- This is not medical advice. Consult a professional if you are going to change any kind of medicine in your diet. So...... having said that........Today we're in the Sierra Nevadas at Boca Springs. I briefly go over 5 uses of the pine tree as food and medicine.
to get the most from the needles i cut them into 1 cm length, put them in a coffee grinder and churn them up. put the pulp into a cup and half fill with hot water and stir for a few minutes then pour through a tea strainer into another cup and it looks nice and green like pea juice. afterwards i let the pulp dry out and the next morning i put it back in the coffee grinder with my mixed seeds and grind it all up and put it in my oats for breakfast. lovely and nothing is wasted.
🤩 I could listen to you all day. I am an herbalist that was just looking for quick inspiration with pine on a class I’m doing for homeschool. Your video came up. Glad it did! Keep spreading the pine love! Also one of my favorites on this earth. There’s a lot of pine in the great northern MN. Looking forward to working with this plant more. 🥰
Thank you sooo much i have been educating myself on herbal medicine. I am Ojibwe from MN and kinda embarrassed that I don't already know these things because im sure my ppl used these back in the day. But its an awsome thing to learn, since i am so against pharmaceuticals. :) thanks again!!
i love the scent of pines - i have a lot of them around where i live - just being around them feels energizing - also i love the fact that when we get humid, rainy weather that causes a lot of mold growth you will see the mold growing all over the trunks of many trees, but never on the pines !
I didn't know that. Thanks.
This may help many people who were bullied into Vaccines to minimize damages...
I can almost never watch a whole video like this but you explained the benefits of the tree in such a clear and logical way, it was easy to listen. Thank you for this video
Great video, I appreciate the time you took to make this video. Very informative, interesting and to the point.
Very cool video. I learned so much! Almost makes me want to grow one for to make tea! Love the smell of pine.
Pine trees have the oldest DNA of all plants or so I have heard. (i just rubbed some pine+coconut oil on m chest to relief my astmah and I just started to feel a warmth in my upper body and i had a headache relief, having a relaxing moment aswell. nice!)

Great tip on the turpentine, not many people know that one
Boy , am I late getting to you ! What I want to know is : Is the pine oil in the needles or the bark of the pine tree ?
I am interested in how this affects the DNA do you have any links on this information?
making ancient greek pottery, the decoration is ferrites from clays, i extract the ferrites by colloidal suspensions. once applied to the pottery surface, in the kiln firing i use pine tree saw dust with resins, some pine tree inner bark i learnt has a morphine like substance. the turpentine molecules when exposed to high temps has an effect on ones pineal gland. Socrates said the pine is the way to the immortal soul. the cherokee dna googled it are related to ancient greeks
Very well done, I've got a question you know if it is possible to consume pine needle as they are for human consumption? Just thinking of famine food. Other question, I wanted to do fermentation of pine needle to make an healthy drink, but I found out that vitamine C is lost during fermentation, but I guess all the rest will stay in the drink, but just wondering if anybody tried and if what came out was healthy and not dangerous. Bye bye from Italy

Turpentine is also an excellent medicine.

Do you have an IG or FB account to follow your adventures? You seem very interesting and knowledgeable :) I use the pine sap in my loose incense mixes and make pine needle tea etc. Very nice!
Nice, ty

