on my hands and knees praying for a short mode with only 100 floors or something... I really like the game, but my biggest gripe by far is that your two options for playing are "spend 6+ hours on a single run" or "play at 5x speed like a zoomer playing an emulator on their phone"
I'll consider it. For now at least there's the dailies with only 50.
Lmao the actual creator answred
2-3x, and make the run more memorable by adding self imposed challenges or "rules". Thank me later ;))
I remember the video guy saying that it auto saves after every battle. You can take breaks
@@FlashfireEXnice game! Thanks for putting the time If that’s you!
5:12 I've learned that sucker punch doesn't check if the opponent uses a status or attacking move. It just does the damage like a regular attack. So in effect it is a dark type quick attack at the moment basically.
Focus Punch is also insane, it is just a 150 base power 100% accurate fighting move with no downsides.
@@kmaul111 Same goes for Belch.
@@kmaul111and my dumbahh didn’t teach it to my breloom, which would’ve saved me against Ray 💀
even on a switch xD
alolan grimer's poison point also procs on the contact made by your own moves lol
Love the reaction to Ivy's Rayquaza.😂Unfair indeed.
Tip for those who are playing this, you can use a rare candy to go beyond the level cap
i said that to
Finally beat this god damn game, thank you charizard for being immune to earthquake and for torterra with max attack sweeping the level 200 thing
If anyone wants a good starter option. Flamigo is worth 3. Same as all the starters. It basically one shots the first area up to like 20.
YES! My first one had a timid nature, even with the attack nerf, it still got me through most of the game.
I also found that Excadrill is insane to have around. Spamming EQ next to Flamigo is so good for double battles.
tecnician meowth goes really hard too
and can provide support for later in the game too with fake-out
@@Blutexdoingstuff I was gonna use one on one of my runs but found Skitty first. Later found out that Delcatty has a 400 BST. That is the same as Charjabug and Volbeat.
Snorlax goes crazy though
Same mon I was using as an easier start until I hatched a custom tyranitar with a unique name. Forgot the name but it's rock electric and has godzilla glowing green spikes
Man, you're doing leagues better on a single run than I've done so far! I will say, the inclusion of giving the Let's Go exclusive moves to Pokémon was a delightful choice. Here's two of my favorites so far: Finneon gets Bouncing Bubble. Strong STAB that also drains HP is huge for a normally pretty mediocre mon. Psyduck gets access to the Lake Trio's signature move Mystical Power, which makes it a really good for mixed or pure special sets.
I also want to know how Gimmighoul evolves in this game now that I've caught Gholdengo. Given it only learns two moves it's quite a challenge to use in runs!
Sucker Punch, from my experience, is not fully implemented because it doesn't take into account the move they use. You basically have a 70 BP priority move with no downsides.
One of my go-to mons is Kanga, but because mine got power up punch as an egg move, it gets fake out early and the boosts carry over between battles(unless they reset, when you see your character), which is pretty insane. It's bulk helps a lot and learning a very spammable Is busted. Only downside of Kanga is that Scrappy isn't implemented, so you are technically walled from ghost types until you learn bite
I found out how to play! It's so heartbreaking when you get swept.
I've been playing more and got to 200 (G-max corviknight and meowscarada spamming hone claws is insane) and my main issue is that it's pretty much impossible to get past the start if you don't get xp items since you get really underleveled. Other than that it's amazing!
@@LimeLoaf If you start a game with a Pokemon with the purple box around it you won't ever need to worry about Lures, +XP items and rare candies, it will give all your Pokemon pokerus and you get 50% more XP.
First time I reached the Area Zero + Final Boss in this game was actually chilling. I usually play games with very low volume and listen to podcasts while playing, but everytime I hit the last stage of a run on Pokerogue, I turn the volume to max. That shit is INSANE, the mood is just perfect. From the last rival fight to the very last boss, this game has the perfect vibes for a great ending.
Any tips for a newcomer like myself 😅
@@erianpeterson3431 Cal already posted a video about some of the core stuff like leveling strategies and what to buy in the store, so I won't go over those. But one thing he didn't say that I found to be incredibly useful on my runs is finding and feeding a powerful solo hyper carry.
The first time I won, I started my run with a power-up punch kangaskhan, that hatched from an egg (btw the gatcha is busted, no mather which one you pick, rolling on the gatcha is a surefire way to find a carry). After getting a mega ring and evolving it to Mega Kangaskhan, it would one shot almost anything with fake out, and two shot literally anything with power-up punch + double edge. I went through 95% of the run without ever switching kangaskhan out, and I don't think it ever died. Part of that was due to me jamming every single item I found on him (the vitamins and fruits in particular). Having a solo carry is useful in PokéRogue because you really don't want to switch a lot, since that opens you up to taking damage, and you don't wanna waste money and items on healing. My second and third victories were also with solo carry mons, on the form of Zamazenta Crown and Origin Palkia (they start as their normal forms, but having them on your team allows their evo items to appear ramdomly on the shop). It goes without saying, but you want a really powerful mon as your solo carry, like a legendary, a pseudo, or someone who can gigantamax or mega evolve. It can be done with mons without these atributes, but it will be harder.
