I'm a 72 year old woman, and you folks just fill my life with joy. I love every creature on your farm. Jason you are a cutie no matter what length your hair is. 😊
I’M A 87 YEAR OLD & LOVE JASON BECAUSE HE SHOWS HOW MUCH HE LOVES HIS ANIMALS. WORKS SO HARD. BROOK HELPS OUT. STAY SAFE. I LOVE THE COWS & THE DONKEYS.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Y'all are so intertaining. I laugh right along with y'all. My husband has Dementia so I don't get a lot to laugh about anymore he used to make me laugh all the time. God bless y'all. Love and prayers. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏
My husband has dementia too and at times he is hilarious. One day he asked me if our son was with me (visiting him in the hospital) because he wanted him to get his motorcycle out of my car and put it in the garage. 😳 he doesn’t have a motorcycle and never did but I was wondering how he got his motorcycle in my car🤷🏼♀️. Then last week he was pointing up at the ceiling and he said to me “those people won’t talk to me”. I told him not to worry about it they were just rude 🤣🤣🤣
I am 76 yrs old and love to watch you all! Love seeing you all care for all your fur babies and feathered babies on cog hill. Seeing the birth of all the new baby goats and the care you gave to nugget! Thanks for all you do. I love you keeping up with all your cog hill farm
Y'all may get a surprise lol A female emu can lay up to 50 eggs in one year. Emus typically lay between 30 and 50 eggs in a season, which is typically between November and March. In the wild, an emu hen lays her eggs in a nest on the ground that is made of grass and sticks, which has been built by the male. Got this from Google lol fatten him up now just in case her strutting starts again😂❤
They say it will last until Sunday, May 12. I am so happy to hear Sheriff Nugget is doing well. He is an adorable critter. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, BROOKE AND BROOKE'S MOM.
Good morning Cog Hill Farm!! Jason and Brook you are SPOT ON CORRECT - "WAITRESS" is NOT offensive. I was a waitress in college, and that's how customers referred to me (those that didn't know my name). And you know why I wasn't "offended"??? BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I WAS - A WAITRESS!!! 😊😊😊 Those that might be offended, are probably offended by anything and everything. Complete nonsense these days. In any case - enough about that. I absolutely love and adore you guys, your farm, and your family. Y'all are beautiful people, spreading so much love and kindness. I'm now a nurse (don't forget I was a former "waitress" 😅😅😅), and I share your stories with my patients. I actually went on a "birding" walk yesterday, and I shared a story about nest making with the farm animals fur/hair. They were absolutely fascinated. Ok have a beautiful day in the Lord and thank you!!! 🌸✝️🐐🪿🐔🐄🐖
I was a waitress for a while, also cleaned houses, and became a Registered nurse for almost 20 years, stressed my heart overworking pulling as much as 72hrs a week. 6/12's.
Thank you for the Boston Butt history lesson! When we moved to Georgia from California I heard someone say they had a beautiful Boston butt, and I was .....🤔 huh? 😆
About 20 years ago, my business partner was also a fishing guide on the White River in north central Arkansas. Many times his clients would request a shore lunch. We would do all the prep work ahead of time, and I would bring everything to the chosen lunch site, and have the fire going, and everything laid out when the boat appeared. The huge frying pan (20 inches across) went on the fire while he cleaned the river trout, and the oil began heating up. In went sliced onions, to season the oil, then the homemade hush puppies were fried, and put out for the fishermen to snack on, while the French fries cooked. Next the fish went in, and got browned so pretty! For “afters,” I would make Rice Krispies bars. Half the contents of a 13x9 pan disappeared on shore, and the rest I had put into baggies, and sent the baggies with the clients for a mid afternoon snack. So much work, but it was great to see the looks on the clients’ faces when they realized the effort we went to, to make this fishing trip memorable for them. (Not the best or most nutritious lunch, but a very traditional shore lunch. We cut up fresh jalapeños, after removing the seeds, and put the minched pieces into the hush puppies, tasted wonderful without too much of a bite !)
