Having Alhambra, every available military building, and Brandenburg Gate as the Shoshone allows you to build the Comanche Riders and then give them the charge promotion immediately. When you upgrade them to Landships, they still retain the speed bonus and you have an absolutely busted armored corps.
Angkor Wat would be much more effective if it was a Classical era Wonder. In the same way Hanging Gardens helps tall play with the food bonus, the faster tile acquisition would be good for players looking to settle cities & claim territory quickly in the early game playing as expansionist Civs like the Shoshone, Greece, Hiawatha and Songhai.
3:44 Big Ben is amazing when combined with Mercantilism and Mobilization. % cost reductions are additive in this game. So the 58% reduction that you get from the social policies become a 73% reduction with Big Ben. That is a 36% cost reduction if you do the math. e.g. if something costs 1000g it becomes 420g with the policies and finally 270g with Big Ben. 270/420 is 64%
Great rankings! Only one rank diff between Kremlin and Statue of Lib though? By that point you'll have so many specialists it's an insane prod boost empire wide. Also synergizes with the freedom policies for specialists. A or S for me
Agree on Statue, it's an absolute production beast. Yes, at that point you've probably got good production but I'm very much of the opinion that you just can't have too much production. Statue can absolutely catapult you to the point where you can build any remaining wonder and not even care whether it's good or not.
Another reason I think Statue is good is bc youre almost always gonna already be teching for it for labs, so youll get access to it before the other ideology wonders unless youre doing an artillery or gw bomber push
Bro waiting for my series x to get fixed I’ve hopped back into civ 5 for a bit. So been watching RUclips and refreshing on it and this video just popped up. We have the same last name too this world is wild
My bro Neuschwanstein is at least A teir in my book if not S teir. 3 gold 2 culture and 1 happiness from EVERY castle. If you have a lot of cities that is a HUGE stimulus for your economy and solid culture bump. I get it almost every play through because it’s good for any victory type. It essentially unlocks one of the most OP buildings every city you own can build. I agree with everything else though.
At that point in the game you should have between 4-8 cities max. So 12-24 gold, 8-16 culture, and 4-8 happiness shouldn't be that big. It's nice because it looks like a lot of stats. I build it because it's usually easy to build but it's definitely not game changing. You should already have a massive economy and happiness stream going already
Great list. Agree on all but the Great library. I mean this one should go in the S tier. Here you can choose a tech in the next ages, and this will shorten the time on lots of the tech that you havent picked yet.
Depends on difficulty or in multiplayer. In multi, rushing an early GL is not worthwhile, as you'll lose so much early tempo for a single science tech. You don't even need libraries until around t60 on quick speed. Rushing it means you'll be rushed down by a neighbour who built military.
@@DJKokaKola completely agree.. I actually play on epic,, and even I rarely build any early wonders,, unless it's something like Stonehenge... something that helps you throughout the whole game.. unless I'm playing someone like Babylon, I never build the great library
Great library is s fcking meme unless u play on 1 to 7 but if u do then anything u do doesnt have master anyway:-) u can easily pick Egipt and build all wonders:-)
Great Library is a trap wonder. It's bad. All it really does is give you a free tech early game. Cool so what? All techs are cheap early game and the time you take to build it will get you late on everything else, luxury, expansion, production etc... What tech is really gonna help you with Great Library? Iron Working: You have no army. Calendar? Just research calendar instead of writting and go stonehenge for religion. Philosophy for Oracle? Early game policies are cheap and you're even more behind with double early game wonder.
Awesome review. Can you make an wonder tier list for Civ 5 Vox Populi? They make some significant changes or perhaps a video going over hiw the changes are good or bad. Thanks for the great video ❤
Setting trade routs to anythig else then your own city is like punching yourself right in to balls with a bloody hammer. So colossus is top. Great library on deity..... this is more of a meme then great firewall mate
I think this video is missing the fact that the great people points can be advantages or can be disadvantages. The problem is that great scientist, great engineers and great merchants all share the same counter so each great merchant you pop out makes generating a great scientist or great engineer harder. Since great merchants tend to be weaker you generally don't want to be creating them unless you're venice so wonders that produce great merchants points early like Colossus are worse than they appear because those great merchant points are actually a demerit.
Putting Christo Redentor at B after saying CN tower is F is absolutely dumb. The CN Tower multiplies your entire empires culture output by 133%, but somehow saving 10% is better?
International space station is not an S tier i would argue, and i think the hanging gardens is more of an A tier. the louvre is incredibly useful for cultural victories, (as the other culture buildings) I think the great library and maybe the oracle deserve S tier, great firewall is super useful against cultural victories, I also would put notre dame a bit lower because i think its a bit too one time of a bonus. The Temple of artemis is also in my opinion way too slow on diety mode. Cristo redentor is also way too slow and doesnt reward nearly enough. Statue of liberty on diety mode is honestly arguably an S tier just because of the HUGE specialist bonuses it gives, and it pairs greatly with the specialist bonuses that freedom gives. Prora sounds good but its more B tier because it doesnt reward nearly as much happniess as youd think. Overall good list though these are nitpicky things.
If u know what is the difference between flat and base food u will Not mention Artemis anywhere else then s tier whatsoever and above all freedom is not even close to socialism, although i hate bolshevicks this game set order miles away from other policies

Nice video! Also been getting back into Civ 5 lately. Side note, does the buff from Great Mosque of Djenne apply to all your Missionaries and Great Prophets, or just your Missionaries and Great Prophets created in that city? Thanks!
Not even related to the wonder ranking, but you mention for kremlin that the armor prod boost isnt really helpful bc youd go for autocracy for domination. I feel like order is often a very viable domination ideology, as the t2 tenants have hammer and science boosts, and war is determined by hammers and tech. The bonuses may not be as immediate as some of the autocracy tenants, but I feel like order gives you a chance to either catch up or pull away in tech for a timed push. Idk, youre right though the kremlin boost isnt helpful bc tanks arent great and are awkward to tech for
Im sorry but the CN tower is amazing.. Yet you have it in F tier.. I agree that it's awful in quick games but if your playing epic then it's great.. I also turn off time, diplomatic and science victory as everyone should.

Thanks for the comment. Looking back, I do now agree that I underrated the CN tower. As for science, it is definitely too overpowered in 5. The Civic tree in 6 helps balance that a bit
Temple of Artemis is not as good as it looks. That 10% is on surplus food for growth and not total food, so it really isn't that much especially early. Compare that to the Aztec unique building, floating gardens, which increased total food by 15%, which makes floating gardens absolutely the most busted building in Civ 5. Temple of Artemis comes super early too, when the opportunity cost for building wonders at the expense of other key buildings and especially settlers is high. Also the AI gets it really fast on higher difficulties, especially when they start with archery. These two last points are the biggest problems with early game wonders in general.
Good points; I think my goal going in was to rank less on wonder availability and more on what they provide, because dismissing most of the early wonders just isn't that interesting. Thanks for watching
