Leo is a “Rock” star! I’m sad too, thinking that you two will be done soon. It’s been so fun to be on your journey. 🥾

So happy for you and Leo that you finished the crazy whites and soon will meet the summit of Katahdin.🏞 I guess we're not done holding our breath and white knuckling it yet watching you two. Hopefully its not as dangerous as Mt Washington. You're probably falling more now after the hardest section because you're more relaxed after that dangerous area. False sense of security I think its called.😅
Of course it will be bittersweet for all of us that have followed the dynamic duel for months, daily, through every kind of weather and situation. You always have a great attitude no matter what. You've very rarely complained about the trail, or what you may had been going through mentally or physically or the weather conditions, and always have a plan but can also go with the flow when plans have to change and never grip about it. And Leo is always your first priority. I really appreciated how you always find us great views to check out and give great tours of the accommodations, either hostels or shelters. We're so proud of you and Leo.
You're almost there guys, almost there. And then after, I hope we can watch Leo snuggle in his bed at home with his favorite stuffy for days and get ready for the next adventure ❤
Do you think at this point of the trail, with your knees hurting and slippery rocks, trekking poles would of helped or no? I saw some pretty durable, washable, reusable, fabric slip-on, non skid booties on Amazon, You just slip them over your shoes or boots. I bet those would work because theyre not rubber, crazy as it sounds. Might be worth the little bit of extra weight to slip on just before going down a slick rock face. Maybe you could do a gear review on them for the next adventure? They're called Myshoecovers.

Sheep Laurel, unlike mountain laurel grows in the northern states in bogy areas. We have it here in Michigan.

On the positive side..people pay a lot of money for mud baths and yours came free..sort of..not counting the bruises of course! Congrats on completing the Whites and having less than 300 miles left. I hope as you reach Maine, the trails will become easier and more enjoyable for you and that you do get to see one ir more Moose. I, too, will miss watching your videos each day, but will look forward to post AT adventures.

Those ponds come in handy at the end of the day for sure. It’s a great feeling when you see those miles ticking off towards the end of the hike. Make sure to wait out Katahdin for a good weather day if possible it’s that epic and totally worth it.

Congratulations! Don’t sleep on southern Maine. It was my hardest section on trail. My tramily thought so also. The steeps are ridiculous, but to me it was the most beautiful state on trail. Take your time because as soon as you’re done, you will wish you were back out there.

Just found your channel, you and Leo are doing great. The Whites are very rugged, and so is S. Maine.. How do you get Leo up laddered sections ? Bushwhack ? Or does he climb them ? Baxter State Park does not allow dogs.. How will you handle that ? Katahdin has some ledges with iron bars.... even if you have service dog papers, will you have to carry Leo in spots ?
He climbs them and is a service dog so he is allowed
Moose eyesight isn't great, but their sense of smell is excellent. They'll smell you way before you'd see them. Maybe in a pond....😂
