@@Jinnyboy more Hokkien speaking story pleaseeeee
The Hokkien, Minnan/Ban-lam, Taiwanese/Taigi, Hoklo/Helou are all the same language roots originated from Fujian Province in China but spoken in different places. The close relative of Hokkien language are Teochew, Hailam, Leizhou language or dialects.
Happy to watch this short video clip in Hokkien language. Keong Hi Huat Chai to all.
I was having dinner alone in sg while watching this video, remind me so many sweet memories I had with my late grandma who was very close to my heart, my tear just fell down uncontrollably... Thank you JinnyBoy team for such touching storyline and amazing production, always producing high quality content with genuine connection with people & your audience.
Truly amazed to hear a dialect that is so rare now. I hope our dialect continues in many more generations more! Great work guys~!
what dialect is that?

I'm surrounded by ppl speaking hokkien teow chew and Hakka.
Guess it depends on who ur mixing with .
Many young generation cannot speak Hokkien. Hokkien used to be the Lingua Franca of overseas Chinese in Nanyang till 1970s.
Love to see hokkien dialect been used here. A truly heartwarming video for this Chinese New Year with our Malaysian comfort staple breakfast of Milo
I loved to hear y’all speaks Hokkien mix with English. Truly warms my heart. The actors are all so cute! Especially the Ah girl. Good job team! Wonderful production team!
thank you!
Thanks Jin and the team for the amazing video, touched all our hearts, hearing 月亮代表我的心 in the background was incredibly resonating. Hearing Hokkien for the first time in your videos was lovely, hope to hear more of my family's dialect! Keong Hee Huat Chye!
Thank you Jinnyboy team. So nice to hear this dialect after such a looooong time
thanks for watching
oh wait, gam sia gam sia
Penang Hokkien? Or Klang/jb accent?
@@ngcollin88 I think is klang accent
@@Jinnyboy 8i
it's funny, as a chinese filipino from the philippines, who comprehends hokkien when i hear it, i can understand almost 3/4s of the hokkien theyre saying and the equivalent pronunciation and vocabulary we'd use instead in the philippines
it's rare the younger generation now are able to speak in dialects, especially hokkien, teochew, hakka, etc... most parents choose to speak English with their kids, at this rate, dialects gonna disappear soon...
good job JinnyBoyTV for this meaningful CNY ads
This is so not true.....my dad willing to do and give everything to his grandchildren.....even I told him this is not right but he said he is ah gong he know better how to raise baby than us....this is so call 隔代亲.....same goes to when we were young our grandmom always cook the best for us ... worried we are hungry...😂😂..our grandparents is the best... although our parents love us too but love from our grandparents are different....so please forgive them you will know how after you got grandchildren
Absolutely luv it that this is in Hokkien !
Although it sounds like the girl who plays Rachel may not be a native speaker. BUT, who cares! So long as people continue to keep the dialect thriving!
SUBSCRIBED!
Like this dialect, miss that aunty next door...
了不起的Z世代里最可爱又乖巧懂事的那个小女生,妳演得真的很棒,表情很到位!👏🏻👏🏻也祝福妳的未来在各个方面都能越变越好。加油!
Wah this show is good eh...using dialect is more important than using mandarin. Dialect gives us a sense of belonging to our community
Thanks for watching!
Agree!
Its comforting to hear familiar dialect when least expected.
This short film makes me think of my grandfather... He passed away 2020 due to stroke...I still remember the good old days we spend together 🥺 kinda miss him thanks Jinnyboytv one of my favorite production team ❤️
This is an amazing short film bringing out the importance of spending time with our loved ones and cherishing the moments of togetherness, mad me really emotional as i remembered my memories with my grandfather whom i lost in 2017...
Great job done by the actors and the whole crew behind this masterpiece!!
Thanks for watching !

