The best keeper we've ever had at Leeds he was a world class keeper at the peak of his game
Even though I am big Liverpool fan he was always one my favourite keepers growing up. I always like a goal keeper who can catch the ball during corners but he could also do that with diving saves although modern day footballs do move around too much for my liking now which makes these things more difficult. Cheer for the video.
Nigel Martyn was one of the best goalkeepers ever, by far the best goalkeeper Leeds ever had.

I remember him... very calm but reactive Goalie.
He was along the greatest EPL in late 90’s.
I think that time the best 5 was:
1. Schmeichel
2. Seaman
3. Martyn
4. Shaka Hislop; and
5. Mart Poom
I’d say he was better than Seaman, he had comparable stats and didn’t have the luxury of playing behind that Arsenal defence

Michael Ball smashes it just outside the box, and Nigel stands there and catches it... doesn't make it a save for the cameras and tip it over bar, then flip backwards..

That’s what I liked about Martyn, he actually caught the ball when it was right at him, too many goalies just happy to parry it and hope for the best

Still fucking irritates me so much that prick Venebles led to Martyn leaving the club. I'd of taken him over Paul Robinson any day of the week. Leeds best ever keeper and deserved to be Englands #1 without doubt. Thanks for everything Nige you're a Leeds legend in my eyes
Robinson was better. Shame his confidence got obliterated after his England mishaps.

@mkheir1 Not this goalkeeper but yeah I know who you mean. The goalie your talking about is Gabor Kiraly. He played for Crystal Palace in the 2004/05 Premier league season.
