love it if Toys For Bob gave us a few more dimensions as DLC.
I agree to you with everything you said about stay frosty, off beat and cortex castle Toys for bob really nailed everything with their creativity and they made real memorable levels The ost of the game is perfect for every level, walter mair really knew what he was doing My biggest complaint is about polar levels. But all the rest of the game is near perfect. I would love the true crash bandicoot 5 being in this same art style and graphics, with also the same controls and mechanics. and i would love even more if they made another trilogy, focusing on a similar difficulty of this game, because this trilogy being harder would be even more memorable, and we can't doubt on their creativity on making awesome levels. and then another racing game that gets inspiration in this trilogy
OK I know this is a very random question and has nothing to do with the video but whatever happened to your my little Skylanders video? I have been looking for it everywhere and have not been able to find it. I’m starting to think I made it up. I just really love that video and I can’t find it anywhere. Don't like the wall running levels or the rail grinding levels but I like the jetski levels and the mardI gras levels inspired by rayman legends no doubt!
I absolutely hated Cortex Castle simply due to the amount of times it killed me but it’s the level that has stuck with me most and definitely the best design. Just a shame I sucked so hard haha
Off Beat and Cortex Castle are easily my favorite levels too. However, I also really like Rock Blocked for being a lava level with a chase section (two of my favorite level clichés ever), and overall excellent design, even in the Dingodile section.
There’s another aster egg on N. Sanity Beach at the beginning of Rude Awakaning. At 0:54 you can see it. On the surfboard on the left side of the screen, that pattern is actually the same pattern of the tattoo Crash has on his arms in Crash of the Titans and Crash: Mind over Mutant
God I love this fucking game ! ...my favourite level is off beat ....because crash has always been about timing an that level emphasizes that perfectly

ya know something, the polar ride in bears repeating is like the polar levels in crash 2, you just hit crates, jump and move around obstacles,but the shnurgle ride in crash landed felt like a reference to the pura levels in crash 3 warped, like with the more narrow paths and going up and down to higher and lower levels its really crazy

After replaying Crash 1 and 2 I realize I prefer challenging levels like The Lost City/Sunset Vista or Cortex Power, but not levels that are way too hard like Toxic Tunnels

And you're definetely right. The game is very hard especially going for n.sanely perfect relics and platinum relics. But the game will push you to reach that level.

With that Cortex Castle, it is soooo satisfying when you finally nail that perfect run for the N. Sanely Perfect Relic.
A very solid list! One of my personal favourites is A Real Grind. Apart from teaching you to master flipping up and down on the grind rails, I just love the general atmosphere of being on the outskirts of a post apocalyptic wasteland.
Hit the Road is probably my favourite level in the whole game
My favorite levels are the last three. Love out for launch, the first and 3rd prehistoric levels, food run and all three snow levels. I think these had the most intricate platforming in the game. However toxic tunnels takes the cake for me. IMO that level along with cortex castle gave the same feeling as if i was playing sunset vista and stormy ascent again, and future tense too.
This list is perfect. I love all of these levels. I'd just swap that flash back level with give it a spin.

Cortex Castle is one of the most frustrating levels I have ever played in a game. I am able to do complete everything in the level except for the last segment - about 15 seconds of gameplay left. I had about 125 deaths before I just gave up.
I didn't play the game because sadly, there are no news of a PC release. But by looking at the levels, "Crash landed" is definately among my favourites. It's a visual phenomenon, looks so beautiful, unique, and creative... I mean, there is an entire alien ecosystem in the background, and we never seen anything like that in the series before. Plus, now we know what a bermugulan slagvork is!
When I first saw this video, I thought you were crazy putting Cortex Castle at number 1. Then I played the level a few more times and it’s up there in my top 5 levels. Everything (including the final gauntlet) is so incredibly fun and satisfying to pull off well if you know what you’re doing. I don’t love it as much as Off Beat, but it’s still amazing

I wouldn't personally include any flashback levels, those for me are very much seperate.
These are the levels for me that I am going to remember most, be it the challenge, the visuals, or the soundtrack (or a combination of all of these). Also some of the levels for me become so hard that they're not fun. There's got to be a fine balance in a Crash Bandicoot level between challenge and fun for me personally.
Honourable mentions for N. Sanity Peak, Blast to the Past, Out For Launch, Jetboard Jetty, and I also generally enjoy a lot of the Dingodile levels.

I enjoyed Food Run a whole lot, and the N Verted level was so interesting. Also I love the skin that you can get from that level.

No dillo dallying is my favourite. I enjoy the dingodile part of the level and the part were you ride the barge roof is also harder then on the run it bayou level. I love the animation of the little Armadillo character that drives it lol. This game over all has been brilliant and they've done a great job. It's the right amount of hard. It's not to hard that it can never be beat but it's hard enough that you can beat every level with the right amount of patience and persistence.
Off Beat is certainly my favorite level to come from this game, so I’m at least glad to see it get the silver medal.👍🏽
My favorite crash levels are hit the road and a real grind because of the unique level design, and crash landed because of those cute little lizard creatures and the one at the ride section called Shnurgle.

