You might be basically (or ideally) correct in your fundamental analysis. But it is incomplete and misses some crucial aspects and details as regards Federer's forehand swing. First, it is precisely Roger and nobody else who does take care not to over-rotate in any of his swings and thus his hips and torso rotation come to a halt before the contact point. Thus, Fed's swing Is - yes - relaxed and balanced (and based on the "whole body rotation" in this sense) but it does not happen as a single unit.Roger never rotates from the lower body at the moment his racquet strings meet the ball. You ignore the conservation laws in your analysis and don't consider the dynamics of a whip in any relevant detail. Secondly, an implication of the previous point, you dismiss Roger's trade-mark footwork employed in a stationary enough open/semi-open stance baseline rally swing, that is the *back foot pivot*. There is certain irony and a solid teaching here to be discerned that whilst Roger's swing is balanced and fluid rotating around the spine he nevertheless is more pedantic than anybody about not rotating around from his lower body thus managing to freeze the previous kinematic chain preceding the contact. Thus, it is Roger who you see swinging his forehands pivoting on his rear foot more frequently than any other ATP player.

Thank you for your comment. My theory is to give players a bigger swing radius and a way to use their hands and forearms like a whip. Of course, it can't be the same as the Federer swing. However, it can be implemented almost similarly. Give me and my disciples time. In a year or so... you'll see just how much better they swing as amateurs.

@@jultennisgolf4970 Yup. Great, even ground-breaking work & workable methodology. The Chinook posture - clever! I enjoy watchng your videos and they have widened my scope and deepened my view about Fed forehand also. The stretch reflex for example is an interesting notion. Roger - does he rely on that - he says he goes from "1" to "2" in grip firmness just prior contact (and then back to "1" after It) implying he does not (not completely to say the least); 1 = completely loose grip - 10 = rock hard grip). Keep on training and uploading these eccellent videos, Kim! ;-D Thank you.

@@jultennisgolf4970 but it's not similar at all, you're basically teaching yourself how to do it exactly wrong, your left hand is flinging into overrotation and as you yourself pointed out the crucial thing is SIR, exactly the thing you're using with over rotation you get zero shoulder internal motion..

Federer also doesn't pull back both arms as he teaches here, there is no chinook pose.

    I absolutely understand that concept.
Great to watch both of you - but this guy does not feel this concept. He is trying so hard with his arm.
And that tension kills that idea.
Hope to se an update from this guy.
Thank you so much for sharing this great video

Don't turn your head away from the ball... That's the opposite of what rog dies..