Take a gallon glass jar, fill with water and add 10 tea bags. The regular size bags. Sit outside in the sun. Let sit till it cones to the color you like your tea. Take out the tea bags. Add one cup sugar or sweetener of your choice. Sit it in the refrigerator. Enjoy
I'm from Alabama and people laughed at me for saying I'll tote it to so and so. And they would say, carry is the correct word. So thank you Brooke for saying tote!
Doing a "practice run" with her milking machine was a good thing, at least you know the goats aren't bothered by the sound of it. I hope they both do well with the machine!!
To make sun tea… you must use a gallon glass jar with a lid that fits tightly. Fill jar with cold water, add 5 to 7 regular sized tea bags or 2 of the large. Set out in a place where it is sunny for at least up to 6 to 7 hours a day. Depending on how strong you like your tea, the longer it sits the darker and stronger it will be so you be the judge. Add sugar or whatever sweetener is your preference. As for the names of the baby girl goats, Im sure whatever you come up with Jason is going to be witty and cute.
I saw the Northern Lights all the time when I lived in Alaska. When I first moved there, I never knew about this, and then when I first saw it, my first reaction was that either aliens were landing or God was coming to get me.
The best way to take the corn off of a hot corn cob is to take a angel food cake pan stick the cob in the centerpiece and then just run your knife down over the cob and the 🌽 will fall right into the angel food cake pan.!
We saw YOUR post about the Northern Lights.... We went outside and even in town, we were able to see the rainbow arch..... Then we took off for the dark.... So impressed!!!! Glad you saw and shared
Brooke, you always look so FRESH.... No matter what you're going through. So ELATED your Honeysuckle Jelly turned out so well.... Especially for your MaryCarl
WE ALSO SAW THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS HERE IN WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND THIS EVENING, SATURDAY NIGHT . . . we have never seen it in all these years. It was the most beautiful pink and purple lights.
Brook, I am happy to say that you look the best you have looked in a looong time. You look like you have energy and that you are much happier. I am relieved.
I wish your show could last longer, but I know you don't. IT takes alot of work and time. It's just we enjoy your sharing your lives and farm with us. It's almost like being there with you, minus the chores!! Thank you for all of the continuing journey. Love you all. ❤
To make sun tea one gallon glass jug... Put 6 family size bags of tea into the jar of cold water put the lid on it sit it in the sun the Sun starts swirling in the water around as it warms up and releases the tea into the water and it is the best tea ever.! If the t is too strong for you pour out half into another container and cut it in half with more water till it's the strength you like.
I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. At night in winter, after helping Dad in the barn, I would watch the Northern Lights as I walked to the house. They were so beautiful. I live in Georgia now and I miss it.
My mom called hush puppies. OCTOPUSES. because she didn’t do something right. She would drop the batter into the hot oil n little legs would form. So instead of hush puppies we had OCTOPUSES. BAHAHAHA
YOU DID THE RIGHT THING I THHINK I WOULD HAVE LOST BABYS THAN NUGGET =ALWAYS A NOTHER TIME MAYBE ==PULLING EGGES THIS YEAR IS THE BEST TO LET NUGGET GET HIS STRENGHT BACK ===GLAD YOU ARE GOING TO TRY MILKING MACHINE -- HAVE FUN AND HAPPY MOMS DAY ===HUGS 🥰🥰🥰🥰
It appears the mama goats are teaching the kids to be afraid of the cats and dogs. That might have been how the mama goats learned how to be afraid themselves. 😊
Thank you for the live. The #1 channel to watch. What I love is that you are not jumping on live every 4 hours like some channels. You are telling us about the farm, the good and bad about the animals, and listening to both of your sense of humor. That and my second favorite coffee ☕️ Southern Pecan 😋 what a perfect morning. #1 Coffee is the Christmas coffee. Great way to start the weekend. I'm sorry about Nugget, I so wanted to see the little Emu's running around. Good decision 👏. Love seeing all the new baby goats 🐐. Thank you both Master Wordsmith Jason, and Brooke😅
Agreed, Jason. You are so entertaining and natural behind the camera, Brooke is too. When TV offers you a TV show, turn them down, because you will lose all control of your farm and family. Y’all belong to us on social media. The country version of Mr Roger’s. Don’t change a thing y’all do, just be yourself.
