Taking in a live performance, even through the Internet just feels so special. It's like looking at the moons of Jupiter or the rings of Saturn through a telescope, even if it's displayed a screen, as opposed to looking at photographs of them.
Seeing such a beautiful instrument playing modern music is trippy af. I expect to hear classical whenever I see a violin but modern music actually sounds really nice on it.

(And by the way talent will only get you so far without hard work.) But many people refuse to believe talent exists because they don't want to accept two things. They don't like the idea that you can't be anything you want to be, no matter how hard you work, if you don't have the talent for it. And they don't like the idea that some people are born better than others. But it's all true--talent is a thing. Just like innate personality traits are a thing. And you can't do a damn thing about it, so you better embrace it as it is the truth.
The fact that all these young kids/adults are utterly stunned shows you decimation of music programs and not just classical, all kinds of music across cultural boundaries. Exposing kids to just one instrument has their minds blown. I was a vocal student for many many many many years and it still makes me smile when kids hear genuine music mixed in with their own generation students and they act like it has been hidden the whole time. My point is that the listeners featured in this video value cultural relevance and familiarity over technique. I think this is the case with most people. It was not written to slight them. On technical skills, Rob's playing is anything but basic. Whether pop or classical, he plays with masterful musicality and "effortlessly" injects his own flair. People can play anything and make it sound dead or alive. Rob never delivers a stillborn and that's what people appreciated, to go back to my original comment. In case I misread your message: Maybe a couple of the listeners began with some apathy, thinking, "Great... another boring classical player," but Landes blew that smugness straight out of the water every time and they ended up enjoying his gift to them.
No matter race, creed, location music is a beautiful universal language everyone can love. The biggest disappointment is how schools across the US are dropping music departments hindering future people from being able to express this kind of beauty. We can not allow music to turn into another unspoken language.
They drop sports and music because they know people are stupid and will allow more taxes to be put on themselves and their neighbors to spend more on that while they waste SOOOO much money on other BS. Public schools are garbage!!!!
It's awesome to see younger people, who are inundated with pop and modern music, have such an honest reaction and appreciation to classical instruments and skill.
Notice how noone actually appreciates the violin until someone literally plays it in their face. Everyone instinctually connects to how well it conveys emotion.
And a classical musician will never know the feeling of having a crowd of 30,000 people, singing YOUR song back to you on stage, because they LOVE it and you. It doesn't really hurt me, but I felt like saying it.

@@garliconamain According to books written by neurobilogist Louann Brizendine, there are huge differences in thinking between men and women - there's a thing called temporoparietal connection in your brain which is actually centrum of cognitive empathy and she says (already on page 9 in the book explaining men's psychology (I don't know the title, but it's "bestseller" you should easily find it for verification) - she says that men have this brain part more active. That means when they're excited they really mean it - they're more honest with their reactions, no hypocrisy. So I would recommend to stop infecting RUclips with your desinformation

Yup, I hated playing the trombone in middle school, in the early 90's, (I was forced into it) but that in itself made me learn to play it better on my own as I started figuring out how to play Metallica and the likes just because I hated the boring crap they made us play. Obviously later on I picked up other instruments that I actually WANTED to play.

This is amazing. As a kid and to this day I love the violin the most. As a child I begged my mom to let me learn.. my mom rented a violin to see if I would stuck with it. And even got me classes. I loved it... sadly we couldn't afford to keep renting the violin, And pay for classes. I think I cried for weeks begging to keep being able to play. I eventually will be able to do it. You play beautifully!
Music has the power to move beyond words.... no one can help but be awestruck by music played exceptionally well. And part of me thinks Musicians crave the "Stunned silence" of a captivated crowd... people moved to emotions by their skill.

This is amazing. As a kid and to this day I love the violin the most. As a child I begged my mom to let me learn.. my mom rented a violin to see if I would stuck with it. And even got me classes. I loved it... sadly we couldn't afford to keep renting the violin, And pay for classes. I think I cried for weeks begging to keep being able to play. I eventually will be able to do it. You play beautifully!

Music has the power to move beyond words.... no one can help but be awestruck by music played exceptionally well. And part of me thinks Musicians crave the "Stunned silence" of a captivated crowd... people moved to emotions by their skill.

@@heyheyedits that show and sorry for the word but is pure crap for musicians. The judges obviously don’t care about little details in classical performances and they just hear freaking flight of the bumblebee and not even in the correct tempo and start to lose their minds lmao it has happened

This is classical music it is hands down the best to listen to.don't need words.
