I have more fun watching Me, Myself, and Die than I do anything on Netflix. Who knew dice, good story telling, and miniatures beats millions in budgets - love your stuff man.
And a lot of entertainment talent from Trevor too
I love the "If this was a roleplaying game, we might want to talk to them, but it's not so brrrr, brrrr."
Your enthusiasm is absolutely infectious Trevor; you really bring these games to life. And reinspiring mine own Five Parsec crew adventures.
You should check his enthusiasm when you play at 2x speed! He's downright neurotic at that point. :)
@@funwithmadness hahaha good shout
TTRPG (and solo at that) at it's finest! I actually find myself waiting for the next episode in this series. Thank you for your effort making these videos.
These terrain setup are outstanding! I can't get enough of your games.
Need to get an official Trevor sound effects pack!
He’s having way too much fun on this one. LOL
Always fun to watch grown-ups play with toys and have a good time. I like the scanner/communicator noises too. Reminds me of how my classmates and I would reenact/play act episodes of Star Trek (Original Series) running around in the play ground making phaser and tricorder noises and confusing the nuns.
I'm not nearly as attached to these characters, but all the same you've got me considering buying a tactical wargame for the first time in my life.
That was exciting, mission ended like a movie, the captain and his crew managed to escape the spaceship Acheron in the nick of time.
Excellent stuff👍😉
Really fun mission and very interesting to see the newer rules in action. Still amazed you were able to be Michael Caine to do the voice for Mara.
Great episode, the new setting and rule for salvage will definitely change up the campaign. I am definitely going to role up a new crew and run a 10 turn campaign to see if it is viable, but will add the travel portion of the original rules as they move to different salvage locations.
My absolute favorite playthroughs. Keep up the awesomeness, Trevor!!!! You've inspired me to buy way too much filament and pre-made terrain!!
49:40. Definitley. I consider the AI as a guideline, but often have the enemies act how I think is appropriate, even if it's not strictly what the AI says.
Hurray! I've been waiting for this episode specifically after the uh...difficult fight last episode lol
My own personal Trevor! Just what I always wanted
This is the turn that made me want to go ahead and implement all the new expansions.
Grats on hitting 20k subs
The 3 Parsecs games is what got me to subscribe. Love em.
The drama of that intro was so awesome...
... so glad you did this mission. I own the book, but had no idea this was even a thing. Dying to run one of these missions myself.
You played this so well. I was on the edge of my seat the whole video.
I absolutely love the energy and enthusiasm you put into these vids. You really know how to make the story come alive. It has now come to the point where I can’t watch stuff from other creators because they all seem so bland in comparison. I hope someday you consider doing a Five Leagues from the Borderlands or Five Klicks from the Wasteland series as i’d definitely be down for watching them too.
Wow.
That experience of slowly being overwhelmed by enemy forces, the natural progression from individual encounters to groups all the way to an entire room full of foes. Those rules really put pressure on the player, needing to move fast to get to all the points of interest, but spreading out too much to save time will result in seperated and lonely crew members being confronted with groups of enemies. That last encounter in your scenario really felt like the climax in a story, having gotten all they wanted, the crew is surrounded by enemies and they essentially jumpout of the window while bullets fly past them. The captain takes one final flesh wound (probably helping the wounded Kale out of the window) and they fly out into the sunset
This was a fresh way to vary up the kinds of missions, i'll need to get this supplement for myself. Also, awesome episode as always!
Woulda been hilarious if the contact marker that couldn't decide where it wanted to go was a Space Ferret or Space Hamster. +1 XP each Campaign Turn for a random Crew Member.
Its all your fault! haha. Already busy as heck with my other `group play` and family rpg games.. plus my solo rpg and miniatures campaign (long running), But this series gave me a lot of much needed inspiration to do something similar (solo) to Five Parsecs. Only I shall be using my own IGRADIC system I suspect:-) AMAZING stuff as always Trevor.
This is how your entertain your audience, great show once again.
On side note, I've been doing that space echo sound at least once a week for years. It's just fun to do.
Hey Trevor, I've been a subscriber since January 2019, right at the beginning and I'm so happy to see your channel grow, especially with you displaying content and hobbies many us passionate about and even inviting others to find entertainment and enjoyment into it with us.
Your imagination and characterization of each NPC and character is so enjoyable to watch and let's my mind wonder into a space of imagination, beyond, like a cinematic piece being brought alive within my thoughts. I love it. Keep it up, my man.
25:09 "If this was a role-playing game, he might want to talk to them, but this is a tactical miniatures adventure game, so he opens up!" I suddenly understand the difference between this series and previous series; I wasn't sure why I wasn't as engaged with this one until I heard that. It's still fun to watch, but I'm looking forward to when you go back to a more character/role-playing focused game, because you're such a good actor and so good at voices and storytelling, and that's what originally drew me to this channel.
OK, I believe you convinced me. I apologize for using Amazon for the core book. I am getting the expansions through your links. As someone who loaded up on the Terraclips (OP) stuff for Malifaux, I appreciate the love for card terrain. I also picked up Fice Leagues from the Borderlands and the Shantytown set from Battle Systems. I'll be able to use the latter for my test run of the PnP rules for Mutant: Zone Wars.
Love the energy, Trevor, and thanks for these playthroughs. Such a breath of fresh air compared to a standard battle report.