Corn meal with a bit of flour, buttermilk, chopped scallions, cream corn, one egg. You use the leftover meal from breading your catfish. Mix it all up then take a tablespoon and dip a bit out, form it on the spoon, then pop it into boiling peanut oil (which is what you used to fry the catfish) til golden brown.
Having been raised in a military family, I absolutely love all the different accents and takes on the English language throughout the U.S. I just revel in it.
I used to make sun tea. I always put the bags in the jar and left them in until I took the jar out of the sun. That was the smoothest tasting tea I ever had.
A long time ago there was a Shaw's Restaurant in Holly Pond , Alabama (east of the City of Cullman). Their hushpuppies were a tiny bit pink inside. We asked them what made them pink. They said they put a little ketchup in the batter and that made them pink. They were the best hushpuppies I ever ate.
I'm like Brook, I NEVER ate left - over fish or any seafood. But, when I got my air fryer I changed. It crisped up the fish and then I could eat it. Good video ya'll 😊
Sun Tea , yes it is really good, just takes a while. Hey Brooke I was anxious to see how the honeysuckle jelly worked out and how it tasted. I’m so sorry about what happened with the Emu eggs. My heart goes out to Nugget, Bless his heart . I thank y’all for sharing your real life experiences with all of us who watch your videos. Thank you! I just love you folks. Take care and May God Bless you. 🙏❤️🙏
I have to say… I’m so thankful Brooke is feeling better!(accept her leg) and I hope that feels better real soon! Her spunk is back!🎉 I see it in her videos and on lives. Bless you Brooke!!! I love you all so much❤❤ I’m so thankful you share your lives with all of us!!!!
Sun tea is easy to make. Fill a glass container with water and tea bags. Put cheesecloth or paper towel over the opening and place outside in the sun. After a few hours, it's ready to drink. ❤
We make sun tea in California! Family tea bags in glass jug. 2-4 bags depending on jar size. Keep strings outside lid. Sit it outside… you’ll know when it’s done by color. Sweeten after it’s done!!
My husband and I love old cars as well. We have a 1949 Ford Coupe and a 1985 AMC Eagle 4 Wheel Drive Wagon. Your daughter got a great shot of the lights, unfortunately we can't see them because I am in Texas and currently the air quality is bad because of control burns in Mexico.
My grandson took a couple pictures of the lights. Where we live is on a mountain in NY and it's fairly dark without all of the street lights. The pictures are really cool. Very vibrant colors
One year we were doing some star gazing in a field and we about to go home when the most beautiful northern lights started shining… it went from turquoise and green, to blue purple and pink and ended with shining orange
Experiment with cooking hush puppies in the air fryer be sure to spray lightly with avocado oil. Cook egg rolls and jalapeño poppers in air fryer also.
Happy Mother's Day Brooke ~ We seen the Northern lights but a lot more muted than you have lighter colors from MN ~Northern lights are created when energized particles from the sun slam into Earth's upper atmosphere at speeds of up to 45 million mph, but our planet's magnetic field protects us from the onslaught. Then we have southern lights are the Southern Hemisphere’s version of the northern lights - that is, they're both the aurora ~ I hope Goldie waits a year and a good idea to check the eggs I think Nugget was getting a bit worn out ~
So glad Nugget is ok. I agree about it being worrisome sitting on those eggs for so long and not eating or drinking. I’m glad he started to accept some food and water in the end. I’m really glad you read about the eggs and decided on checking them! You guys really always seem to get the best information about everything so you can make an informed decision!! Best farm ever!!
