Quite nice understated watch which I could easily live with. Great to see something that isn't NH35 powered. The price of about £400 plus whatever customs add on seems pretty reasonable.
Was not getting your channel notifications...? Thought you ‘were on a break’ Like this one a lot. Reminds me of the Rado Captain cook, also a slightly larger version of my RLG odyssea(But with the body movement)...Thanks for the great review!
Good looking watch, looks like a cross between a 50 fathoms & the Glashutte divers. I'd forgotten about their previous offering, really did like that one...at least I'm back to work now (retail, been furlough for a year! ) so I can start looking for that next purchase again 👏🏻 Cheers Mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Steve! Yeah I think it certainly has elements from things we've seen before yet not being a direct homage of any one piece I know of. All the best for your next acquisition :)
Good morning Sir. I like the subtle dial colour. At first, it looks like a clipping from an old airforce flight jacket with the center cleaned and polished, I like that. So, is that crystal an inner dome? And with a coat or two of AR? I like the blue reflection and dome look. It looks like it's thin, 12mm? From the side you can see it's not. Is this a known brand? Bracelet of flat links with little design, push pins, ? Several likes but, personally, not for me at this price even after 35% discount. Oh, I also like the date at 6 o'clock. So many designers went to a 3 o'clock date. Nice to see a little old school. Nice watch and as usual, great review.
Dive watch competition is brutal at the $350-500 price point. Is that beautiful case back worth an additional $200-250? Who knows but they need to improve on spinnability. Great review👍
Nice review, thank you!! New to your channel and subbed after that review. I really like that watch but living in EU and the company in New Zealand makes it not worth buying. The price right now i believe is fair for the specs, but with custom charges and 24% Vat when it reaches Greece, is too much :(
@@PerthWAtch Hello again! You have reviewed both watches that interest me. This one and the axios flagship defiance. From a man that held both in his hands is there any advice for which i should go? I contacted Beaufort and they informed me that in US there are no import charges for goods under 800$.
Really? I think it's rather distinct from the Baltic Aquascaphe actually (if that's the model you mean). As for Steinhart... aren't they just Rolex homages?? :D
been umming and arhing about backing this one, its a great looking piece and I'd probably go for the chocolate dial but its a bit too close to my black sand Swordfish....they have a pastel blue in a stretch goal which I'd be all over except they've executed the dial with white markers and accents and it looks completely washed out....anyway great looking watch, I haven't completely discounted signing up just yet if I can fall for one of the other colours, great review as always, thanks Ivan
Nice Looking piece i like it ,hope they improve the lume & a relatively long lug for a rather flat case but still attractive nonetheless . Solid & sound review as ever , definitely a worthy diver to view quite similar to the current offering from Montage .
That is a nice little watch it kind of smells a little bit like the undone Basecamp model. We can't judge the spinnability on a sample box we are just going to have to take it on faith that it'll have decent spin.
Hello again! You have reviewed both watches that interest me. This one and the axios flagship defiance. From a man that held both in his hands is there any advice for which i should go?
@@PerthWAtch thank you very much for the response and the nice reviews! The only thing that makes the scale move a bit to the Beaufort is it's movement, but the design and bracelet of the axios ,as a more vintagie look makes me want it . I was hoping that you had run up to any kind of issue in one of them that would help my choice 😁.
@@PerthWAtch Appreciate the help! ❤️❤️❤️. The third i consider is the Lorier Neptune lll. I believe if you could get it in your hands for a review would interest you! Cheers!
The initial sale price is attractive, but $800NZ is about $580US. That's pretty steep. I am interested in the blue version, but the angular bracelet and no lume on the bezel really raise questions. Considering the case shape, lugs and crystal I think the Beaufort is a midpoint between the RLG Oceanfarer and Lorier Neptune - which are both without date function but otherwise are quite similar. Bot significantly cheaper. It's a tough sale at the price.
@@PerthWAtch online purchases require a little faith of course. The bracelet could easily have some sharp edges (ahem: Phoibos) and the faces (facets?) look like thay would show marks easily. It is not a show stopper, but the bracelet makes me hesitate.
I bought my Richard legrand from their site at fifty dollars off. But later realized, right now, you can find gently used second hand units at HALF PRICE. I think at this comparison, this would not be so competitive
I think it has definitely taken inspiration from many places, but it's definitely not direct copy of the Superman case - it's got no crown guard for starters!
Appealing design. But the 49mm lug to lug appears disproportionately long for the 39/40mm case/bezel size. Just wouldn’t fit well on my 6.6 in wrist. Again, beautiful watch, but unfortunately not for me.
@@PerthWAtch “marginal yet significant” - spot on. Over the past year, I’ve gravitated toward vintage sized watches: 36-38mm case diameter with sub 46mm lug to lug. Choices are limited, but thankfully, it seems the industry is starting to come around. One on my radar, as funds permit, is the Traska Commuter (36mm). I don’t recall if you’ve reviewed it, but if not, would appreciate your perspective. Great work on your channel. Always make time for your vids. Take care!
@@PerthWAtch Yes! I did catch several reviews (yours included) of the Mitch Mason Chronicle. I agree, beautiful watch. The Kickstarter price was good, but it did not have a bracelet at the time. I’m a bracelet guy, so that was a dealbreaker for me. Then, of course, they later designed a bespoke bracelet for the Chronicle, but understandably so, the watch became more expensive post-Kickstarter and with a bracelet. I am, however, on Mitch Mason’s newsletter, so I’m keeping my eye on them.
Got this watch less than a year ago, mecanism broke 2 times, not cheap repairs, the strap breaks easily as well, clearly you are paying way to much for a bottom quality automatic watch, customer service is completely unresponsive, even though mine is under warranty, there is no one to talk about the problems with it.

Sexy case and beautiful gradient sand dial! I love the distortion on the edge of the crystal against the chapter ring.

Rado captain cook homage? I like it, kinda reminds me of the seiko cocktail time limited edition dial with captain cook case.

Would u reckon it can fit well on a 6 inch wrist? Really tempted to preorder this for myself. Such a gorgeous piece.
Probably borderline for 6 inch and would depend on if you have a flatter profile on the top surface…
Thanks for the reply. Yeahp, the top part of my wrist is rather flat..

I wonder why the brown model doesn't have lume on the bezel... Other color variants seems to have it.
The explanation is that they were going for a vintage look hence the gilt bezel, which can’t be lume...
