      When we get rid of them and take responsibilities for ours judicial system. That’s when this will stop. They insist on upholding the law as they wish, not as it is written. They came here and formed government through being criminals. So, what do you expect? Breaking the law makes us criminals, but crimes against mankind make them criminals within the government.

    Its heart breaking to hear/watch stories like this! I cant understand how people can be so evil that they just gun down innocent people and there are no repercussions! Hell is here on earth! And the only justification for these murderers (including the justice system, those who are ignorant and those who turn a blind eye) is that they are not human they are monsters and demons and things that nightmares are made of!

    For the people who say this has nothing to do with race let's talk about the John White case. John White was a 56 year old black man who lived in Long Island. His teenage son was attending a party with friends who were white. Three white teens came to his house to confront him over allegations that he did something bad to a white girl. The black teen was obviously scared. There were three teens ready to fight him for what he did or did not do to a white girl. Mr. John white went outside with a gun and started shooting. This evetunally lead to a 17 year old white boy being killed.
    Did Mr white get the same self defense claim used in this case.? Hell no. They put him in prison until Governor Paterson felt bad and pardon him. I remember watching the news at the time and white people were protesting to lock Mr.White up. White people why was Mr.White not treated like the shooter in this case?

    I just watched this documentary with my family which included my elderly parents. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. My heart absolutely breaks for this family. It's gut wrenching sad on so many levels. I can't imagine anyone watching this and not feeling this families pain. Loss and grief will bring you to your knees no matter what color you are. Then add the pain of not having justice for your loved one. We all can understand that right?

    As a middle aged white woman born and living in a city of Canada
    with European ancestors who were once immigrants and came to Canada on
    their own free will, I see racism, bigotry, ignorance and violence happening
    too often against all people. Sadly for me, even from those who I was
    once close to. However because of where I live, it’s my experience of
    having seen more racism toward aboriginals and speaking up for one
    problem does not diminish the problem any of the harm too many others
    receive.
    It is also my experience from the places I’ve been, people I know,
    things I’ve read and watched to say that the ‘western world’ is
    disconnected and this is largely what is causing so much ignorance and
    violence here. I have a love hate relationship with living in this
    western world. Hate for the disconnection, ignorance and violence. Love
    for the opportunities at hand, evolution into pop culture and for the
    few people that have empathy, patience, nurturing heart and more and who
    help the so many others in need and will stand up for anyone. There
    are more of these types of people in the ‘eastern world’ because the
    many great cultures there are connected in a variety of different ways.
    Their bonds are strong as are their hearts and actions for each other.
    Any time I see or hear such garbage, I speak up. Anyone who has had to
    deal with racism,
    bigotry, bullying or any kind of ignorance or violence, should speak up
    and/or take proper action against the ignorant and violent at anytime
    they feel they want to. Sadly it seems only those who have other
    connections and strong supports feel capable of speaking or standing
    up. This documentary is not something a person who’s gone through such
    horrific events would want to repeat by televising it but would to open
    the world’s eyes to a very important and horrific problem that spans the
    world. The ignorant are blissful because they choose to live a life of
    denial with little to no reality. The world needs to learn to hold
    everyone accountable properly for their words and actions and for those
    and what they are responsible for.

    My cousin Derrick Landis was murdered by his best friend brother. His best friend family disliked blacks and it was history of them just taunting him because him and Erin where friends. One Saturday afternoon he came passed her house to pick her up but when he arrived at the door her mother screamed and yelled at him for being there, well her brother heard the commotion so he joined in with his mother and then soon told my cousin to leave, as he was walking back to his car her brother struck my cousin in the back of his head with a bat. Because he didn't see him coming he was unable to flinch or break his fall causing him to crack his skull. The brother was given a 6 month house arrest and served zero time in jail. This happened in Philadelphia in the Northeast area I think 1994, Again my cousin name was Derrick Landis

    • @uglytruthist9914
      @uglytruthist9914 6 лет назад

      He must have accepted a plea bargain. The killer could argue it was self-defense, because your friend refused to leave. If just one juror agrees, it's a mistrial, and he walks. It was the best the state could do. Defendants have all the rights, as well they should.

