It was GREF ROMAN SYSTEM THAT WAS HOLDING LAMAR BACK ….SPEAK THE TRUTH …Lamar wanted him gone after 2020 season …The same year Hollywood left Lamar wanted him out but the media created a narrative that Lamar could only play in that system and the Ravens created it for him …Lamar did not like it !!

    • @RavensTheNextDynasty

Exactly!! And last year his numbers would have been better but they had such large leads and the defense was so good, he just spent half the games milking clock and not stat padding. This year because of the lackluster defense he is having to stat pad in a way just because a lot of the games are shoot outs. And he’s proven time and time again he can win shootouts

Actually I bet Jim Harbaugh sold the idea to John. Kapernick was the blueprint with Greg Williams. Cheap wide receivers on rookie contracts plus multiple tight ends don't eat up salary cap so they spent money on defense in Lamars first years. No free agent receivers wanted nooo part of Baltimore.

Two things can be true at the same time. It is true that there is literally nobody currently playing football that is more incredible to watch than Lamar Jackson and it is also true that Lamar has faults-he still needs to win the SB has to get better in other ways. His faults do not negate his greatness. Mahommes is not having the best start to the season and he himself has said he’s not playing well-does that negate his greatness? Absolutely not. Some of you need to learn to walk and chew gum and the same time-stop with the tunnel vision and the Lamar hate-it’s getting boring now.

You’re right but players will always be judged by championships. Mahomes and the Chiefs started off terrible last year and had people wondering if they were the worst offense ever and if their reign was over. We obviously can’t know what’s going to happen until it does. If Lamar beats KC and wins a ring, a lot of them will move the goalposts, sure, but most of them will shut up.

He could be the greatest to ever do it but people only count rings. It’s a semi-fair argument. But GOAT status is not just rings. You have to take a player for their whole. Their stats, their rings, their accolades, their impact to the game. Brady meets all of those qualifications and that is why he is seen as the GOAT QB. Can’t say player, every position deserves its roses and folks get caught up in that cycle. That’s ok. We are slaves to emotions.
Lamar will be a hall of famer and a champion when all is said and done.
Some of his criticisms are fair but we are speaking of a team sport not an individual like wrestling or shotput, etc. he had a team that can get him there.

This is a modern take and I hate it so much. When I was growing up, titles didn’t define entire careers like they do these days man. There was nuance and actual conversation about a team and their ability as a whole to be successful. I’m not sure when, but I think it was around the time Lebron won the scoring title that your entire career came down to how many rings you have. It’s stupid. Why even care about the season if all that matters is the superbowl? This isn’t even about Lamar individually. It’s about these narratives as a whole. Peyton Manning didn’t even get to a Super Bowl until year 8 and I remember him being called the future GOAT behind Marino before he won. For most of my life the debate about QB Was Montana vs Marino & nobody dismissed Dan because he had no rings. Ask somebody today and they’ll say he was average at best cause he never won. If they can flip the script on the Chiefs and find a way to get past them, they absolutely can. I know, we can sit here and talk all we want, it doesn’t matter until it happens. But everyone said Jordan couldn’t beat the Celtics… until suddenly he did. Then he won 6 rings in 8 years (the other 2 he didn’t even really play in). The team around him now is young enough and talented enough to keep him in the Super Bowl conversation for years. So IF he can figure out how to beat the Chiefs once, there’s no reason he can’t continue to do it over and over again.

It's been stated by someone watching him during the Washington game, that he was making checks all game long. Checking into plays consistently that befuddled the opposing DC. Roman wouldn't let him do that. For 4 years, people kept saying, he can't read defenses. He wasn't allowed to. He was forced to play reactionary all game. Lamar is the Allen Iverson of the NFL. Lots of flash. All-Star games. MVP. Make defenders look dumb. Fun to watch.
Being fun to watch doesnt make you a winner in the postseason. Any sports figure considered one of the best needs to show up in the postseason. Lamar has not just lost, he's played poorly in 5 of the 6 games. In those 5 postseason games he has 9 turnovers. Only averaging 11 points per game (and most was in garbage time).
