- This is Michael Martin Murphy's music video for his Cowboy Song. It was a great video. We used this to market the concert we produced with him as the headliner. It was a fund raiser for the Scera Shell, in Orem, Utah. This video was produced by Wildfire Productions. We also had some local acts in our show. A Firstvision Concert Production in Orem Utah.

Never thought i could consider myself a cowboy until i really listened to these lyrics. I realized my dad raised me by the lyrics of this song and ive lived my entire life so far to these sayings.
Sadly the message is correct sadder still is the truth, most don’t care because if everyone did care then these words would have tremendous meaning. “Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven". No stress, no worry, just peace. How novel is that?
There's one answer that is occasionally going to be wrong because there's one question that wasn't asked and answered. That's, "if it's got a wheel, drive it." Some cowboys like to drive, but no one likes to handle the gates.
I agree with others, country music just doesn't sound like this anymore. I love Cowboys and I love country music that sounds like country
My grandfather would play this cassette over and over again with my sister and I in the truck on the way to and from the farm...I always sat in the middle :)

I've been a fan of MMM's for years. We even went to Michael's West Fest out in Colorado one year. Don't give up on this type of music, because there is a young man carrying on the tradition. His name is Colter Wall, and he has several videos on yt.

I love this song, but my family has a bit different take on this logic. The real cowboy is the one in the driver's seat. He doesn't have to get the gate, or deal with someone's shifter in his lap.
This is the best song for my late Dad Francis Quay Sr who cowboy Ed up with the Carrizo Cattle Association until he went back to heaven

Sittin in the middle never worked for me. My grandpa drove and my dad rode shotgun. When we come to a gate my dad got out and let me out to get the gate. If it was just two of us they didn’t even stop to let me get back in. I had to run and jump.