    • @Theblackbumblebee

      My cousin was harmless and non violent. He was waiting on his friend who told him to come there. The son and mother was being extra because cousin and Erin have been friend's for ever.

    • @uglytruthist9914
      @uglytruthist9914 6 лет назад

      I'm not doubting that story. What I'm telling you is how it would play-out in a courtroom, which is all that really matters. It's not about race, or right and wrong. It's about the law. The state would have to prove your friend was harmless, which would be very difficult to do. The defense has the whole family to testify for him. If your friend had a criminal record, a jury won't buy that he was harmless.

No one in my entire Family from 5 generation have EVER been involved with the law. We are the only Black Landis's in the entire world. Our 5x great grandparents came from the Withers plantation in North Carolina. The author Legette Blythe wrote a book about my 4x great grand father and how he lived as a share cropper and builder, what im trying to say. Our family has no roots of sterotypical "blacks " I'm telling you my cousin Ricky was beautiful and harmless

We go get groceries and run back home. The looks, the smirks etc etc etc is uncomfortable. But I also work in healthcare and see that the boomer generation is all dying off so we are just holding off for now. Once they all die off, the younger generation will move here and it will be more Diverse-!!
    Feel so badly for this family and many more that go through this including myself.

    According to Mr. Williams best friend two days before Williams was at the garage throwing stuff around vacuum cleaner car door then left upset returned two days later started arguing with the owner of the garage was ready to leave and saw the 19-year-old Riley come to the front door of the garage Riley looked at Williams and went back into the garage Williams then says to his best friend that's the guy who cursed out to my mom then went into the garage afterRiley then gets shot.in the documentary Williams best friend says that Riley had other options he could've ran out the back door?
    If Riley was not in any danger why would he have to run out the back door he is in his place of business.
    This comment was made by William best friend because Williams best friend saw how angry Williams was.
    And he knows that Williams was going after this kid. In the documentary right before the argument with the garage owner Williams best friend says oh god here we go again.
    It's sad that someone was killed over a few words but I feel that if somebody goes after you and your home or in your place of business you have a right to defend yourself doesn't matter if the person is on armed or not this was a 240 pound man going after a skinny little 19-year-old kid I'm pretty sure that kid was terrified. Williams should've called it a night went home and calm down he would still be alive today it's Bretz friend said that he was a big guy and very intimidating .this is the one time that his size and intimidation methods got him killed

    started watching this show thinking, poor young black guy turns up at a garage and gets murdered by racists for nothing more than the colour of his skin. i certainly didnt think that by the end. i dont think this girl should ever have made this documentary. if she was trying to convince me this was a racist murder, she has done the opposite. its not till near the end of the doc that we find out this guy had been to the garage previously and been quite violent so who could really say that when he returned and again went after the same guy, that guy didnt fear that he was there to finish the job this time? sorry but thats a huge leap of faith. again, while stupidly making this documentary why would the sister interview her dead brothers best friend and then leave in his line "yea me and your brother went out all the time looking for trouble and girls. 90% trouble 10% girls". this hardly tallies with the squeaky clean image your trying to portray about him. ive seen a lot of documentaries with genuine racism, police cover up etc but this certainly wasnt one of them. all i took away from this was a sister trying to ease her own guilt about not stopping her brother going back to a place were she knew he had been violent previously. not a lot else.

      Well put Michelob ... I had the exact same impression from this film ... I was actually thinking initially that there would be some serious injustice to learn from ... but it was self defense (American style) ... I mean yeah that doesn't happen as much up here in Canada simply because we dont have guns everywhere up here ... if she wanted to make a point about guns .. sure... but that wasn't what it was about .. its tragic, yes ... but it seemed justified according to American law to me ... even with as much bias as this filmmaker could garnish... it's still just a tragedy ... not an injustice.