I used to make tea in an old pickle jar( I worked at a school, the jars were thrown out anyway). The teabags were put into the jar with water, then set in the sun outside ( screw the lid on) DELICIOUS sun tea!!! Add sugar,if you want!
When I make my coffee I put around a tablespoon of cream or creamer in the bottom of the cup and brew the coffee into it then add a dash of coffee syrup and if I am making a tall cup of coffee I press the temperature increase button for the last 4oz then add a touch more cream… oh and I almost always drink my coffee through a straw.
Morning Mr & Mrs C! Missed your live and the Borealis - was snoozing. Hard to see here from the big city lights anyway...Mrs- maybe you hurt your leg while you were dealing with goats and Nugget. Criss-cross applesauce hurts the legs as we all get older lol. Sorry to hear about your emu babies. I'm sure you'll get another chance - you are such a beautiful, kind and blesses family especially with all your animals. Have a great day! Warm and humid up here in Toronto today
During our corn season, I use the cobs, the silks that aren't brown and shrivelled and the inner corn husks to boil and get a tea from them. Strain and squeeze those out when cool enough, and make jelly from that. I've also added some finely diced hot peppers to it to make a pepper jelly. So good as a glaze on meat or over some cream cheese with water/table crackers. We had so much rain this season, I'm afraid I missed my window to get my honeysuckle pulled. As soon as I noticed they were ready, it started pouring. Last year I made an effort to get dandelion jelly and violet jelly made, both are a hit around here.
Don't feel bad Brooke. Every morning I do leg and hip stretches before getting up. I am 70 so have to stay limber. Well I have to say I must of stretched a little too much because my butt muscles hurt. I sit down i feel them - I stand up I feel them - I walk the dog I feel them. Just gotta wait to loosen up.
Good morning from Southern California! I watch the lives recorded, and I had my Cog Hill coffee while I watch you both talk! I love making sun tea, it has a smooth flavor, but no sugar for this 73 year old lady!😂 My coffee has no sugar either. Have a blessed Mother’s Day Brooke! Blessing to everyone !🤗💖
I'm a 72 year old woman, and you folks just fill my life with joy. I love every creature on your farm. Jason you are a cutie no matter what length your hair is. 😊
I kind prefer long! But you’re right, he’s a cutiee. We’re safe I’m also 72
Soon to be 72 and I’ve always liked the longer hair on men. 🤗😂
I'm 79 and I totally agree with you!!!!
Driving home from the dark, we witnessed the fluxuations of colors..... God is wonderful
I’M A 87 YEAR OLD & LOVE JASON BECAUSE HE SHOWS HOW MUCH HE LOVES HIS ANIMALS. WORKS SO HARD. BROOK HELPS OUT. STAY SAFE. I LOVE THE COWS & THE DONKEYS.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It’s called sun tea. You set water and tea bags out in the sun. It’s very good because it’s not bitter. You leave it until it’s as dark as you like.
I've done that for years- in Northern Indiana
We did it too, here in California. They even sell sun tea jars with built in spigots !!
boiling the water removes the oxygen causing the bitterness, which is why sun tea does taste better
@@joanmarlatt2722 that's what I have!
Any large (covered) clear glass
Jug will do, I think.
I have not made sun tea in a long time. Did that a lot in the 70’s and 80’s. Really good tea.
Y'all are so intertaining. I laugh right along with y'all. My husband has Dementia so I don't get a lot to laugh about anymore he used to make me laugh all the time. God bless y'all. Love and prayers. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏
I loved this couple
Laughter is such strong medicine, good for whatever ails us.
I live in western Canada and we get to see the northern lights all the time. It doesn’t matter how many times I see them, they’re always amazing.
