    This helped me a bit thanks. My go kart wont slowdown/break and it has scrub breaks so I guess I just need new tires idk haha thanks

      MJ Barreca yes, new tires would help if yours are bald. You could try to go to a band break set up for more efficiency. Thanks for watching.

    I always come up with questions. so the brakes slow down and stop the wheels but what happens to the motor? It is still trying hard to spin fast. do the brakes fight the spinning engine? would that not be bad for the engine to fight the spin? seems that to suppress the spin while it is fighting you to keep spinning would be bad.

      The clutch disengages at around 2,000 RPM’s (depending on model) This disconnects the engine rotating assembly from the drive train. No damage will be done.