I adore Cortex Castle. It's simply an improved 'The Lab' (Which is my favourite Crash 1 level) It's short, snappy, and (don't hate me) fun.

It would be interesting if they do a medieval dimension, but expand on it. Some ideas like:
-a level where you start off in a medieval village as you make your way up to the castle, and just as you get to the castle entrance, and enter, the level ends
-Next level would be going through the castle interior for the next 2-3 levels, with a boss in the tallest tower.
They did great with the prehistoric dimension, but imagine the possibilities for the medieval or Arabian settings expanded upon! And the futuristic Sn@xx dimension - that future setting was colorful, lively, and gorgeous!!
Nice video! Will you do the top 10 CB4 soundtracks? You mentioned them quite a few times here and they are worth discussing - especially if you're a Crash bandicoot fan who pays attention to that and any Easter eggs there might be.

The Crash Bandicoot 4 intro spin very reminiscent of Daxter from Jak and Daxter.
Rude Awakening - Crash Bandicoot 1's N.Sanity Beach, Jungle Rollers. A bit of Planet Florana from Ratchet and Clank 3 in there. And some Crash Twinsanity influence as well
N.Sanity Peak - Rayman 2 influence, especially when you discover Lani-Loli. Again some Crash Twinsanity elements. Swinging on vines definitely gives me Tarzan vibes from the PS1 game.
A Real Grind - The grind rail segments remind me of Rail Canyon in Sonic Heroes. Some segments giving me Tarzan vibes again.
Hit The Road - again the ball levels from Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex as you mentioned.
Booty Calls - Planet Ardolis from Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction.
Hook, Line and Sinker - again some Tarzan vibes, especially some of the later Tarzan levels. Sliding on the ropes, the setting.
Jetboard Jetty - some CB2 callbacks, again as you mentioned.
Give it a Spin OST remixes the Temple Ruins theme from CB1.
Draggin' On has the vertical thing going on (from CB1), as you mentioned in another video.
Off-Beat - Rayman 1, specifically the Band Land levels.
Run It Bayou - again CB2 callback. Bayou setting again gives me Rayman 2 vibes.
Snow Way Out - Kreeli Comet in Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction. Also some Rayman 2 influence, the music later in the level reminds me of the theme from Cave of Bad Dreams a little. Kapuna-Wa's time abilities remind me of Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time.
Stay Frosty - A callback to CB2 again, especially the music. Some of the music also reminds me of Pleasure Castle in Sonic Adventure.
Bears Repeating - again a callback to CB2.
The dinosaur themed levels we have had in the Crash Bandicoot games before. A little bit of Ratchet and Clank influence also especially the grind rail segments.
Out For Launch - Sonic Adventure 1/2/Sonic Heroes vibes again here. I can just imagine Sonic the Hedgehog in this level at the start instead with a succession of rings in the pathways at the start instead.
Crash Landed - again a Ratchet and Clank vibe, maybe like the Obani Moon levels from the third game (especially the music). Some of the gameplay has a Jak and Daxter element as well.
Sn@xx Dimension levels - Planet Kerwan and other city planets from the Ratchet and Clank games.
Nitro Processing - could easily be a later Ratchet and Clank 1/2 level. Music gives me Planet Snivelak vibes, mixed with Spyro 1.
Cortex Castle combines elements in the background of other CB1 levels, including The Lab, lights out, and in Seeing Double a little bit of Slippery Climb.
So basically Toys For Bob managed to properly embody classic Crash levels while adding new spins to them?
I just beat the game last night with green/red/blue gems missing (don't tell me where they are lol)
Not having played these 3 color gem routes yet, here's my top 10:
(10) A Real Grind - Not a very popular one I guess? It's short and neat, placed it on the list for playing too many times but still eager to find out 153th box I've missed lol. Also, this level is good candidate for gaining wumpa and lives once you lose in retro mode
(9) Out For Launch - I don't get why people seem to hate it a lot (because of Ika-Ika? But it's used in number of levels afterwards...), it's got one of the best designed bonus levels, the 2D area after bonus which you flip gravity to get through the foes is intense too
(8) Draggin' On - Not so many's favorite I bet, but I just don't feel bored replaying this level. A night level in the setting of Tranquility Falls makes it even cooler (but I dont particularly love Off-Balance lol). The fact that you use Akano most to climb up the mountain is splendid
(7) Bears Repeating - I know it's super notorious to runners aiming for perfect relic and even box gem alone is tough enough (the latter took me 80+ lives, simply won't try the former), but you must admit the road-to-nowhere vibe of skull route in 1st half (plus music) and polar section (ignoring controlability :p) in 2nd half make it out to be one of the most action-packed in entire game
(6) Snow Way Out - A soothing level to play with one of the best soundtracks, recalled how I struggled before I first got hands with completing the level in the demo, now I can do perfect run with ease :o) Everything about this level is decent, it will go down as one of best snow levels in the series
(5) Home Cookin' - A signature level for Dingo which well introduces him to players. Though not being too fanatic at the other timeline levels of Dingo, this easily goes on top on my list on how Dingo matches with the bayou and the food truck setting (plus the concept of cooking pot is cool) and recalled how impressed when I first controlled Dingo
(4) Hook, Line, And Sinker - Another neat level for introducing Tanwa. Like Home Cookin', the setting suits Tanwa in a perfect way. A refreshing level which you will easily gain satisfaction in almost every segment. The level design on the pirate ship is very amazing
(3) Booty Calls - This level has that charisma which makes me play over again and again. The setting of pirates is awesome (like Hook, Line, And Sinker). The railing section is one of the best compared to other levels in the game. You can not easily forget the soundtrack too :o) It's undoubtedly wise choice they show this level in the trailer few months before release
(2) Cortex Castle - I'm sure I do not need a detailed complement (and curse :p) of this level since most others have already done here :o) Nothing regarding this level is underwhelming (level design, difficulty, bonus level, soundtrack, how you push your instinct to extreme and apply your skills of the four quantum masks in the end). Unarguably the best final level in the series. This level is very well done though I definitely won't do the perfect relic :o(
(1) Off beat - No need to explain that much, this level simply makes you smile, period. The railing part with the ghosts playing orchestra, the cubical platforms which rage when you step on them, the cannon which fires Crash, the piano keys and background music. It cheers you up everytime you play it though.

