Perhaps DeJoy should get on the ball with the Rural Carriers union so they can stop working carriers without pay after the issue laden route evaluations. Implementing the new route evaluations without allowing the union to verify the numbers, and it being in arbitration that USPS are in violation of the contact with the rural carrier, is disgusting. Those handheld scanners he mentions are very complicated and very little training has been given for them, and is very intricate to use for the carriers so route evaluations are fair. Carriers are told that training is available on the website, something they would be required on their own time after work - without pay.

We can't necessarily say the rise is crime against postal carriers is because of something DeJoy did or didn't do exclusively. Crime is on the rise nationwide because criminals are becoming victims and victims are becoming criminals. Not a soul talked about the poor mental state most of the postal employees are dealing with. Most worked straight through the pandemic, the lockdowns and quarantines while teaching their own kids and working 6days a week. Most lost family members left and right and continued to work 6 days a week. The mental health of the post office is at a serious low. The moral is even lower.

I know rural carriers who do City routes in half the time it takes them to do it.. They work at a slower pace because they are paid by the hour compared to rural carriers being paid salary by evaluation..
I'm a rural carrier, working out of a rural office and after this new RRECS re-evaluation garbage, EVERY SINGLE ROUTE IN OUR OFFICE WAS CUT. Not one route gained, many K routes were changed to H or J routes, not only losing pay, but now forcing carriers to work 6 days a week. Here's another little interesting tidbit that the USPS doesn't want anyone to know. During the 2020 election, our postmaster called us all in for a service talk and told every carrier, that any mail in ballots we received after the deadline was to be set aside and brought to him, and he was ordered to back date them so that they would still be counted.. Pretty sure that's illegal, I know I personally must have had at least 50 ballots myself, and this was ordered by Dejoy himself according to our postmaster.
I can tell you that at our post office the Priority express packages do not get delivered to our office until 1 pm. Most of us are already out delivering our routes by that time and we are forced to make a second trip to deliver any expresses we may have. ( and they only pay us for mileage, not for our time.

I have not received my mail for two month since putting in the change of address. Neither post office can tell me where my mail is all they can tell me is the change of address has gone through. The Postal service did a 3 day investigation as to where my mail is…to find NOTHING. Next investigation took 5 days to find, you guessed it…NOTHING. Now I’m told the change of address can take up to 4-5 weeks longer. The Postal Service is a typical Government ran agency! Both the old and the Post Office tell me the new Change of Address system gets complaints everyday yet nothing has been done to correct it thus far. Shame on the Postmaster General!!!

Update: 9-15-2023 After 3 month and 2 day dealing with this problem I’m finally getting mail. I originally filled out a change of address card at the new post office, after that didn’t work I was told to do it online (which I had to pay a fee). Then I find out someone had gone into the system and deleted both of those change of addresses. Of course no one could tell who did that so no one was held accountable. I was told to do it online once again and had to pay AGAIN. Third time is a charm. It seems we have all this great technology but yet the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. 🤪 I hope the Post Master General steps on a Lego barefooted!

The post office doesn't deliver the mail in my rural community. We have to go to the post office and get it. That includes heavy packages sent to elderly and disabled people. That's why we prefer Fed Ex and UPS
Fed and UPS deliveries are very likely done by the USPS. USPS goes to every box in every community. Fedex and USPS very likely consider your address in your rural community as "last mile" deliveries. Therefore they dont directly deliver to you, even though it is a Fedex/UPS package. What they do is give "the last mile" package o a rural USPS carrier.

There is no way a person with no experience should be able to come in and destroy the Postal Service. I saw it with my own eyes as an employee and now I hear about it from my Son and other friends who still work there. This guy brought his people with him and a company he is closely associated with is benefiting from our tax dollars in a huge way. He is doing this in broad daylight year after year and nothing can be done? How about an audit? Where is the money that should be going toward better service? I’d say in his pocket. Raises and bonuses in 2021 should have been a huge red flag. All of the delayed mail, he’s ignoring inquiries from Senators and Cobsuner Affairs for customer complaints has been shut down for years. It takes months to get certified mail returned to senders and it should be done by the protocol in place but they got rid of that area too. He should be investigated by the DOJ. I see many saying DeJoy needs to go but he has barely had time to get things going. This is decades of issues that have went unchecked and now someone is checking them, yet it's still not enough. I've been with USPS for a year now after the state closed my Detention facility. The carriers are lazy, and a lot of the burden is caused by the "culture" of the post office. All of the crackdowns and cameras being introduced are to fix the time theft(Freudian slip, I meant culture)issue created by those same old timers(Which is ironic because its a lazy way to increase profit margins). Many of whom can't walk a route to begin with. Management doesn't make it any better, with hiring practices and lack in creativity to increase production and improve attendance. Note to HR, if someone is 150 lbs overweight, it's probably not a good hire. The union needs to be a more united front or replaced all together, dumping all of these local agreements and being united under a single banner.
to be honest dejoy don't seem like a bad guy he seems very content on making better changes to a old and run down system. he's also showing some type of compassion with the poster workers and seems to understand the urgent help we need. plus he wants to end the cca postion and anyone whos out to end that position has my vote! better pay, happy worker, happy workers equals better working environment !
I think the bigger problem is with every state government! When you receive 4 ballots ,one for yourself and 3 for former owners is a big problem! Not the fault of the postmaster! As far as stolen mail, that’s the great thing about living in a small apartment in a small township! Box we have here is adequate! My question is are they getting rid of forever stamps as we seniors find them less expensive ,in the long run! As far as scanners, I’ve never heard any of our postal workers complain yet!

