WHAT DO BUTTERFLIES DO IN THE RAIN? SUMMER BUTTERFLY HUNT SOUTH FL

Have you ever wondered what butterflies doe when it rains???? In this video, Lorenzo and I go butterfly collecting in a thunderstorm and in part of the video, we will find hairstreak butterflies flying around and active in the middle of a very strong rain storm. After a few minutes, the sun came out and so did our nets! This is the process we took to obtain egg baring female specimens of the Amethyst hairstreak, Chlorostrymon maesites in order to document the lifecycle of this beautiful butterfly.
