I'm French but Iris is still my favourite Miss Universe ever. There are many Miss France winners that I did not support, and initially I wasn't crazy over Iris, but after her performance at Miss Universe and watching her reign, she is definitely my favourite. Also a big fan of Pia, Riyo, and Leila.
I also love how much of a genuinely nice person she proved herself to be. She wasn't the most gorgeous girl who competed in Miss Universe 2016 (although obviously still gorgeous), but she proved herself to be the most deserving winner with her personality. I admire that.
Faves: • Riyo Mori - I don't know. She seems like a really thoughtful and approachable queen. • Dayana Mendoza - She's so bright and full of personality on stage without losing grace. I still hold on to her answer up until this day. • Sushmita Sen - A very remarkable and likeable queen. Her answer reflects so much about her; a woman of substance. • Lara Duta - It's nerve-wracking as is to stand on stage representing your nation, much more answering a question related to a coup'd'etat rallying outside the venue. • Leila Lopez - I think I love her for being true to her answer and devoting a large piece of herself to that answer. ALL TIME FAVORITE: *Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach* Plain and simple, she's meant to be a winner and her reign and performance proves that. EXCITED FOR *CATRIONA GRAY* THO. Very charismatic, likeable, amicable, and dedicated. she already was a part of Young Focus before being a beauty queen. She just joined pageantry for the sole reason to broaden the scope of her visions and projects. Plus! She's talented!
Lara the highest scorer in MissUniverse History with an approx of 9.9 in interviews, that record is still unbreakable. She became the first Indian to win a Swimsuit round (that's quite not acceptable in Indian Culture) but still she was able to get it. Her Final answer is considered to be the best answer of times.. with Pia & SushmitaSen. I'd want you to look at their performance..

Marvin Abad I agree. I think it’s also because it was very long and didn’t feel rushed. I was very excited when it was announced that she was going on Live with Kelly and Ryan but it felt not necessarily rushed, but it was very quick and I just wanted to hear more. I think it might also have to do with the fact that when Catriona talks, she just captivates you but regardless, I think she slayed each interview she’s had so far.

I don't really follow the Miss Universes after they are crowned so for me, I am going to base my ranking of Top 5 on their performance during the competition. For me, these 5 Miss Universes were in it to win it. 1. Lara Dutta (2000) - probably the smartest and the most eloquent Miss Universe. Her interview and Q and A to me are among the best. 2. Dayana Mendoza (2008) - the best performance over-all. Catwalk, Swimsuit, Evening Gown - superb! 3. Catriona Gray (2018) - we all know that. IN IT TO WIN IT! 4. Paulina Vega (2014) - you can tell that she enjoyed the competition during swimsuit, evening gown and even her Final Look, she was having fun. 5. Oxana Fedorova (2002) - she is the real Miss Universe 2002. Nobody else. Whatever happened during her reign is irrelevant to me. She is the most beautiful Miss Universe ever.
Omg you really going to make me do this? Hahaha Ok here goes ! 5. 2009 Venezuela That red dress she wore is second only to Cats from this year. Her red lipstick was so perfect, she was stunning in both gown and swim. I loved her Latin flair. She seemed like a fun person to meet. 4. 2017 South Africa I loved her sweetness and her character. Most importantly I loved that she actually punched a guy when she was attacked in SA and started he own self defense program to help others. 3. Angola She was so beautiful, but I love her most because I don’t think she thought she was going to win. Like I feel like she was surprised every time they called her name. Watching her win was so great. 2.2002 Russia The absolute most beautiful MU EVER in my opinion. Her scores were incredible during competition also. I also think this is my favorite production of the pageant in general ever also. This years show was very well done. Beautiful backdrops and music throughout. 1. 2008 Venezuela Omg like you said, that walk in gown.... stunning. She was so flowy and fun. Her confidence was all you could feel and she looked so beautiful. Her answer was also great about men going straight to the point and woman always having to take the curves and the long way lol Honorable mentions 1989 Miss Holland Angela Vissers. I loved her because she was so unbelievably sweet. I was very young when she won but I was such a huge fan of the pageant. In 1989 she was the pinnacle of beauty for me, and she was a standout of my childhood. 1994 Shusmita!!! India Best answer ever given hands down in my book!! I know Brooke lee also nailed it but she was more funny, shushmita nailed it! I recently watched an interview of hers. She talks about that question, and recited her answer perfectly. She mentioned she has been told her whole life that her answer was very good and she explains it more in detail. It’s on RUclips 2018 Phillpeans Gotta say the turn, red dress and overall presentation poise and confidence was textbook “How to win MU” the fact that she worked so hard at miss world and placed First RU also makes me glad she took it home. No title holder has been able to surpass her to this day!
Pia Wurtzbach is my number #1 favourite of all time as well!!!!! 😃🙌🏾🙈🥳🔥 She literally SWEPT the competition in such a classical yet fiery way, and her beginnings in pageants back in 2013 till her *_ICONIC_* win in 2015 is one of the most compelling Cinderella stories in pageant HERSTORY! Her win will literally go down as one of, if not the most memorable and unique crowning moments in Miss Universe history OF ALL TIME! 🙌🏾👑✨

