My NFL comp for Polk is Davante Adams - very similar size and athletic profile, with Polk actually being a bit faster and significantly more explosive in the 40 than Adams. The first time I watched Polk run his routes, Adams jumped in my mind as a comp - neither of them is a burner and they don't create separation thru sheer speed but rather thru sudden change in direction. One can sort of see the Packers connection in the evaluation of Polk as a prospect.
We can nitpick if Polk would have been available later in the 2nd round but he is a good player, who came in a bit underrated in this draft class, imo.

@@MrJoeljoyThe Pro comp is to give you the ceiling for a rookie should his development follow a virually perfect route i.e. the comp is to give you an idea about the ceiling for that rookie at the NFL level.
What sense does it make to compare a rookie to a NFL vet who busted out and never reached his potential or just someone who never had the skills and potential to be anything but a depth player, to begin with?
Davante Adams didn't become a top WR until several years into his NFL career - basically until Nelson was still there, Adams was at best an extra.
P.S. Just rewatched the other night the Falcons vs Packers play-off game from the end of the 2016 season. Nelso was playing with busted ribs and was even then the focal point of that passing offense. Adams wasn't even a silent hick-up until the game had gotten out of hand. That was Adams' 3rd year as an NFL player.

  • @Kyle.Kirk24
    @Kyle.Kirk24 7 месяцев назад +1

Y'all want Tee Higgins and he's never been a GREAT #1, and y'all wanna trade for him and PAY him for what he's never been?
We just got a potential X receiver at 22 years old on a rookie contract. He is versatile and has the MOST talent in the WR room, immediately. He is an elite pass catcher in college. Nobody on our roster catches as well as he does. Also, he's proven to be the 2nd best receiver on one of the better offenses for a finalist of the CFP. Had over 1000 yards and 9 TDs UNDER Adunze. His production, for where he was on the depth chart, is dumb.
Also, quit acting like some of the BEST receivers in the NFL don't run 4.5 40s. He has the highest athletic grade of ANY WR we have. He is every bit of an upgrade.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! 😂
For 20 years, we unanimously agreed that Tom Brady made players. For 20 years, Tom Brady "had no weapons". Now all the sudden, we don't have this all pro QB, we have a decent receiver room?? We have TEN WR3's. Bourne is great but he's a 2 at best. Poor Douglas could be a great slot but he's so undersized he may never play more than 10 games his whole career and he's sure as hell not a WR2. Juju at best is a good slot but unless he gets some effort back in him, he's gonna go out in week 4 with turf toe and collect a check!
Hakeem Nicks was a similar player to Polk imo. Strong hands, really solid catcher and went at the end of the 1st. Unless you can run a route, you're in trouble.
Henry is a decent TE but Hooper is less than that and we still need a 3rd guy to make it through the season. Same situation at RB, great starter but no depth.
I'm a big fan of Brissett, I wanted to keep him over Jimmy Glass but he's not Brady and he's not going to elevate these guys beyond what they were 2 years ago.
They need to shell out for an x receiver or they're sub 6 wins this year without a doubt in my mind (christ I hope I'm wrong).
Really 7 or 8 of these guys would be great any established offense but here they're wasted. That's not even getting into the o line.
Also those Packers receivers had Aaron Rodgers! Adams in LV with Jimmy Glass was terrible! 😂

The only thing I can hope for is the following:
    1. They bit the bullet on JuJu Smith-Schuster and eat his salary (he and we need a clean slate).
    2. They make a trade for a true #1 X WR (my hope is Tee Higgins: he is tall and has not been able to X in Bengals offense with Chase).

Harry was not competitive like this guy. He attacks the ball. I agree he might struggle in man to man due to the speed, but on the same line of thinking he should do very well in zones with his solid consistent routes, his great hands and willingness to fight for the ball. You can get someone else with speed. You will still need a solid tough possession guy like this.

I’m not mad at the Polk pick but the tackle seems like a reach to me we could have picked a solid tackle in beginning of round 2 then traded up for Polk In Late round 2 that tackle pick seemed like a Bill pick to me WTF hope he works out looks to slow to me for a LT in NFL
