Colin said in an article that he was annoyed that Saward (allegedly) would not allow a clip from Attack of the Cybermen of Lytton, a character he invented. He much admired Maurice Colbourne and wanted to take that opportunity to pay tribute to him (as he had passed away not long before)

I met him last year at a convention, terribly interesting bloke and a real class act

When I got this VHS at the age of 12, Colin Baker seemed to have gotten so old since playing the Doctor. Now at 42 I can hardly tell a difference. 🤪

I can't decide if it was more hilariously petty for Eric to tell the BBC no, or that whoever wrote the script for this video to tell Colin to mention that fact

Maybe JNT had it put in, he didn't get on with Eric by then? Only a guess. I always thought it was music rights issues, until they repeated it in 93(?), and delayed VHS issue until 1999

@@mattgibb1310 The music the Dj plays could be a problem. That said by now the 50s music is nearly out of 70 year copyright. Used to be 50 years but Cliff Richard and other artists from the 50s demanded it be increased so they could continue to receive royalties.

Well, JNT produced that video, so there is your answer.
Revelation is the only Colin Baker story credited to Eric Saward -although it is also suspected that he either wrote or heavily influence attack of the Cybermen after getting his then-girlfriend to submit the script to him, via the production office under a pseudonym, which would have been both unethical and serious violation of internal BBC rules.
In fact, as I have just recalled, earlier on in this video, when showing clips from Attack, Colin, in his to-camera linking material notes that *“There has been some speculation as to who ‘Paula Moore’ really is -“,* bringing the subject up, right before denying he has any personal knowledge about it one way or the other, so - the claws were very much still most definitely out, at that stage (circa 1993)

Very fond memories of the Doctor Who Exhibition in Blackpool. This brought them flooding back. Thank you. ☺️

It was Eric. The US making of Silver Nemesis originally had a clip of Resurrection (about music) which had to be removed for the UK video. Basically anything JNT was producing for BBC Video Eric obstructed.

Part of me wonders whether it was actually Eric Saward or Terry Nation (who owned the rights to the daleks up to his death in 1997; now it's his estate) who denied access to show footage from Revelation. In the 1990s, Terry Nation and later his estate were very picky about when the daleks could be used and when they couldn't.
Whilst Colin (my favourite Doctor btw) says "the author", I can't help but wonder if it was actually Terry Nation.

Terry nation owed spike Milligan money so he waived. The fee to Pakistani Daleks

Man the fact that he stayed in character the whoke time signing autographs, instead of just phoning it in, im sure to those kids by his adding comments and phrases made the kids believe the actually met him and not the actor