Now, if you haven't seen the final boss yet, this last tip will be a spoiler, so read at your own discretion. The final boss of every run is Gigantamax Eternatus, and he runs a moveset of Flamethrower, Dynamax Cannon, Sludge Bomb and Recover (I think that's it at least, not 100% on sludge bomb). He has two phases; the normal Eternatus one and once you beat it he heals to full and Dynamaxes. He has a fuck ton of health, outspeeds nearly anything and one shots almost any mon without resistances. The secret to beat him, I find, is to just have a lot of offensive power against his weaknesses, so a lot of powerful STAB ground, psychic, dragon and ice moves, across your whole team. This is pretty much the only fight where you REALLY need your other team members, aside from your main carry. Also it's good if your carry happens to have really good special defense too, since Eternatus is all about those powerful special moves.
the monotonous "oppa gangnam style" took me tf out. you keep finding the coolest pokemon fangames and romhacks, and this one like you're perfectly in your element. keep going!
Saw your video on this and now Im absolutely ADDICTED!!! Would love to see more videos on this!
i tuned into every new series of yours over the years, some lose my interest, others i finish until you're done
this one is definitly a keeper, love the vids ❤
that rayquaza one shot my whole team
I’m telling you get a mega pidgeot and he’ll carry you like if you can hit hurricane then you pretty much one shot almost anything
Saaame UGH
@@TheBrownieMan69taking this advice for sure 🩷
My team was destroyed before the rayquaza. My persian was the only one left when I got to it, and I managed to damage it to 1/3rd HP. SOO close.
Once I started yesterday thanks to your video, I haven't stopped playing it. Thank you!
I actually lost my first run, but what a run it was lol.
I had an Annihilape and nearly wiped in the Desert area to a Mudsdale right before the Gym. I swept it and it saved the run, but it eventually died to the Rayquaza.
I can't wait for the nuzlocks people will come up with 😊
I got to room 200 and I haven't been able to beat this run, and I'm really upset because it really doesn't feel fair to the player. Putting everything below so people can avoid spoilers, but it's somewhat soured my taste on playing just because it's so... unfair. It doesn't feel worth it.
Eternatus not only can one-shot your mons but also steals your items and applies them to itself, but it also has recover... which FULLY heals any damage you do, not to mention every time you get one of its health bar brackets to drop it gets a stat increase. The closest I've gotten is half health, which it instantly healed. Pressure is also insanely difficult to deal with, and you run out of moves extremely quickly. It isn't the 'fun challenge' kind of difficult, it's the hairpulling kind of difficult, and it's a little... I dunno, demotivating? What's the point of going through an absolute gauntlet, only to be smacked with an absolute bullsh*t boss that seemingly wasn't balanced at all. The Dev really needs to give it an overhaul at some point, but I get that's not top priority as of me typing this.
Go back through and pick up Pokemon that counter Eternatus along the way. That's how I won on my 2nd try.
@@HoodlumCallum I’ll try that. Maybe I was just having such a bad time cause I wasn’t sure what to expect. I ended up losing that run, but oh well. Tis the name of the game.
Starting playing this today after watching the first video, and this game really is a lot of fun! I hope to see more videos on the game :)
5:00 Sucker punch seems to fail in that it ALWAYS goes first, even when the opponent isn't readying an attack. So it's incomplete, but to our advantage.
Awesome to see this being played, after watching you play RogueLike this is a cool change.
I found that out with the (P) and (N) today myself. I used Emboar and teached it Heatcrash and it always only did like 1 damage despite emboar being much heavier and stronger
Monotype/challenge videos of this game going forward would be awesome! Also thank you for letting us know it's able to be played on mobile. I'm about to get lost in this game 😂
Finally managed to beat the game. It is BRUTAL.
Surprisingly, Lokix was the MVP of my team alongside Gmax Snorlax. Such great variety with egg moves and potential strategies have made this a ton of fun.
Brother I would absolutely watch more of these. Please feed my hyperfixation
had a really fun first time earlier today, but lost to the 145 battle i panicked but would recommend to friends who like pokemon as well. thank you for showing us the game.
