I love these speakers so much, refinishing my second pair and im gonna stack them. Replaced the capacitors and resistors too, and upgraded/soldered the internal wiring and even added gold banana jacks
I'll be attempting this soon on a pair of Infinity Sterling SS 2003s I picked up second hand. Fingers crossed!
I absolutely LOVE your couch and pillows!
You should lol 😂
Fantastic speakers... i bought a pair new, in 1980. I was the envy of my dorm. I kick myself for getting rid of them. May have to track down another set...
Nice job!
Excellent explanation.
Great stuff man❤️
Thank you 🙏
very nice
You are exceptional 🔥🔥🔥💎💎💎🔊🔊🔊
If it doesn’t work you are stil a superstar.😱💎💎💎👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Thank you my friend
I use black shoe polish the one with the foam applicator on the end to re color the paper cone.😁😁😁😁
I am currently refoaming a subwoofer driver from an old Philips Matchline 28ml8805 crt tv, the subwoofer inside of those tvs rot easily so i had to refoam it with a rubber surround (i collect speakers, thats why i have it)
That's awesome. If the Mrs. allowed it I would collect a lot more speakers than I already have.
@ Audio Arkitekts. One old timer tech suggests that we should connect the speaker with a signal generator and sweep with low frequency signal. This is better way to center the cone instead of hand. What do you think ?
Yes there could have been a better way to do it however this was the method suggested by Simply Speakers!
You shouldn't paint the frame, unless you used epoxy paint. Paint peels so most likely you will have a blowout sooner or later if you push it. You should have cleaned the paint off of the surface that you're going before you let it dry with a solvent to get good adhesion. I just finished regluing the surround back to the frame on a Phase Technologies subwoofer because they painted the frame from the factory and it let loose.
I thought those were advent loudspeakers, I see you have them classified as A threes
Originally $135 per pair in 1977 according to audiogon bluebook
Sorry bou’t your hand👍☺️
Thanks 🙏 it’s almost all healed up