Marvin Abad I agree. I think it’s also because it was very long and didn’t feel rushed. I was very excited when it was announced that she was going on Live with Kelly and Ryan but it felt not necessarily rushed, but it was very quick and I just wanted to hear more. I think it might also have to do with the fact that when Catriona talks, she just captivates you but regardless, I think she slayed each interview she’s had so far.

1. Oxana-the most beautiful miss U winner (2nd Amparo Munoz) and my all time fav winner.
1. Cartriona - total package Miss U and expected and a sure winner. She will be known for her the "silver lining answer" and "lava walk and slow-mo twirl." She is still in her early reign but eventually she will be one of the all time fav winners like Oxana (she will be rank 5th in most beautiful winner of all time).
1. Pia - Confidently beautiful with a heart. She is surprised winner and will be forever known the infamous wrong announcement of Steve Harvey. Completely agreed, she handled grace under pressure will all the bullying and harsh criticism thrown at her and because of that she deserved to be in my number 1 fav winner along with Oxana and Catriona.
4.Sushmita - essence of a woman and the perfect description of being the real essence of a Miss U winner. She is a surprised winner due to Miss Colombia was the heavy fav to win that year.
5. Dayanara Mendoza her bubbly personality especially on the stage.

I don't really follow the Miss Universes after they are crowned so for me, I am going to base my ranking of Top 5 on their performance during the competition. For me, these 5 Miss Universes were in it to win it.
1. Lara Dutta (2000) - probably the smartest and the most eloquent Miss Universe. Her interview and Q and A to me are among the best.
2. Dayana Mendoza (2008) - the best performance over-all. Catwalk, Swimsuit, Evening Gown - superb!
3. Catriona Gray (2018) - we all know that. IN IT TO WIN IT!
4. Paulina Vega (2014) - you can tell that she enjoyed the competition during swimsuit, evening gown and even her Final Look, she was having fun.
5. Oxana Fedorova (2002) - she is the real Miss Universe 2002. Nobody else. Whatever happened during her reign is irrelevant to me. She is the most beautiful Miss Universe ever.

That red dress she wore is second only to Cats from this year. Her red lipstick was so perfect, she was stunning in both gown and swim. I loved her Latin flair. She seemed like a fun person to meet.
4. 2017 South Africa
I loved her sweetness and her character. Most importantly I loved that she actually punched a guy when she was attacked in SA and started he own self defense program to help others.
3. Angola
She was so beautiful, but I love her most because I don’t think she thought she was going to win. Like I feel like she was surprised every time they called her name. Watching her win was so great.

The absolute most beautiful MU EVER in my opinion. Her scores were incredible during competition also. Her gown was stunning and I know you have said you didn’t really like it in past videos, ( if I remember correctly, not to quote you or anything ) I thought it was simple and elegant. I also think this is my favorite production of the pageant in general ever also. This years show was very well done. Beautiful backdrops and music throughout.

Omg like you said, that walk in gown.... stunning. She was so flowy and fun. Her confidence was all you could feel and she looked so beautiful. Her answer was also great about men going straight to the point and woman always having to take the curves and the long way lol

1989 Miss Holland Angela Vissers. I loved her because she was so unbelievably sweet. I was very young when she won but I was such a huge fan of the pageant. In 1989 she was the pinnacle of beauty for me, and she was a standout of my childhood.

Best answer ever given hands down in my book!! I know Brooke lee also nailed it but she was more funny, shushmita nailed it! I recently watched an interview of hers. She talks about that question, and recited her answer perfectly. She mentioned she has been told her whole life that her answer was very good and she explains it more in detail. It’s on RUclips
