Bought my Mk 3.5 Titanium 1.5 tdci 120 in June 2021 with 71k miles on the clock. I have covered 16k miles in the car to Sept 2022. Mechanically and electrics wise there have been no issues with the car except that the air con system needed a new condenser unit and to be regassed - total cost of this repair was €400. Fuel economy has been really strong with the car averaging 57mpg. The car looks sporty, especially from the side and front. Refinement levels, especially tyre and road noise are much improved over the mk 2.5 model, which I owned previously. Gearbox is lovely to use and with cruise control, SYNC 3 and dual zone climate control, the car has all the tech I need. There is some very clever storage options in the centre console. Finally, the car is very refined when just cruising, but if you find a twisty back road, and you decide to have a little fun, the car comes alive and puts a smile on my face, by the way it corners and responds. On the downside, the the driver seat angle on the Titanium spec is a little steeper than the mk 2.5 and the mk 3.5 Zetec seats which leads to moderate back ache/bum ache on longer trips (i.e. trips of say more than 1 hour…in future, a driver seat with “tilt” functionality is advised if there are concerns about the angle of decline on the driver’s seat…Also, I am 6ft 2 in height, so it maybe that shorter drivers will not experience the same issue - I use a wedge cushion which has improved the issue a lot - just wondering does anyone have any other suggestions to make the driver's seat more comfortable on long runs - much appreciated
I just bought a 17 plate 1 ltr 125ps titanium x on standard 18inch wheels and it's test thing I have ever driven . Originally I owned a 99 plate zetec then an 06 titanium all had no issues and drove brilliant .
@@pauljohnson9326 Titanium X..Nice.. best of luck with it...interested to hear how you get on with it..I am 18 months in owning my Titanium 1.5 tdci and have to say it is a very good car
I have the exact same car. Mk3.5 titanium x 1.5 TDCI. I’d challenge anyone to bring me a better car in its class. Especially when it comes to the way it drives!!! It has virtually no limits. The 1.5s and 2.0s are absolutely bulletproof engines. Build quality is up there with the premium brands, maybe even better. I could go on and on! Fantastic cars!
Just got the Titanium X. Talk about value for money! Drives really well. I tired the A3, 1 Series and Golf and punted for the Focus on this Trim. They are all great hatches but the Focus in Titanium X just gives so much extras for your money and coupled with the generally agreed upon best driving experience in the class with engines not far off VW it was a no brainer (and may I say the front end is a match for anything in the class). Build quality this time round is much improved (I have driven the older model and yep Ford has upped their game). It really is hard to beat. Resale don't care you always are ripped off by dealers I have never found trading in a money maker on the back end, but I suspect the Titanium X trim will hold up well as it is packed with toys people will want over say style and zetec which are not. The problem with Ford is the Focus trims start at total basic crap all the way up to above spec of any German hatch. It is hard to compare therefore. The only downside is yes German cars have this marketing factor that they are super exclusive (which is generally nothing more than marketing as they are also mass produced lol) - but if you don't wanna be thought of as super cool but want toys toys toys and a great driving car at a good price - here it is! Yanks still make great cars.
The 1.0 ecoboost is a lot better than you think. I was so surprised when I test drove it. Went there to get the 1.5 d but ended up buying the 1.0 ecoboost titanium . My old car was a vw golf 2.8 v6 and I think the focus is a better car all round.
I am in the market for a new(ish) car and have the Focus towards the top of my wish list. I already own a 2009 model which has been WONDERFUL to own. My current model is an Econetic with a 1.6 diesel. How does the 2015 Titanium Navigation Econetic stack up?
Hi Eric. Simple answer is that, if you loved your 2009 Focus, you’ll adore the 2015 model. Very similar in character and still fun to drive, but a little more comfortable, a little quieter, a little better on interior quality and a little better equipped. The steering isn’t quite as sharp (it’s an electric system rather than hydraulic), but the other improvements more than make up for that. Econetic engine is just as good as before and even more economical. We’d always advise you to try before you buy to make sure you’re happy with the car, and there’s no harm in having a look at rival hatches like the VW Golf and Seat Leon as well. But, if the Focus floats your boat above those cars, there’s no reason not to. Happy motoring!
Auto Trader Thank you for your advice, I am just about ready to trade in (a week or so I reckon) and I think a 2015 Focus with all the bells and whistles fits the bill!!
Auto Trader Hey, I'm in America. The Focus seats DO fold flat. You have to pull the seat bottoms from the back up and forward. Then, you can put the seat backs down. However, if you do that, the front seat would have to be forward a bit. Not great for tall drivers. If you can't put the seat all the way down, then the load floor is angled. The set up is similar to the old Ford Escape (2012).
PLEASE call or write Ford Customer Service. Tell them we want the new generation Fiesta and/or Focus hatchbacks with manual transmission option in the U.S./Canadian market. If all their customers are telling them, they'll listen and bring us BACK these best-in-class driver's hatches. Thank you for your support in this petition effort!
Good marketing idea - you have to pay more money to get the door handles painted the same colour as the rest of the car. I think I might have to get that lobotomy after all, just so I can understand how other people think..
Hi Tom, You will be able to find all the information you need from our full expert review www.autotrader.co.uk/content/ford-focus-review-hatchback-2014
Amazing. I own a 2009 1.6 Econetic and it has been 100% reliable. For that reason alone, when I trade it in I want another one. Cheap to buy, cheap to run and great to drive too.
Chad Harmon you must have had a bad apple mate I had a 2005 ford mondeo I owned for nearly 9 years I put 90,000 miles on it,it never broke down the most expensive parts I had to replace on it were a set of 4 new tyres
musarman The Focus trails on boot size, with its cramped 316-litre load bay increasing to only 1,101 litres. The Golf offers 380 litres with the rear seats up and 1,270 litres when they’re folded. Read more: www.autoexpress.co.uk/volkswagen/golf/62037/vw-golf-vs-ford-focus#ixzz3QLXabb12
You’d be surprised at how pokey a 1.0-litre can feel when its helped out by a turbocharger. It’s flexibile and smooth, and it can indeed cope when loaded up with people and luggage. If you don’t believe us, take one for a test drive - we think you’ll be surprised.
1.0l engine is bit too under powered when leaving from stand still. You can feel it bogging down a bit when releasing clutch. If you drive lot in cities with traffic lights it can get annoying. Runs suprisingly well on road speeds though. 1.5l engine feels completely different in those same situations. There's enough torque to make safe passings on highways and can give nice feel of acceleration.
If u buy a focus from 2010 to 2017 you will wish you dident. Just go in for the Titanium and a wealth of extra specs are included as standard. Best hatch by far,
"the reason why it is so common because it is so popular" great english
Mangofresh2012 Haha I thought that!
The English was fine; a minor issue with the tautology but that's about it. The crime is writing "English" with a small 'e'. Now go get an education.