Easier said than done. The postal vehicles in Florida have no A.C.. When carriers get back to the station in the summer months, they are nice and toasty. Ask your neighborhood carrier at what time and opportunity do they use the restroom.

The postal service needs to be massively reduced in size. We live in a different world today. Most people do not rely on postal mail like they once did. There is no need for daily mail service. Weekly mail service would be sufficient for most. I personally would be okay with monthly mail service. I simply don't use it and don't need it for much of anything. Like all things government related, nothing ever goes away or gets reformed. The postal service is a lot like the library or typewriter, it is time to move on.

the USPS should get a good size subsidy from the Tax Payers. All of us would appreciate better service and lower rates ! it is the very definition of PUBLIC SERVICE! AND WORTHY OF OUR MONEY. subsidy would allow a lot more people to sell online from home and send thru the mail. PRICES HAVE GONE UP TERRIBLY. this woul d help the economy and flow of money, food, and goods to more people stuck at home, and all our ecommerce consumer markets. it would diminish the market share that china has, selling to americans via e commerce thru thier subsidized mails they have over there ( thus cheaper to buy from them than americans).. Price of shippin go rmailing is astronomical and makes selling impossible for Americans in our own country!

There is no way a person with no experience should be able to come in and destroy the Postal Service. I saw it with my own eyes as an employee and now I hear about it from my Son and other friends who still work there. This guy brought his people with him and a company he is closely associated with is benefiting from our tax dollars in a huge way. He is doing this in broad daylight year after year and nothing can be done? How about an audit? Where is the money that should be going toward better service? I’d say in his pocket. Raises and bonuses in 2021 should have been a huge red flag. All of the delayed mail, he’s ignoring inquiries from Senators and Cobsuner Affairs for customer complaints has been shut down for years. It takes months to get certified mail returned to senders and it should be done by the protocol in place but they got rid of that area too. He should be investigated by the DOJ. He works hand in hand with the gerrymandering and their whole plan to steal elections while killing oeople who need their meds and causing financial disaster for businesses and people who need to pay their bills without penalties and late charges.
How is it cheaper to move processing from inexpensive property and lower cost of living areas like Nevada to the highest cost area of southern california.

I see many saying DeJoy needs to go but he has barely had time to get things going. This is decades of issues that have went unchecked and now someone is checking them, yet it's still not enough. Welcome to the post office. Remove DeJoy, the problems still exist. Tired of everyone expecting instant results. I bet most people don't even know why they don't like DeJoy. We aren't even half way through the 10 year plan. USPS needs an update, we're getting it, let's at least make it to the half way mark before we start pointing fingers at everyone except ourselves. Don't forget, a lot of the entry level employees add to the toxicity at the work place. Check yourself before you check someone else.

I've been with USPS for a year now after the state closed my Detention facility. The carriers are lazy, and a lot of the burden is caused by the "culture" of the post office. All of the crackdowns and cameras being introduced are to fix the time theft(Freudian slip, I meant culture)issue created by those same old timers(Which is ironic because its a lazy way to increase profit margins). Many of whom can't walk a route to begin with. Management doesn't make it any better, with hiring practices and lack in creativity to increase production and improve attendance. Note to HR, if someone is 150 lbs overweight, it's probably not a good hire. The union needs to be a more united front or replaced all together, dumping all of these local agreements and being united under a single banner.

I think the bigger problem is with every state government! When you receive 4 ballots ,one for yourself and 3 for former owners is a big problem! Not the fault of the postmaster! As far as stolen mail, that’s the great thing about living in a small apartment in a small township! Box we have here is adequate! My question is are they getting rid of forever stamps as we seniors find them less expensive ,in the long run! As far as scanners, I’ve never heard any of our postal workers complain yet!

If you haven't heard any carriers complain about the scanners, then you don't know many carriers. We have been complaining about them from day 1. They suck.

Easier said than done. The postal vehicles in Florida have no A.C.. When carriers get back to the station in the summer months, they are nice and toasty. Ask your neighborhood carrier at what time and opportunity do they use the restroom.

We live in a different world today. Most people do not rely on postal mail like they once did. There is no need for daily mail service. Weekly mail service would be sufficient for most. I personally would be okay with monthly mail service. I simply don't use it and don't need it for much of anything.
Like all things government related, nothing ever goes away or gets reformed. The postal service is a lot like the library or typewriter, it is time to move on.

People rely on postal mail now more than ever. There are areas in this country where UPS/Fedex/etc won’t deliver because of costs, should those Americans receive no packages or mail? The Postal Service is enshrined in the Constitution, or do you only care about that piece of paper when someone’s coming after the bumpstocks for your AR-15?

The post office doesn't deliver the mail in my rural community. We have to go to the post office and get it. That includes heavy packages sent to elderly and disabled people. That's why we prefer Fed Ex and UPS
USPS is only supposed to deliver up to 75lbs... that's what fedex and ups supposed to deliver they only handle packages...plus they always drop their stuff off to us everyday...when u look at your packages u will see several different white labels 😂
