Passa as cognition and perception...with passa a feeling/sensation/vedana comes up...all three co-arise. With perception comes vitakka-conception/identification. with conception recognition happens. This series of antecedents are not temporal ...happens at same time, simultaneously not from past to present-future. By opening eyes we create the whole world...seeing is subject and what is seen object..in the seeing we create both subject and object by process of perception.
According to the teachings of Omniscient Buddha Meditation (BHAVANA) is described in Maha Sathi Paattana Suthraya as: Continuous observation of your own system to see whether it is performing all day to day duties with defilements or Seven Factors of Enlightenment. Seven Factors of Enlightenment could only be inculcated to your system by enhancing Impartiality or "Majjima Patipadha" May the triple gem bless you all!
Thank you. Different translations maybe useful for some people (but not for many others). The core teachings of the Buddha constitute the understanding of the arising and ceasing nature (the impermanent nature) of all ‘sanskaras.’ So no matter how we translate various Pali words (using simple language or using complicated terminology), all these ‘perceptions of words’ are also ultimately arising and ceasing (are of impermanent nature). As stated in the talk, along with seeing the impermanent nature, one needs to see the 3 universal characteristics of existence (impermanence, suffering and non-self). As I see it, ‘ignorance’ refers to not ‘seeing things as they are’ (that is, not seeing the three characteristics). Ignorance is what leads one to greed and hate. Regarding the question someone asked -investigations of the physical world (quantum physics) operate in the sammuthi world (conventional world); what the Buddhist teachings seek are paramartha dharma (ultimate realities) - the two are very different and cannot be compared. Also, I think aggregates are not only the ‘constituents of the process of perception,’ but constituents of all experience of an individual (includes feelings, intentions, etc.). With meththa.
"I think aggregates are not only the ‘constituents of the process of perception,’ but constituents of all experience of an individual (includes feelings, intentions, etc.)." How are these not perceptions of the mind? As such, they would be constituents of the process of perception.
@@SBCBears Budda discusses this at length with Ananda.. and finally Ananda realized the mind's perception... and looked back from that as well. Quantum is the root of deconstructionism discussed at length in the first part of the Digha Nikaya in a trap of the perfect net. You'll understand this first concept easily if you understand Pali.. then when the rest unravels you'll surpass that quantum consciousness along with the other parts as you learn to interpret them correctly.
Towards the end when asked a well put question regarding determinism vs quantum physics (probability/chance) ...the Bhante struggled to give a coherent reply. It was if he simply failed to understand the logic of the question put to him. In the end, the person asking politely gave up after repeating the question several times. For me this points to Buddhism being willing to sight certain scientific evidence as being in line with Buddhism, but when it is or may not be, other certain scientific ideas/theories/facts are not mentioned. Peace
Bhante was talking specifically about "psychic determinism", not a material determinism. The level of analysis of the question, perhaps necessarily posed in broad generalities, does not sufficiently articulate the details of the concepts of the two fields to permit a more focused answer. It seems to me that Bhante understood the question and replied appropriately.
Crow T. Robot - I perceived things differently and humbly believe my observation valid; your comment serves only to defend the un-defendable, over complicate a fair and simple observation shared not just by myself buy all those present with me at the time of watching at my local Vihara, and further supposes you know what the Venerable Bhante was thinking/perceiving. Much peace and wisdom [thread closed]
So, my comment "further supposes you know what the Venerable Bhante was thinking/perceiving"? How exceptional you and those present with you are to suppose thay you do know what he was thinking/perceiving.
Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu ! It's not easy to find a true teachings of the Buddha nowadays, Ven. Punnaji and Ven. Dhammavuddho give us the true Dhamma.
+Shreds of Wisdom the true teaching is found in the Sutta and Vinaya Pitakas, it doesn't get any truer
The true dharmma is what you realize from the inside. What's outside is a shadow.
Even if one person reads constantly the suttas, needs to listen a teacher who has realized the Dhamma, that is a Buddha's advice.

Ignorance, from the Buddhist perspective (Avijja), means to not understand the four Ariyan Truths.
