It’s these types of videos that totally set you apart as a content creator - I so appreciate your attention to detail and explaining why things do and don’t work!
Absolutely agree. Most just post outfits and people run to buy the same stuff without thinking that not every piece of clothing looks good on every body type. Then they end up with a closet full of stuff they never wear.
I am addicted to your videos! You are so kind and warm. You are so careful in stressing that these are YOUR tips, and may not be suited for everyone. Anyway, I may be way off here, and I do say, humbly, that I think I am stylish, but in a very conservative way. So here in the states, and US people correct me if I'm wrong, you just don't see sneakers with nice outfits. I'm just not used to it. But I WANT to be. The only time I really see this is in bigger cities like NYC, where people walk a distance to their job, and then when they get there, they change their shoes. I'm certain most of us (US) know this. But I'm talking about when you show them being worn as "regular" shoes, rather than for athletics or jeans. And again, (US friends), correct me if I'm mistaken, but, as I said, I would love to affirm this style of footwear for going out, without looking "weird."
Fashion & trends deemed acceptable or popular in one place will almost always be thought odd in another. What's cool or fashionable depends a great deal on where you live-- even in the US.
Lots of good advices as always Lydia, Thank you 😊. Regarding the sandals, I can see British wearing sandals not only in spring but also in the winter ,what always amazes me and instantly gives me some chills🥶🥶🥶🥶. When looking at stylings for the colder months and in the proposition are sandals with the outfit it doesn't feel wearable to me. I would like to see more realistic shoe option with the outfit for the colder seasons.
Just the video I needed! Recently shopped for some loafers or trainers, but came home without buying anything. It was difficult finding something that fit my wardrobe. My wardrobe is mostly casual. I did want to dress more smarter for spring to summer, but living in California, it's been so hard finding something that fits for the weather and my personal style. I'm petite as well, so shoes make a huge difference in your overall appearance! Southern California weather has been cooler this year, so I'm considering shoes other than sandals for spring and summer. Thanks for the video!
I like contrasting sling back with my relaxed jogger style trousers. It’s both smart and light weight 😉 good luck finding your Spring/Summer wardrobe, relax and go with pieces you love 😘
I just bought the Paul Green metallic trainers. I wanted white but metallic was all that was left. At first I thought “I can’t wear these. I’m too old”, but now I love them. Wondering what you’d suggest wearing with metallic trainers. I then bought the Paul Green sneakers that have a kind of woven basket weave styling on the sides. Nordstrom sold out of them in two days. I got them in the beige. Again, love them. Paul Green sneakers are so comfy. Expensive, but I won’t skimp when it comes to my feet. After 12 years, 6 days a week, of ballet lessons , my feet are destroyed.
I have a different opinion. The white loafers looked good with the wide-leg trousers and were defeinitely less 'heavy' looking than the white sneakers.
Yes fair enough! I actually quite liked the loafers look myself but just think the trainers work slightly better with that style. Especially if people aren't sure where to start, that would be my styling suggestion! But that's the beauty, we all have our own style!