Ive been dying 15 to 20 times each level, I know I know😂😂😂 I considered myself a Crash Bandicoot master until this game. I’m going to run through the game again after I beat it and really take time and enjoy how well made it was and all the secrets💯

Actually agree with the last one. Cortex Castle was awesome. And it’s not that hard either. I actually thought the two levels before it were a lot tougher. And there are plenty of levels were finding all the crates is a lot more of a pain. Especially Bears Repeating and Crash Landed.
My personal favourite is Run It Bayou but the rest of Mosquito Marsh is equally amazing
Controversial opinion: the music in this game is better than the originals. The fact that it's dynamic really sold it for me.
For example, when you get deeper into Cortex's lab in Stay Frosty, his theme gets incorporated into a song that sounds surprisingly Spyro and Crash at the same time. Its just pure awesomeness.
Or how cinematic levels like Snow Way Out and Dino Dash turned out to be. I could just go on and on, because of how many is stuck in my head rn.
Crash landed. Number 1 no doubt . Dude! This level is insanely beautiful and masterfully designed, platforming on alien turtles is amazing
I can deffo agree some of these would be in my top 10 as well :D with Hook, Line and Sinker being in there, Snow Way Out I enjoyed a lot, Out For Launch was great, oh can't forget Cortex's level in the dino world, I had fun there too lol X3 there's a lot of fun to be had hehe

Off Beat is a prime example of a great piece of music he made, along with Cortex Castle, Stay Frosty, and Food Run, to name a few others.

I notice that whenever I see gameplay of Cortex Castle the pink bars will remove an Uka Uka mask. I always die even if I have a mask when I play! I cant burn a mask to get through the beams at all.

Honestly, if the riding levels were in a tighter corridor, the one where you had to chase Cortex should've made this list. What ruined those levels for me is that the turning feels awful and is making collecting the boxes much harder than it should have been. Which is weird, because the part where you're in a ball feels perfect and it was basically riding Polar, but reversed with no boost.
I adore all the levels in Crash 4. But the levels where you have to ride got the short end of the stick.

As much as this game is causing me to beat my head against the wall trying to get the perfect relics, I do enjoy the challenge it gives me. I would love it if Toys For Bob gave us a few more dimensions as DLC.

My biggest complaint is about polar levels. But all the rest of the game is near perfect.
I would love the true crash bandicoot 5 being in this same art style and graphics, with also the same controls and mechanics. and i would love even more if they made another trilogy, focusing on a similar difficulty of this game, because this trilogy being harder would be even more memorable, and we can't doubt on their creativity on making awesome levels. and then another racing game that gets inspiration in this trilogy

I'm split between Food Run and Rush Hour for my favorite level.
Don't like the wall running levels or the rail grinding levels but I like the jetski levels and the mardI gras levels inspired by rayman legends no doubt!

I absolutely hated Cortex Castle simply due to the amount of times it killed me but it’s the level that has stuck with me most and definitely the best design. Just a shame I sucked so hard haha

Off Beat and Cortex Castle are easily my favorite levels too. However, I also really like Rock Blocked for being a lava level with a chase section (two of my favorite level clichés ever), and overall excellent design, even in the Dingodile section.