Great video!!
Great vid
Pine - the home of Chaga :D awesome
I heard there is one specific pine tree for the pine needle tea,
I heard the 3 other types of pine are poisonous for tea.
You have to reconize them by how the needles are positioned on the branch
so how to recognize good from bad?
No, that is not true. The other pine tree are not poisonous for tea. The White Pine has the most Vit C and Vit A in its needles.
@@charkitte well.. this is a very old comment, and I have learned alot in the mean while.. yet there are poisonous pines like the ponderosa for instance,
It’s not advised to drink tea from that. Pine oil could also give a inflammation in the stomach or skin. Most vitamin C breaks down when boiling it.. we are both not wrong. But although the old comment, I’m still right on this one :)
@@mattscorpio_official
You are NOT supposed to boil the needles. You boil the water first and then pour the water on the needles and allow them to steep in the tea. That way the Vit. C is NOT destroyed.
Is this being consciously and sustainably done?
It appears to me, that you may be harming the tree(?)
*KNOW I would not take the chance* of damaging the tree. I certainly hope you know what you're doing+
Always try dead and dying trees first before using live ones.
@Wild water Is there book that you would recommend that I read to gain more information?
You are amazing 😍
How do we save sick pinetrees that have disease , lots of pinetrees in my area don't know if there healthy or safe for comsution
i am on olympic peninsula - what about douglas fir ??
Thank you for sharing your learnings but I have to point out that there is NO indigenous coconut or olive oil in the same regains of pine trees ... So I am asking you what other oils or methods in general would be available in the same environment to achieve the same outcome sustainably ?
Animal tallow or lanoin. First Peoples would most likely have used bear grease.
@@michaelwilson8831 we are so young in the learning of our new land that we stole from ingenious people and because of that we are void from the learning ... we have the same oils as coconuts and olives ( not derived from animals ) we just don't know what they are !!!
@@bhuman7295 there has always been one constant in my life, since I was a young boy. I felt a hollow guilt for events I had nothing to do with. I read narratives and primary sources. I learned how to heal with natural medicines. After 20 yrs as a carpenter, I went back to school. I am now an Archaeologist working on my Masters. I recreate these forgotten technologies to better understand how and why they were used. I also do it to better understand a lost time that I have always felt a deep connecting with. I'm not sure if the sadness I feel will ever completely go away, but I'm working on it. All the First Peoples have my deepest respect.
This one time,at band camp....
Are you still active ?! Where is the pycnogenol in the pine tree ,.. outer bark or inner bark ?
inner .
Which kind of pine?
I believe he said Ponderosa.
what happens when you drink pine juice to much
random but great
Great info, but clarify that vitamin C produces little human benefit as it is a medium for our gut to absorb other nutrients that bond to it. Zinc is more beneficial than vit. C in strengthening our immune system against viruses.
More than zinc it's selenium
At 41 seconds makes the fourth fucking time you said I want to talk about pine trees
At 1 second ...you sound like a narcissist
Why the water moving so much?
What kind of pine is that? White pine?
White pine
I heard too much vitamin C can deplate us of vitamin D, but everything in small amounts .
Awwww you are so cute I can’t take my eyes off you I hope you reply my msg
Thirsty

Why didn't they teach us this stuff in school
you know darn well why ... the pharmaceutical industry run the schools ... why would they want to teach you how to heal yourself and make them obsolete ..........?
There are many videos on YT telling people to use turpentine as medicine. I think they're nuts. That's dangerous. I'm fine with using essential oils and making leaf tea but drinking processed paint thinner?!
Bobette Giorgi My Mother gave her 12 children turpentine and sugar back in the 1960's. There were no internet, or cell phones to do any research. She simply gave to us, what her mother gave to her. We took turpentine and sugar our entire childhood. With 12 children you can imagine there were a lot of worms coming out. It keep us kids healthy. I don't remember me, or any of my siblings ever having to visit a doctor office. My Mother took it herself. She is in her 80's now. All 12 children are alive and healthy.
I always chewed pitch off balsam firs
Covid
You are so fine.
Good video, except he doesn't know the value of Pine Nuts.
1. These nuts are, a top exotic tosterone food. Great for erections and sex health.
2. The sap is also an antiseptic and a great mouthwash.
And you must have the youngest green ones
😅😘😘
its cool i get stoned in tahoe too ;0
chagra id better for you with less side effects
not all pine trees the same dude. you need to express such in more detail the differences if you are going to encourage something like this.. Makes a big difference. Your talking about the right way, and yet there are HUGE differences in what trees are safe to do this too and other things. NOT GOOD. So many on youtube talking about things in a way that is only part of it or part true and another part not correct info many times, or leaving out important things. Others video not knowing crap on it or same half trues or twisted info. Then people try or do it and they get hurt. Anyway, still good basic info on most of it. Good job on video making...
Great tip on the turpentine, not many people know that one