I fancy a Titanium Navigation, 1 year old. Would you recommend one?

I own a 2o16 ford focus trend with the new transmission upgrade and new sync 3 sat nav and cannot fault this car it is totally brillant
In the older model you could lift the rear seat cushion then fold the back of the seat flat.
I like Ford Focus hatchback review - Auto Trader
Very good video!, this Focus comes with 6 speed gear box manual??...thank you!

No problem at all. Let us know how you get along with it. It would be great to hear how it is to live with.
Auto Trader Thank you. I will ensure you guys are the first to know!
you do realise that pulling up the seat bases gives a completely flat load bay
The video is factually incorrect as the rear seats do fold completely flat. You do however need to raise the base in order to achieve this.
We’d disagree. Even when you fold the seat bases out of the way, the backrests lie at a slight angle.

At least that model doesn't have the PowerShift, thankfully.
If can't invest to road quality invest into a better suspension, it's so good for your parking lots.

I dont want fun, i want comfort,,, what to buy?
Also the 1 in the video is a titanium x not a titanium.
Wtf... They get auto dimming mirrors?
How reliable are Ford Focus cars?

Lovely car to drive, but the boot is way too small.
No way, the boot's bigger than the golfs and most other hatchbacks. One of the reasons I chose the Focus again

1 litre petrol engine in a car this size? no thanks. not if you have any passengers or load in it.

i used to have the 1.0, brilliant engine! so so fun!
Manufacturer will not make an engine that can not move a car.
This ford 1.0 turbocharge Ecoboost engine is different from 1.0 normal engine. They told 1.0 turbocharge Ecoboost engine is like 1.6 normal engine.