You can go over the level limit by using a rare candy :)
I got addicted to this in a day... i got to 200 today.. was not ready for that. Have been a big fan of Hawlucha as a sort of carry in this game
Yeah 200 surprised me too, been struggling to get there again
I pulled a shiny iron valiant that dealt with the rayquaza pretty well, eternatus not so much
I would guess that the ice move for Castform could be Avalanche
how do you make your pokerouge run well? mine kinda freezes and stuff like that
Got my first good run today. That 145 battle is brutal. Wad absolutely carried by dragon dance gyarados
One grasp I have with the game, is that in endless mode, you can't really get vouchers. Which I get why, since they are tied to the gym battles and all but yeah
(Removing the low chance in shops, but that's like 1 every so much)
You can get Vouchers in Endless, actually. You just get them every 50 waves.
@@Hyperneosonic97 I guess I didn't notice the amount, idk why I struggle with endless more, so only a few attempts made it past 50s
@@Joel97_ Endless is better for Legendary/Shiny Hunting, though..
Excited to get home from work and download the game
Holy heck that Rayquaza battle sheesh
I decided to play this after just watching your first episode and some friend recommendations. I somehow beat the final boss in my first run. Extremely clutch Freeze Dry freeze from Kureum.
How are you getting so many held items? My run where I won I only got exp items, dynamax, and tera. But no tera crystals or mushrooms, either, so I couldn’t even use it. Alongside no held items. On my second big run and experiencing the same. Its so weird. Is this just really bad like on my end?
It was a little misleading, but it was representative of something that was in the game and was far from clickbait and certainly nothing to get mad over.
Getting a breloom early helped out throughout my run i actually traded my grooky for it because it gets powerful early on and comes with stun spore or spore
The game looks super fun! Is it just me or does the the link/website not work?
I died on floor 145 accidentally, i forgot to close out the tab and come back so it does not save and i did that like 10 times but that rayquaza that ivy had was hell to beat, and the funny thing is, ivy’s team was tera blaziken, noctowl, garchomp, tyranitar, SHINY rayquaza, and a pokemon i still was not able to see
Interesting things I found out, you can use DNA Spilcers on any pokemon to make a fusion
lost my last run on floor 200 ;o; fun game tho ty for showing us
also is there a discord or something for the game?
The rayqauaza just one shot my glaceon, I can’t brother 😔 (I also got messed up by the ferala due to a speed increase when they were 1Hp, when I had a primarina that also had icy wind 🗿)
Ah I got to that rayquaza battle yesterday and wiped at last hit because I clicked hi jump kick instead of close combat with hitmonlee and final mon lived with a pixel :(
Game is mad fun tho.
Wat about trade evolutions or is it just a certain level?
Suckerpunch can hit even when status moves are used
How do you change the controls or use a controller? Using the arrow keys and enter button is not ideal.
I'm not sure but I know you can use Z as A and X as B, aswell as WASD. (I also really hope mouse controls are somehow implemented)
For those struggling to win the best strat is 1) have a fairy type to switch on dragon moves the ai just not smart enough to play around it 2) supportive Pokémon that can paralyze, sleep, lower stats etc. of rayquaza and eternus the only real threats of the endgame. Personally I had corvinite with scary face and raichu with nuzzle + encore
Made it to 190 today and got so dang close. I'm getting closer and closer to winning I'm addicted to this game
I finally beat the game yesterday
If im on my phone can I use a controller?
I played this game today and got a Shiny Rattata. I thought the odds were hella increased so it makes it a lot cooler to hear that they're actually 1/2048
raichu carried my run with zippy zap
priority and 100% crit with 80bp and 100% accuracy is insane
I think it’s cool that we’re experiencing another Longtime series I hope you enjoy PokéRouge Cal !
Dude I can barley get to floor 20 😂😂any tips please
I've been trying to load this game on mobilein my browser, but it doesn't load anything. Does anyone have any help for this?
Sucker punch hits even if you didn't attack. I got wiped by enemy sucker punch
I just beat the game again and this time it was really easy with Whimsicott and Skarmory. If you start with Skarmory then Eternatus will use Dynamax Cannon so you switch to Whimsicott. It will fail bc it's a fairy type. But even then it will recharge which allows you time to use Leech Seed. Then switch back to Skarmory for the incoming Poison attack. Rinse and repeat untill you go the 2nd stage. Leech Seed again, use Pokemon with high special defense (try to get +sp def items before the battle) and just chill with some ground/ice moves or moves that lower it's sp att. 1 pokemon died during the final boss lol.
Axew gets Behemoth Blade. I think that's all I need to say
Also, I learned that EXP All stacks uo to 5 of them, so 100% exp to the back
You wiped where I did - I had the Blueberry Academy E4 instead though. Didn't have enough Dragon coverage so Drayton took me out.
I managed to make it all the way to the end on my third attempt last night and that last fight was absolutely impossible for me. Idk what I need to do. Also got a shiny fennekin from an egg so that’s cool.
I pretty much played this and I made it to floor 200, and my goodness it was challenging.
Can you add a link to their discord server for people who are having trouble playing the game?