How come your surname is Zhang? In Hokkien it should be Teo or Teoh.
@@elootl meanwhile, in my country, it would be typically spelled "Tiu". if someone appeared with surname spelled as "Zhang" or "Teo" or "Teoh". ah we know where they must've come from lol
@@elootl Tiok ... I mean 对 😂
This year I am finally able to return home for CNY after 3 years! I can't wait to actually be present!
Hehe.. Cantonese check, Mandarin check, Hokkien check..next round try Hakka, teochew (^^)
Love it so much! 🥰 It’s really nice to hear this dialect as it’s part of my identity and it really gives the sense of belonging. Well done guys 👍
🙏
this video makes me remember of my childhood memories at kampung, with my grandparents which they do teach us a lot of valuable lesson. Thanks for the video.
Do people really drink that much Milo or did they just push product placement too far that it saturates the sentiment and lesson?
You guys never fail to deliver an awesome video. Keep up the good work! Loved the relatability of the video as well!
Thanks for watching
After such a long time.. Was waiting for new. Video... Always watching... Thank you for your hardwork... Alwys supporting... ☺☺
thank you!
4.46min, ah girl ah, why you never close the lid properly ?
Apart from the meaningful message from the video, Ive hardly see any elderly drinks Milo. In fact most people after 30's dont really touch this junk beverage at all. Cant even imagine serving it to your relatives during CNY 😅.
Why you make me crai
I want to be in this video to drink a lot of Milo®!
Nowdays internet has captured a lot of our time. We are used to ignoring the people around us. This short film remind us to pay more attention to our real life and family. Nice film!
I loveeeee this commercial so much really well produced 🔥🔥🔥
thank you, the team put their heart and soul onto this project
@@Jinnyboy i shared too all my friends and family and they all love it!!!!!💕 Team deserve more love for this💕💕💕💕
This is another very well done production! keep up the good work guys! Milo, your company definitely chosen a good partner to work with, JinnyboyTV is the one man. Yeah, always love to drink Milo, who can live without it. :)
So far this is the best CNY Ads that I watched in 2023. Nice!!
Great story that every Chinese family can relate to. I speak Minnan language from Taiwan. It was very interesting to hear the Minnan accent from Malaysia.
damn... now I miss my late grandpa. What an amazing short film!!
Wonder how long more our dialect can survive
Most malaysian Chinese is hokkienese, we should speak more hokkien than Cantonese.
Wah demand much 😅
yeah yeah, in my country, the chinese demographic already speak more hokkien. the others are mostly ??? or rare instances
It’s a shame my dad never passed down his Johor hokkien to us…
Johor Hokkien was cannibalised by 'Speak Mandarin Campaign' from Singapore since 1980s. It was Lee Kuan Yew and PAP's campaign to eradicate non Mandarin Chinese.
Love all your short movies ❣️☺️
Sending love from India 🇮🇳❣️❣️
the girl looks like shufaye and chinese actress zhang yuki
Can I know the lest song name😢😢?
Girl is very cute speaking hokkein
Aiyaa, watching this short film also make my tears drop...
Love this short film 👍🏻
So touching, although I don’t have lots of memories with my gong gong but it makes me recalled old memories with my ahma ❤ she lives forever in my heart
is the gong gong an actress in Malaysia? Did he perform in any TV show before? love to watch that. Remind me of my late grandpa
This really touched my heart. Sounds just like my household because we speak Hokkien daily. Great short film. ❤ 新年快樂🎆🍾️ to you all
tiba tiba rasa nak minum Milo hari ni....😅
I unsubbed from the Jinnyboy, Wongfu, Mingthing crowd years ago when I felt content just wasn’t the same anymore … but I feel like a child again being able to watch shorts that are made for the sake of entertainment, and not for any other agenda (yes I know this is a Milo add… but you know what I mean). Thank you for coming back in force and I’m glad I discovered y’all back this CNY. Gong Hei Fat Choi!
🥹 thank u
always amaze me! your story and i can clearly understand your dialect using in this short movie, feels like at home! thank you!
This video reminds me of bf's foster father whom passed away last week. He was the best milo maker in family and all the kids love to ask him make it whenever visited his house. He was actually teaching us how to make the best Milo (with his own recipe), before he went into coma then few weeks later passed away.
Oh, so sorry :(
Heartwarming & touching video. Very well done.
thanks!

Kids these days still speak Hokkien? wahh
Watching this in the UK while drinking milo brought from Malaysia…
Such a wholesome short movie! This should be shared among Malaysians regardless of race and religion!1
I enjoyed watching it. I learned valuable lesson from it. Amazing film. Thank you Jinnyboy team.

Syukurlah pelbagai bangsa yang dapat hidup harmoni dan sejahtera di Malaysia. Tempat lain pasti ditindas dan belum tentu dapat kebebasan dan kemewahan hidup sekarang. Bersyukurlah dan janganlah mencipta kebencian sesama kita. Hormati satu sama lain.
Rachel ah, I think gong gong give u chance la 🤭 Happy CNY to everyone at JinnyboyTV ❤️
A beautiful endearing grandfather and granddaughter understanding each other in this wonderful video!
Lovely ad. It's really touching. Happy to see gong gong and grandchild bonding. Happy Chinese Ney year Jinnyboy❤️😃😍🎉
What dialect were they using? Some of it was similar to taiwanese ...
Hokkien dialect originated from Southeast China just across Taiwan Straits. Now mostly spoken by Chinese in Medan Indonesia and Manila Philippines.
@@elootl not just manila in the philippines, there are those too in cebu, davao, sulu, etc.
Guys, I think this short film is sponsored by Ovaltine.
Love this story in Hokkien n English! Thanks so much fr Spore
Milo was the star here 🤣
Surely this has nothing to do with milo, right? Why would milo be featured as part of the video? No way milo could have sponsored the production of this video and the team, no?
I laughed so hard when she said “chia lat” 😂😂😂
Minor flaw is the radio cassette is not moving.
oops
Wah! Hokkien! So refreshing! 🥰
This story remind of.my grandfather n grandmother..amazing touching story....thanks to jinnyboy production
Classy commercial. Entertaining and heartwarming
Thanks!
Very cute video; nicely done, Crew! 👍👍
Hi Jinnyboy , good content as always. Well directed , well shot ,Good storyline to bring the message across .( despite heavily commercialisation 😆)
wow this is amazing as always but one special because I lost my grandma and I feel like a lot off what was said her was very meaningful and after losing her I realise how important it is to be present and to be here and just live your life and be active. Thank you it really means a lot.
Youngster still speak Hokkien?
Ah Girl ah… cannot anyhow look through Gonggong’s things without asking permission. Also would like to ask Ah Gong how come all the cups in his home is Milo brand, where to buy? 🤪

What's the wifi password? Milo? Hahahahaha

Wished I had such memories but they are non existent. To all who have loving grandparents and parents, cherish them. Blessings to all. 💖
Jin, another awesome short film of yours.
Love it!
So many depths of meaningful lessons to be learnt from here.
Rachel did an awesome job.
She's pretty girl.
Love the bonding build up between Rachel & Gong Gong.
Though it's plain to see that Milo is the "sponsor", but it was not so hard selling approach.
Good job👏👏👏
This is very well done and meaningful but somewhat it feels more like a cinematic version of Milo advertisement 🙂

What is the song played at the end of the video? May I have the title of the song? I love it very much.
Now I got to run out and get a can of Milo.
