excellent work, those datsun are very nice but the rust is their worst enemy, with perseverance and a lot of work will remain luxurious. greetings and I hope the next vídeo
Chappy, The deck filler panel (and many other panels) are now available thru www.FutoFab.com They have yet to get them on the website, but the price is $180 for the outer side of the area you are reworking. This would save considerable tiime.
I wish I knew that! I had checked your website for this and saw you didn't have them. If you look at my latest video I fabricated that panel. My results were OK but certainly not as good as if I had a proper stamped panel. I may look into re-doing that. BTW, I live not far from you and we had a brief email conversation back when I bought the car.
+IrishPalestinian that would be easier but I don't have access to any spare 510 bodies. Junk yards around here rarely have anything more than 10 years old.
Well I do applaud your approach, there is no reason you can't get it done. Probably need to shrink and stretch some pieces to get those compound curves. www.harborfreight.com/metal-shrinkerstretcher-set-68897.html (I know you are having fun, that is your most important tool!.)

Thanks I’ve got to do the same thing to a early 63 VW ‘notchback’ never done this before either
Those are cool cars. Not a lot of them around anymore. Good luck with your project!

Im gunna need to do this to my car soon
Wondering why you didn't use a section cut from a good 510 body? Just cut it out and weld it in.

Dont buy the already made parts, just fabricate them! We are all learning ;)
Mostly that is the plan. I will probably be buying at least one pre-made part but will mostly be hand fabricated. Glad you are enjoying it!