I tried plaplaying but only got a black screen
You can access it by pressing esc
@@HoodlumCallum oooooooh
Tysm!
I tried this for the first time and found it pretty easy.
My team was Delphox, Samurott, Meowscarada, Pawmot, Mismagius, and a Pokémon I don’t remember cause I never used it.
Double Shock is busted as it’s 120 Power, 100% accuracy, and since the move isn’t finished, has no drawback.
I actually beat it on my first try! :D
I love PokeRogue so much it has me in a chokehold I'm obsessed with the daily run challenge. But the 200 Floor run is going fine cause I was able to start with a Dialga with the egg move Spacial Rend
Because that makes sense
Love this game and am subbing for more.
My first shiny was a combee male
insane game
I’ve never really been into fan games before but I absolutely love this one!! My only complaint I have is the trainer AI. They swap out Pokémon waaaay too much
Can’t for the life of me get past 145 I’ve had 3 runs now where it felt like I was fully setup just to get bullied by Ivy’s Rayquaza
wait until battle 200.. i genuinely think it is actually impossible to beat
Just got my first W, snorlax blaziken op (also tyrunt is a sleeper pick)
I somehow managed to beat the boss on the 200 floor
I pressed everything on my keyboard, how do I open the menu to roll eggs?
Esc key
9:36
Thats what she said.
they should give anger shell to golisopod as a hidden ability or something
it would still be bad but it’d be better than emergency exit
I recently managed to beat the Rayquaza with luck. This game is amazing
More poke rogue!!!
FUN FACT if you use a rare condy on a pokemon thats at the level cap in pokerouge it will surpass the level cap ex: my ralts is level 16 the level cap i use the rare candy it will become level 17
stupid question, what is the b button in the menus of this game?
X
Its definitely not for the faint of heart, especially when your rival literally cheats occasionally, i got to round 145 twice (first attempt and 5th attempt) on that 5th attempt i kid you not i killed all of her pokemon and her last mon had quite literally 0 hp in his bar and managed to kill 2 of my mons in a row and ended my run (i also hit him 3 times in this 0 hp state too) gave up lol
I just beat it for the first time... I gotta say, it's impossible without tanks. My GOAT was a Serperior with Sappy Seed (egg move), Coil, Giga Drain and Slam. He freaking swept once I got him to set up against a physical attacker. My elite four was Fire/Fairy/Grass/Dragon so it wasn't good for the matchups but STILL... He freaking smashed.
The end is MUCH much harder than the elite 4 tho :|
FUN FACT if you use a rare candy on a pokemon that's at the level cap in pokerouge it will surpass the level cap ex: my ralts is level 16 the level cap i use the rare candy it will become level 17
Aegislash is really good i used him alone to 1v6 the champion and rival
How high can a Pokemon's level get?
Sadly can't play from mobile phone
Yeah this game is crazy, the trainers switch more than the average competitive player, which is funny.
Also because the game saves after each battle, you can actualy save scum your way through by simply refreshing the page and reloading the game.
Also, for the love of god and all that is holy do NOT bring leftovers to stage 200, it will not end well for you if you are not prepared.
And if you thought that Rayquaza was crazy, wait untill stage 195, it comes back...as a mega.
As for the stage 200 boss, i honestly have no idea how to beat it, regular damage doesn't seem to do enough, trying to setup your stats is just going to get you killed. The only thing i've noticed from my last run was that moves like Ruination was dealing 1 shield worth of damage per use, so maybe %hp damage moves is the way to go.
I Can’t Find Pokerouge Can Show People How to Load It Up On Mobile
it's pokerogue, not pokerouge
This game is already great, multiple runs and I have been swept by crits and things that I wasn't ready for ;^;
Also, I may or may not have forgotten my password for this game and I don't have a link to their discord...help?
I really liked this idea, but it focuses too much on doubles, which I hate. Guess I'll wait for a potential mode without it.
I done it. I made it to 200. Mega pidgeot carried
Friendship evos don’t work at all
yes they do, you just have very limited ways to gain friendship
You got the golden PokeBall on the 50
I got it on the 90
I still have no idea what it does, lol
And after watching this I finally know why my rivals meganium was such a weird color and kinda glowing
He had tera, damn
And damn, that was a freaking rough wipe
The golden pokebals increases the amount of items you can pick from by 1 for each golden pokeball you have. Also you can hover your cursor over the icons at the top of the screen to see what they do.
@@legeul OOOOOOOH, I did notice that I had one more option, but didn't really connect the dots, lol
Pokerogue with honedge is easy. I 1v6d the champion and rival with it

Make videos
I wish there was a mobile version
There is, go to the same site on your phone
Just got to site on your phone works fine on iPhone at least
This game is so awesome i played a bit of it and got up to like the 80th battle and got wiped by a swift swimming wave crashing floatzel 🥲
