I’m really crying in a way I’m not used to after watching this. Something in this short really cut deep. I don’t know if it’s about grief or loneliness, but it brakes my heart that she’ll never hear from her family that they love her. I wanted so desperately for her to go with the other otters and stay with them. My heart broke when she got back, because of course she would, she love them and they’re her family. But she’ll just have to go through that grief over and over and won’t have anyone there to give her all that love she gives.
just what I needed to start the day right. A cute animation about animals with googly eyes which is actually a heartrending story about losing everything you love and not being able to cope with(/dying of) grief. It really takes the edge off the inevitable disappointment I will feel today, thanks.
this is so sad, yet to happy and inspiring at the same time! this otter has lost its family and has treated these rocks as its own family- and yet at the end when they are so happy to see them again, kinda shows a beautiful message about being grateful for what you have. the tiny rock movement at the end is the best part :)

This made me choke up, it was so touching and sad. T^T I interpreted it as the otter losing his parents and younger sibling, and using the rocks as stand-ins for his former family. But then he realizes that he has to move on and interact with living members of his kind, but he still comes back after winter to pay homage to the family he left behind, too. As for the little pebble moving at the end, I interpreted it as his family still being with him in spirit, even if they're physically gone. T____T

The otter is lonely..this made me so sad..that's why it was imagining the rocks to be it's family and having a good time with them in it's imagination..
Okay, everyone is saying this is so cute and stuff, but I don't know. To me the rocks symbolize the family the little otter has lost and is projecting them on the rocks, and when the little rock falls into the water it seems like that symbolizes how their little sibling may have drowned. I was happy when they left their imaginary family to be with real living beings, but was sadden when they came back to their "family" of rocks. Either it was to symbolize they couldn't give up the family they had created after the passing over their family, or they went to die where the family's graves where. Either way, it's sad to me, and the cheerful background and music makes it creepy.
I realised that the otter didn't find their sibling's and their parent's bodies and thought they turned into pebbles, and thought they'd turn into normal otter's some day but it never happens and it's accepted itself as a pebble as in to fit in with the replacement of their lost family