Size up or down in tan loafers? In this video you said you’d sized down but in your other video you said you sized up. I really don’t like having to return stuff I’ve ordered on line, it’s such a drag. Would like the advice so I’ve got a better chance of getting it right first time. 👍
Hi Lydia, I found you on instagram maybe 2 month ago and ever since I crave your content. I adore your work, your style suggestions using mainly basics and pieces which are so versatile. I love it. Thank you so so much! 🙏🏻 😍 One thing I’d like to ask for is the following though: since I am an ethical vegan, I find it quite often so hard to find cruelty free similar pieces as you suggest especially when it comes to shoes and knit. It would be such a great thing if someone like you could maybe do one video per season with vegan only style inspirations. I wish you all the best and a lovely Sunday evening! Greetings from Berlin 🇩🇪, love Kathrin
Thanks for an amazing video Lydia😍I could totally follow you 👏👏Everything you very explaining made sense to me😃🤓have an amazing spring week 🙏🏻🥰😘Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
Hi Lydia can you do a short or a video describing how to wear strong or not so common colors with your existing wardrobe or what basic goes with those not so common colors.....I bought these burgundy pants but after bringing them home I realised they don't really go much w my existing wardrobe or maybe I just don't know how to pair them up
I think there's a large number of colored tops you could wear with burgundy pants, anything from tees to blouses to sweaters to blazers, depending on the fabric & style of the pants, & of course what colors look best on you: white, cream, beige, shades of pink, lavender, pale blue, silver, grey, navy, & black.🙂
Thank you for all the tips! I was wondering if you have an example of what can be used instead of trainers? I don’t really wear trainers and I was wondering if there are other types of shoes that fit that casual style and works in the same types of scenarios as trainers?
Lydia I love your tips! You are helping me dress better. I realize it’s not your thing exactly, but what do you think about doing more content focusing on bright color? I am always trying to apply your tips, but with loud colors and patterns. I try, but it’s not that simple! 😂
I too like colours. But muted ones because it suits my skin tone. So what I do is, when Lydia shows e.g. a tonal cream outfit I keep the proportion in mind but swap the entire outfit to a colour et voilà 💁♀️ So i end up with a beautiful pink satin skirt with a pink tank top and pink sling backs. Believe me it works 😄 Or greenish beige trousers with lemon green top. Works too. Eyeing an elegant cropped blue jacket atm, intend to wear it with blue jean or cream jean and blue pumps 🤘 With patterns, I think you got to tone down all other item in your outfit to make it stand out properly, without being it overwhelmed. Keep the colour sandwich in mind and proportions sandwich and you’ll have fun with your colours and patterns. 😘
Been waiting for this one! The first pair are moccasins are they not? I can't wear wide legs with trainers for the office so what can I wear? I wear loafers at the moment 😏 x
I have several different kinds of loafers--super chunky and then more of a dressy beige patent leather loafer. It just depends upon what look I am going for and what shoe I pair. I love wide legs and I like them a tad shorter --so that the ankle is showing. I just like more of a formal look, so trainers are a no for me. I like wearing a platform with a flare or wide leg as well. Also, with the loafers that I own, the tow box is shorter, so it looks better on the foot with a wide leg.
I am learning sooi much from your videos. Thank you! I am struggling to make a capsule outerwear collection. One with staple coats and jackets of different lengths and for different seasons and would pair well with most anything in a minimal wardrobe. Would you consider a video on this? Apologies if you already have a video on this, if so could you kindly refer me to it?
with the wide leg trousers i think it would have to be a bit shorter to pull off the loafers and a heavier pant that's not so light cause like you mentioned it doesn't really go together too well and where you did the skirt with loafer they all look a bit more fitting together rather than a flowy light pair of trousers that you wear on vacation kind of look with a work looking shoe
I love your style, its always so chic and classic but femine. What would you recommend for a weekend in new york city. We are going to a Broadway show and a roof top bar and I have no clue what to wear.😂
Where is your room divider in the background from? Could you share the link please? 🫶🏻 I‘m not just getting outfit inspirations, I also got Inspirations for my home furniture 💕 Love your videos, thank youuuuu 🫶🏻💕
Hi Lydia, I enjoyed your video. I really liked those wide-leg blue trousers, I couldn't see the link for the alternative trousers, could you please link. Thank so much.
I love your videos! I just bought some Steve Madden loafers in black and white but now I’m thinking of switching out the white loafers for the one you bought from Sezanne! I’d really love if you can recommend it style a black and white loafer and/or Oxford style dress shoe. I think the light blue pant is hard to style. They are also to transparent for me. I’d have to wear leggings under.

Love the looks -would like to have seen which shoe you would pair with the brown/floaty midi skirt & blazer outfit.

Spring is my nemesis for work wear outfits😂 this has really helped. Wide leg trousers can be tough to style.

t's amazing how you bring together timeless sophistication with current trends.❤
I really prefer the ankle on show. I’ve been hemming up all my pants/trousers just a bit
Great content! It's amazing how you bring together timeless sophistication with current trends.❤

Keep doing the great work, this world needs more of it. 💕
I am watching!!!!!! You were amazing and so kind and so lovely and generous. I fan girled the rest of the day and my kids
I do like a loafer with 3/5 length cigarette trousers though! I like the chunkier footwear if you balance it with a French tucked jumper.
Lydia, could you talk about Grecian sandals or sandals with ankle straps and what to wear them with? Thank you!
love lessons with Lydia!
it would be great if you could cover also different styles of skirts one day :)

Hi Lydia! To my mind pairing wide leg trousers with loafers doesn’t work because it looks too masculine. Miami vice like…
😊
Just what I need right now
Great content its amazing how you bring together timellss sophistication with curtent trends.
Oh my gosh! Perfect timing! Thank you

Excellent job
With trainers it depends on whether you are wearing chunky Steve Madden type trainers or addidas samba or airforce trainers too
You are a awesome guider

Hi Lydia, I enjoyed your video. I really liked those wide-leg blue trousers, I couldn't see the link for the alternative trousers, could you please link. Thank so much.
It's lovely 😍😍😍
I love your videos! I just bought some Steve Madden loafers in black and white but now I’m thinking of switching out the white loafers for the one you bought from Sezanne! That transparency in the light blue pajama like pant is why I thought a lightweight sandal would look optimal.
It's amazing great content ❤❤.
