Fast Forward to Nov 2023.LCBO has batch#4 on sale for $65.85. Bought a few for reserve. Saving 1 to be opened in my trip to Hong Kong. I'm afraid they might turn away from the intensity so I think it's better to bring a small 200 to 375ml of the regular Alberta Premium in order to get them warm up.

I was searching (online) one of my local liquor stores for cask strength bourbons and this came up and when I went to RUclips to find a review on it, and I found out that its a $60 bottle and the site listed it at $31.99, I searched other stores and every one of them had it listed for $69.99! I got their as quickly as I could and that ($31.99) was the price? the clerk that helped me said it was the last bottle and that "they" whoever they are said to drop the price and I told him if that's so, you're the only ones passing the savings on to your costumers everyone else has it for $69.99. He said Well then you better savor it because you most likely won't be getting another for that price. Mine is the newer bottle batch #3 and its only 63.7% abv. still 127.4% can't wait to try it! Great review and 🥃Cheers!

Didn't get the chance to try Batch 1 but really enjoyed 2 and 3. For some reason on Batch 3 I find this note or character similar to some Texas whiskies which I love. Cheers! 🥃

I’m sipping on batch 3 tonight (63.7 ABV) and wanted to watch a review comparing it with other Alberta Premium CS Ryes (I’ve also got batch 2, but I’m not sipping it tonight).
For me, the nose is super sweet with confectionary white sugar, cotton candy, with lots of pepper (maybe cinnamon) and a little bit of fruit (like an orange citrus). On the palate, I pick up all that black pepper that fades to burnt cinnamon and caramel. It’s still really sweet but, for me, the baking spices are what shines through on the taste. It does have that minty burn with that sugary confectionary flavor as well. The finish is kinda buttery/oily and after the black pepper/cinnamon flavors subside, I get notes of red apple and juicy fruit gum which makes my mouth water for a minute or so after each sip. And yet, it’s still rather drying… it’s like my mouth is watery (saliva) but my tongue is super dry.
Thanks for the review and letting me sip along with you. Cheers!

I always wondered just how close these batches were and if it's necessary to own all of them. Thanks for your review. Cheers, Rob 🥃🇨🇦

Still searching for those apricots in Batch 1....but I've never gotten apricots on anything. Regardless it is a great dram. The price is creeping up though....

Great walk through Rob. I still like the first one the most, but then the 3rd, followed by the 2nd. I did do a blind between the 1 and 2, but sadly I am out of 2 so I cannot do a blind across all through.

I was hunting around NJ last spring and the price kept going up $99, $129, $199 until I heard the Jim Murray fact and I bought batch 2 for $75. The shop that gave me the info is always $15 over priced. But they really didn't gouge, sort of annoying but they have a few interesting bottles. Glad to have the bottle even though it's NOT whisky of Any Year. I'm in downstate NY and they do some sweeter 100% ryes here that should get some love. Taconic and Fort Hamilton are just 2 that I have in Cask strength that have more body and depth of character than 66%. No love for batch 2.
      What a journey!