Trevor, Your enthusiasm is delightful in these videos. I recently started playing this game, looking forward to playing the new rules!
This serie keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to many more episodes.
A new episode! 🥳 Those long 13 days since the last one have felt like a lifetime 😆 I loved the intro which was a nice way to narrate Kale getting lost last episode 👍
I've got The Freelancer's Handbook so it was nice to see you playing some of the rules from it which I haven't yet played
As others have mentioned I would rather watch one of your episodes than a mainstream TV show. Apart from your obvious enthusiasm, another reason for this is how, with the roll of a die everything in the story can change and, unlike a TV show where the main characters rarely die because the show's producers always have one eye on the cash cow that is the next season so heaven-forbid a main character dies. In your show, any character is fair game. Please, keep playing it that way! 😊
Such a thrilling episode! Love how you try different supplements whenever possible, makes things even more interesting!
They sent the whole colony up there
This is probably my fav yt channel
LOL. Pop up Trevor at 42:04. Hilarious. Awesome episode.
He just keep on coming! That Post-production guy!! 😁😁
Thought a salvage mission would be less combat.
Thought it would be scary and sudden danger .
It seemed so eratic and VERY Random.
Doing a terrific job with it.
Please send data on the ship model please.
THANKS Charles
Another fantastic video in this series. Loved the board setup! I’ve played the Bug Hunt rules subset of 5 Parsecs and those contact markers on a dense board can get out of control really fast!
Another enjoyable episode thank you.
Just for the algorithm: I agree with all the wildly positive feedback in these comments. Keep up the great work! I’m hooked and looking forward to returning to my own campaign.
Dang that intro was funny
Great episode! This contact marker rule is great! OMG the tension it adds of having a reading moving and not knowing what it is!
EPIC Intro!!
awsome
Another great episode Trevor, great to see some of these new rules in action. Also loved the scanner sound effects!
Great episode trev! Thanks for the fun!
Awesome adventure, love this scenario. Definitely do another salvage mission when you get a chance. Also agree with the NPC moving for cover when stunned instead of shooting.
Fanatastic episode. I look forward to your videos. I’m really looking forward to playing this game
Awesome episode! Can't wait for the next one.
Love your energy!
Very nice! this is really good tutorial on the salvage mission. can't wait to try one out myself!
Awesome report, as always!
I see that you had someone spiral bind your book as well. Definitely easier than using the pdf on a device.
When you go beep beep beep, it sounds like someone’s urine collector indicator light has just changed to full.
Great fun!
Trevor! You found one rival with the captain bad mouth on this planet iirc. :P
Oh yeah. Well the crew is leaving the planet next session, so that rival will probably(!) not follow anyway.
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG I now wish they will haha! It would make an awesome story. Imagine someone following you through planetary systems just because you laughed behind their back about them getting bald. It would take a lot of dedication from that rival! :D
I really, really, really, really, reaaaeeellly wanted you to be facing some kinda genestealer style aliens, especially using the new pounce rules!! Oh well, but this mode, very tense settings, loved it, now I gota go get this expansion !
Those pesky imperial guardsmen! 😂
What a fun new set of rules! I love the exploration/salvage missions. Hope to see more of them i the future. This episode was a blast!
Also Trevor, with Range removed with the Dramatic Combat rules, does that mean pistols and rifles both have infinite range?
They still have their normal max range, there's just no hitting targets on 3+ within 6" in the open. It's either in the open within max range of your weapon (5+), or in cover within max range (6+). Certain weapons have mitigating traits - like pistols now get +1 to hit within 6".
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG Gotcha. Thanks!
Love your work Trevor! I am curious, what is the terrain you used in this? I’m loving your click together terrain you’re using for 5PFH. Apologies if you’ve mentioned it in another video 😂
I think it’s the Core Space terrain that comes in the box. It’s from Battle Systems
Lol great cold open
25:08 lol 😆 damn straight
Yessss, ive been waiting!
More hot find dance
Kill Team Rogue Trader board! I enjoy your shows.
Great playthrough. Question though - the first contact was to resolve once within 3" of any team member right? So wouldn't it have been revealed when it moved towards the wall? Fun stuff!
I thought that too, but I had cut all distances by 1” (when I remembered…) for the smaller table. Also, I liked the idea of the “mysterious blip” on the other side of the wall remaining hidden until they were within sight (or REALLY close… 2” in this case) 😁
The salvage rules seem interesting, though it looked like there was an awful lot to track.
Yeah, there is a fair amount. But that’s the price you pay for more detail :)
Sorry if I missed it , the rules you’re using for this episode are from the Trailblazers expansion?
Yup.
I recognise the card stock walls as Core Space, but what's the map you are using?
No host is as intrevid as you sir!
How big is your table usually? You seem to have such a compact hobby space, I’m jealous!
It’s only a 3x3 table. I’d kill for a proper production space with room to build actual sets for my various series. Perhaps one day…
Does anyone know what kind of terrign walls he's using?
Same two dudes just getting spawn camped.
Which battle system Terrain set is this ?
It looks like the Core Space set that comes in the box, but I’m not 100% sure
can you not dash in these salvage missions?
They have special rules, found in the Freelancers Handbook.
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG Cheers Trevor. I'm loving your videos. I have a similar excitment for my 5P adventures but with considerably fewer voices 😁
Just curious dude when are we going to see season for?