Jason with this haircut you look much much better
"Waitress" is offensive if you aren't a woman/girl. People get offended when they are misgendered, and it's perfectly understandable.
Thank you for the Boston Butt history lesson! When we moved to Georgia from California I heard someone say they had a beautiful Boston butt, and I was .....🤔 huh? 😆

They used to call a Boston Butt the poor man’s ham because it was a lot less expensive than ham. It’s a great alternative and tastes delicious.
Jason your hair looks so much better. The cut will keep you cool for the summer.
I to am 72 and one half, I’ll be 73 in November. But your channel is one of my favorite homestead channels
I'm 70 and I agree100% with Helen and Piccadilly. Y’all are spot on about Jason, Brooke, Mary Carl and all the fur babies. Cog Hill Farms family 🌹🌻🚜
Take a gallon glass jar, fill with water and add 10 tea bags. The regular size bags. Sit outside in the sun. Let sit till it cones to the color you like your tea. Take out the tea bags. Add one cup sugar or sweetener of your choice. Sit it in the refrigerator. Enjoy
Have never heard of adding more than 4 bags tops.😂
Nothing better than sun tea!!
I live in my camper. That’s how I make my tea. I put it outside on a table in the sun. Yum.
I’m glad you are feeling better Brooke.
Brooke, I have bad leg just from watching how you sat checking the eggs!😂
You will find the drive shaft the first time you go out at night to do something important because you will trip over it 😊
Happy Mother's Day to you and your mom

Brook, I am happy to say that you look the best you have looked in a looong time. You look like you have energy and that you are much happier. I am relieved.

My mom used to say coffee tastes best from a dirty mug. She didn't want dish soap used in her coffee mug. Just rinse it and use it again. Lol
My husband never wanted me to wash the coffee pot. He said coffee tasted better from a pot that had been making coffee several times.
I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. At night in winter, after helping Dad in the barn, I would watch the Northern Lights as I walked to the house. They were so beautiful. I live in Georgia now and I miss it.

It was beautiful! I believe you can see it tonight also that's what the news said. I'm in MO.

Love your haircut Jason ! You look cool !
Sun tea is easy to make. Fill a glass container with water and tea bags. Put cheesecloth or paper towel over the opening and place outside in the sun. After a few hours, it's ready to drink. ❤

Experiment with cooking hush puppies in the air fryer be sure to spray lightly with avocado oil.
Cook egg rolls and jalapeño poppers in air fryer also.
Last time we had such beautiful northern lights so far south was in the late 1970's.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY BROOKE,, I hope your day is blessed & wonderful,,,I hope your leg feels better very soon 😊
My children’s grandmother from Switzerland always made 1/2 tea and 1/2 apple juice.
Sounds good.
Then we have southern lights are the Southern Hemisphere’s version of the northern lights - that is, they're both the aurora ~ I hope Goldie waits a year and a good idea to check the eggs I think Nugget was getting a bit worn out ~
I hope you have an amazing Mother's Day❤️💐
So glad Nugget is ok.
I love honey showing everyone her special ne leg protector and color is great❤❤❤❤❤from Barb from. New york
Happy mother's day Brooke. You my have aggravated your sciatic nerve going up and down the ladder. Have a great weekend 😊
Northern lights in northern Missouri was beautiful
Watching from Louisiana and we have thunderstorms this morning and Evening last night. I sure hope we don’t have no tornadoes today! I sure loved yah!
I used to make tea in an old pickle jar( I worked at a school, the jars were thrown out anyway). The teabags were put into the jar with water, then set in the sun outside ( screw the lid on) DELICIOUS sun tea!!! Add sugar,if you want!
Shorthair looks much better. Short. Better.
News in Iowa said you should see it throughout the weekend
Oh Brook don’t change your pronunciation of oil or any other word!! I love the southern accent it’s such a homey feel to me!!
My parents married even though there eas a language barrier. Mom from Tennessee dad from Vermont.
That’s perfect.