    You should create a uploader side to netflix, you could make restrictions based off of age so you would be doing something youtube isnt.. the start up will be rough with all of the people on youtube but with all this crap youtube is pulling and the large quantitie of people on youtube and on Netflix (includes me), they will fade away from youtube.. this can also make for new people and new types of content to become bigger. RUclips probably has pattens on lots of things so instead of subscribers it could be something like NetScribs or smt and it could be formatted much diffrent then youtube but in a way just as easy to maneuver.
    Hope you are able to respond to this message
    I understand that their may be some more technical sides to this idea that would make sense to not get into this game
    Just an idea

    I was a bit perplexed about Barbra's remarks regarding "too many blacks in her new neighborhood". Why was that a problem to her? The irony is a non-black man killed her son outside of the all-black neighborhood.
    Yance did a great job in telling this story, the damage caused by the death of her brother, that is often times overlooked by non-black people. They seem to think we don't love our family members as much as they do theirs.

    Stuff like this heartbreaks me. I'm glad since that time we've come a long way on racism. But as long as we live we will have this problem. Everyone should give everyone equal treatment. As a white male I personally believe their are more better African Americans in the world then white people. They are tougher, and will fight for what they believe in. I wish the whole word could look at heart and not color. Rest In Peace and I'm looking forward to watching this series ❤️

    I personally don't enjoy the premise of this movie simply because they didn't choose a good storyline to show that racism is still alive and well. The exact same scenario would've most likely played out had it been two black men or two white men. It's not a Trevon Martin story, which is something I would've liked to see. There was a much better way to make this movie.

    I really wanted to like this but it was more than twice as long as it needed to be. There was almost no "investigation " as the documentary was described. A ton of silent gaps and scenes of stuff that wasn't relevant. This whole film could have been done in a 30 minute episode and it would have been a better watch. The whole thing was basically telling a story not investigating. Not sure how this got such great ratings.

    I just watched it, feel bad for the family as they lost someone they love. I’m still a little confused as to the overall premise of racial inequality, in this particular case. But I completely get why the film makers packaged it as such. It’s the sole reason this’s even on Netflix

  • @getreal9148
    @getreal9148 6 лет назад +5

    I feel very sorry for the family and the suffering endured from the loss. On the other hand this guy shows up throwing stuff and grabbing hammers, threatening people at the shop, then comes back after they got the car back saying hes going to get them shut down, catches a glimpse of guy hes mad at and goes inside the shop after him, Gets shot, then it turns into white people are rascist and they got treated unfairly beacuse they are black. You cant go to places threatening people, come back afterwards, go after somebody and then claim its because hes black that nothing happened. Its terrible what happened but come on now. Seriously

    The film should not be seen as an indictment of race relations, especially grouping it into the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement. This was a tragedy of conflict between two people that knew each other, which destroyed an entire family. This was NOT a police shooting. The injustice happened that sometimes happens when the legal system is following of the letter of the law. The law failed this family, and the human need to find a "reason" and "someone to blame" has made this a racial matter. People should not use their hurt and anger to become a mob mentality to "blame" a particular group. It was a conflict between two men, and it turned to violence, which is very sad. It could have happened between any two men of any combination of races.... The legal result would have ended the same....

    Jesus, I come to you as a sinner in need of your forgiveness. I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you went to the cross, died in my place, paying my sin debt. That you were buried & rose on the 3rd day to everlasting life. Jesus, right now, I choose to receive you as my Savior; trusting in you alone for my salvation. Thank you for forgiving me. • @gabogd5885
    @gabogd5885 5 лет назад

    Just my opinion...William Jr. was a big guy who by his own friend's admission came a day that realized his size could be intimidating to people, and who used to go out "looking for trouble", It looks to me like he went into a wrong place trying to assault a smaller man for whatever reason and got shot, they didn't show much details about the shooting to say if it was true self defense but it sure looks like it, specially after the incident with the Corvette and everything that happened before.
    I definitely think the shooter should have been changed with something and that's what's fucked up about it because it also looks like those guys were criminals. Feel bad for the family but I understand why the investigator couldn't do much.
