Norman spent something like 18 years in prison, and i think it was for murder but its not clear. He lost his parents, his wife took the kids and he has nothing left. All of that happened whilst he was locked up. He was homeless, has PTSD. His words hit hard, with such emotion because its real.
He was in prison for an unknown period of time when he was released all of his immediate family had passed away (i dont know if he had siblings but both his parents) his wife at some point also dissapeared with his kids and he ended up homeless and trying to find his kids. I dont know anything more

How do you know he's straight now? Just because they make some songs and occasionally appear on stage doesn't mean things are all good. Look at the videos for songs like "Sonnet". Let's hope he's made it to the other side, but honestly, it's hard to know.
