I just want to say that I now regret making Grady mentally challenged. I wanted to put in a unique character but in ended up being disrespectful and I apologize for that.
I like Grady! He may be... different, but he still has a level of wisdom that Cory and Will should have learned from before their accident. A lot like Forrest Gump in that regard: not an academic or bioengineer or anything, but still profound on a level the so-called “intellectuals” can’t match.
It is obvious that you three can’t work as one. I cannot have this on my railway, I’ll repair you this once, and see if buying this type of engine was worth it.
Will: We’re a Garratt engine, we’re built to take on bends fast! *5 seconds later the Garratt crashes* Cory: You were saying?… I was laughing so hard at that part XD
I've been meaning to post here for a while now. As the creator of the Sodor Garratt, I'm pleased with the outcome of your story. I was fairly surprised no one has used it in a video up until this point, and I applaud you for doing so. Each character represented themselves nicely, albeit the fact that Grady seemed like he had mental disabilities, which wasn't in my initial thoughts in creating the character. Other than that, it was quite a nice and cute story. Good job and I'm glad someone finally used my creation in a video. Thanks again!
Beg pardon, but do you have anything against special needs people like myself, or do you just not want your character portrayed as having disabilities?
It’s because Emily replaced Duck in the Steam. Though I wish Duck actually made it to the steam team, the least HIT Entertainment could have done was let him make appearances or roles.
This is a great episode for such an interesting character! And I like how you gave Will and Cory such conflicting personalities, with Grady, strange as he ma seem, being the voice of reason. Great job!
Interesting take on this fan character, specifically Grady. I liked how Duck and Emily were glaring at each other at Knapford, referencing "that" fan theory.
Great work and great idea for a character! They should introduce him into the TV series! My only bit of "constructive criticism" is Grady, as you say in the description he's not intended to be mocking but the character just seems a bit off alongside Cory and Will. I would have Grady be more like a sensible "middle man" who often tries to acts as a mediator between the two during their arguments but ultimately can't control them. It could lead to a good story where after getting tired of their arguments or perhaps Will (as the more brutish of the gang) makes a comment about how they do all the work whilst Grady just sits there and gets a free ride, he decides to give himself a boiler leak or not let his fire light at all, thus proving to them both that he is an integral part of the team! I appreciate it would been quite similar to what you've done here but I think it's the kind of storyline that could well be told in different ways, especially with a character always joined together!
That was a great episode. Part of it reminded me of the Season 9 episode "Mighty Mac" and the rest "Heroes". You know, WildNorWester also has a garratt character in the form of Rowan, which will be in time officially introduced.
Actually, the position of Grady's eyes would be useful, since they probably allow him to have a better pheripherical vision to either side, and they're a long engine, so being struck from the side, or having someone wander too close to the tracks while they're rolling along could become a serious issue.
@@DuckandMikeyfan49, a cast member confirmed that Duck was chosen as a candidate for the spot at Tidmouth sheds, but Emily was chosen due to being a female. I think his name was Phil Farrell.
Pretty good story I must say. I've been waiting for Sodor Workshops Garratt to finally appear in someone's series! A pretty fascinating conflict I must say.
I do not wish to be mean, but a Garrett locomotive doesn't need a turntable. A Garrett can travel both backwards and forwards easily, much like a tank locomotive. I suggest that, in future episodes, the two ends of the Garrett take turns leading and trailing on trains. Again, I do not say this to be mean, it is just my understanding that Garrett locomotives were not meant to be turned around.

Yeah it's supposed to look like they came from another railway, possibly in South Africa because they used Garratts more than any other country. The idea is that they kept the coupler but added the latch and buffers to make it usable with European rolling stock. It's kinda like how Hiro has that as well.
He'd probably still have a rebuild due to him excessively failing but he might have not been rebuilt into a black 5 if it was a few years after he would of got a rebuilt when he crashed the kipper
+Isaac Innis it would be inevitable for James's wooden brake blocks to set on fire so if it didn't happen down Gordon's hill than I could possibly happen in a more populated area and there could have been a very serious accident maybe involving a few deaths
