Old Fashioned Snowball Cake
Ingredients:

For the Cake:
10- inch angel food cake
4 cups of Cool Whip
20- ounce can crushed pineapple in syrup
2 packets of gelatin .25 ounces each
4 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 cup white sugar
1 cup of boiling water
For the Frosting:
2 cups of Cool Whip
8-10 ounces of flaked sweetened coconut
Maraschino cherries
Directions:
Line a large bowl with parchment paper, set aside.
Cut the angel food cake into cubes. set aside.
Drain the pineapple and keep 1 cup of the syrup. If it doesn’t have a cup of syrup, add water to make 1 cup.
Dissolve both packets of gelatin in the four tablespoons of cold water.
Add the lemon juice, pineapple juice, sugar, boiling water together in a bowl, then add the gelatin. Mix well and put in the refrigerator until it starts to thicken up.
Once the mixture has thickened a bit, add in the pineapple and fold in the Cool Whip.
Put a layer of cake into the mixing bowl with parchment paper. Then add a layer of the cool whip mixture. Repeat until all is used.
Refrigerate overnight or for at least 10 hours.
When ready to serve, invert the cake onto a platter and frost it with Cool Whip. Sprinkle with coconut and place maraschino cherries on top.

We make our own pickled eggs finish a jar of your favorite pickles then add your boiled eggs. Let them sit for a week or two before eating them.

We used to suck the nectar out of the honeysuckles on the ditch bank when we used to jump ditches. That was what we did, jump the ditches back and forth. Sometimes they were wide and it was scarey. We had no video games or RUclips.🤪😜Lol!

The next time you see pickled eggs, try the ones pickled with beets. The juice will be dark purple, and the eggs will be a medium shade of purple. We think they are the best, but there are all kinds out there to try. My granny and my mom always made the beet ones. So so good!

We had to laugh at the video you guys had martins potatoe slider buns...we ate the same brand. We're in upstate new york in finger lakes area (way west of NYC..hours away!) So fun to see same walmart items you buy way down south ..and it's the same up here. Just not the weather...no gardens in up here. So amazing to see you have baby peppers growing!

My mama use to make this cake, especially at Christmas. She also would put it in a 9x13 dish which is how I usually make it. I usually see pickled eggs in the beet juice. That might be better. Interesting walk you all had. I love doing things like that. Thanks!
