I like the cool look of a glow aquarium (prefer natural though), but I hate what they do to the animals to make them glow. I prefer animals that give a natural glow. Another tank I'd like to do at some point is a dark tank (black gravel and dark leaf plants, with clear animals (to look like little ghosts).
glo fish is a brand, they don't harm the fish in any way they are genetically breed that way. Other "glowing " fish are dyed various ways. Spread the word, a common misconception.
I want to setup glo fish tank for my boys room.i think glowing fish tank would be very nice for boys..i already had everything but dont know what type of lamp you use?..red/blue/white light?
There are lots of great filters out there, for smller tanks the Quiet Flow, or Marina Slims are good options. For heaters I like the Fluval brand, usually 3-4 watts per gallon will suffice
Tetras grow to be 2” so unless ur running a 50 gallon rated filter or better I would only do 10 unless the tank is planted to help combat with the nitrate spikes from the fish waste
Would you recommend this for a beginner? My daughters have been going on and on about getting fish and I have no idea how to maintain a tank nor know easy fish to start out with
In aquariums the bigger the tank the easier to get and maintain the proper water quality. Most beginners usually opt for a small cute tank and then regrett it immediately after water levels spike so fast. Best wishes and have fun!
Curious, I have a 6 gallon tank, I was planning to get 5-6 of these, is that a suitable amount? I know they’re a schooling fish so want to make sure they’ve got company
Feels like a mini golf course
You're not lying LOL : )
That looks so cool! I love the bright neon colours
Yup, it really looks good now, thanks for watching
I would like that mushroom house.
Its made by Marina iGlo if you are looking for them
I have glow tetras in a natural tank with angel fish n i will add plants soon hopefuly
They are very colorful, enjoy!!
@@PetsNPonds thanks i do enjoy them a lot! I got them for the colors, i don't care so much for glow! If i could i would make glo-Oscars! ❤

Glad I could help!

That's alot of fish in a 20 gallon. Geex.😯
We are a retail store, they are not there long and we do constant water changes. I would not recommend this for a home tank
@@PetsNPonds I didn't know that. Thankyou!🙂🐠
I have 5 glofish in a 50 gallon with 10 zebra danios. My glofish are 4 years old. Love your channel by the way.🤗

Clear/Glass type fish are really awesome, sounds like a good idea

Hi sir my name rohit Sharma India 🇮🇳good glofish tank and good looking aquarium
Thank-you!!
Does it need bubbles I heard pet o said they can die with to much oxygen?
there should be some areation , either through surface agitation, or an air pump
What kind of light did you use
Its a Aquarium Masters LED strip light, and I leave it on thre "night" setting so its just Blue LEDS
What else would I need besides a filter and a water heater?
Good LED lighting will enhance the color of the fish, and any type of decorations you like, and you are good to go
I want to setup glo fish tank for my boys room.i think glowing fish tank would be very nice for boys..i already had everything but dont know what type of lamp you use?..red/blue/white light?
My tank has Blue LEDs over it, Good Luck with your tank!
@@PetsNPonds thanks!!
Would a normal blue led tube be OK or would I need to source a uv led light to really make the colours pop?
Blue actinic fluorescents would work, ..I used the Blue LEDs but I don't use UV type bulbs
Hi
How many fish did you put in this specific tank?
What filter and heater do you recommend for a 5 or 10 gallon tank for glow fish?
There are lots of great filters out there, for smller tanks the Quiet Flow, or Marina Slims are good options. For heaters I like the Fluval brand, usually 3-4 watts per gallon will suffice
Can you add real plants and artificial together in one aquarium?
It would depend on the lighting. If you use the Blue LED Glo type lights, like I have on this tank it would not grow plants very well at all.
Where can buy like your artificial plants?
Here in Canada, they are available at virtually all fish stores
Amaziiing
Thank-you
Cool tank. What lighting you are using? Let me try the same in my tank as well
Its just an Aquarium Masters LED strip light, and I have it on the setting with the brightest blue.
how many tetras would you recommend for a 20g tank?
Probably 10-15 if you have good filtration
Tetras grow to be 2” so unless ur running a 50 gallon rated filter or better I would only do 10 unless the tank is planted to help combat with the nitrate spikes from the fish waste
I think the heater can mess up if you put cold water like that
??? ..water was close to room temp from the hose, and there was no heater in the tank at that time
Glofish R great 👍 they deserve love, too, they R gorgeous fish 🐠
They certainly make a nice display for sure, thanks for watching
Would you recommend this for a beginner? My daughters have been going on and on about getting fish and I have no idea how to maintain a tank nor know easy fish to start out with
Yes, absolutely, these Glo fish are very hardy easy to maintain.
In aquariums the bigger the tank the easier to get and maintain the proper water quality. Most beginners usually opt for a small cute tank and then regrett it immediately after water levels spike so fast. Best wishes and have fun!
how many tetras for a 3 gallon?😊
A 3 gallon is a bit small for them, but if you did I would only try about 2 of them, and do lots of water changes
Does it need oxygen sir?
As the filter is air driven and provides plenty of oxygen, Thanks for watching
Curious, I have a 6 gallon tank, I was planning to get 5-6 of these, is that a suitable amount? I know they’re a schooling fish so want to make sure they’ve got company
Six gallons might be a little small for six, but 4-5 should be ok
Google says 1 per 2.5 gallons
If someone can let me know the product he’s using to stabilize the tank, that’d be great! I couldn’t quite catch it in the video.
It was Seachem Stability
Looks great. Too bad it wasn’t set up on a lower shelf so it would be on children’s eye line. I bet a lot of kids first fish will be glow fish.
They really are eye catching and definitely a lot of peoples starter fish
WHAT SIZE TANK THAT WAS??
That tank is a 23 gallons / 87 L , thanks for watching!
