I speak to somr of my Muslim friends and colleagues and they said that Dogs are not allowed in Islam as they are seen to be dirty and cats are seen as clean. I did find these comments quite hurtful. I have also had cats too. I can tell you thar cats makes the most mess and do their business all around the house and the mess they make with the litter tray is very messy they step in the litter tray spreading it all around the house and clothing. Allhamdolillah i love my 3 dogs but they are only allowed outside in their own annexe. And i don't let them lick me at all. I hug n mess about with them but they are aware of their boundaries ❤

I am muslim and i have dog in my house but we take all precautions to keep the cleanliness in our house he is not allow to come in prayer room where we pray namaz and he claean everyday with dog wipes after his bathroom we all in family take nice hygiene care as a muslim ❤
We are a Muslim family too and our dog lives in the house too, he's a part of our family and don't allow it near our prayer mats and mashalla our house is very clean and so is our dog, I find it cruel to keep them chained up and segregated outside, we are of Pakistani origin and our son brought it home, my wife wasn't happy at first, but as time went on and she seen how much love they have to give and they're more loyal than humans, it just grew on us, and she's like our 3rd child now, as long as you keep them clean and when living inside dogs tend to be clean animals, it's just if she's clicked a part of our clothing we change our clothes before praying.

Please pay attention to the blessed Hadith 2:44 Whoever keeps a dog other than hunting and as a guard his reward shall be decreased. Meaning dogs must not be kept as pets. Cat's are ok as far as i am aware.
Besides unconditional love, unwavering, loyalty, obedience , cleanliness, because animals clean themselves for hours a day. A Dogs saliva has anti bacterial compounds. Dogs teach us impulse control. Lack of impulse control is what got Adam and Eve kicked out of Jennah. A well trained dog will not act on his impulses. Even a female in heat, he leaves it. A bone, does he act on jealousy, desire for the other dogs bone or possession, he leaves it. Ignores so many scents, distractions, desires. He never makes the excuse that he/ she can’t control himself/ herself. … he does not engage but escalates fights. Spend some time with a well trained dog. This was insightful. I don't have a dog. For the reason that the saliva is impure. Here's my apprehension: I live in super-hot Houston. The dog would need to live in the backyard. But it's too hot. He'll die in the heat. The other option is to keep it indoors. How would I prevent it's saliva from getting on the bed, sofa, floor etc? And poo...? It can be trained I guess, but how do I know it's 100% clean? I mean it doesn't use a lota right?

Well i noticed when Adhzan come ... All the Dog is Howling.. There are people that saying they follow the Adhzan or Saw Angel at that times.. It’s is relevant to state that some humans and pets such as cats, birds etc can carry diseases and more unclean and can be harmful to us . Eg a human with rabies you won’t want to be close to , so it is with dogs .A Simple scientific fact( Islam is truth and science is king) is that modern well cared for pets including dogs are healthy and good for our wellbeing - the relationship rewards that dogs give us are wonderful to experience with gods beautiful creation .From dogs as pets we learn love, responsibility , compassion , loyalty,kindness . It's nice to view this video with its contents but please introduce it to Arabs,where most of them are very brutal, cruel and inconsiderate towards animals. I was born and have lived in Arab countries these 70 years of mine. They bring into the country good breed animals, especially dogs, and simply leave them in the deserts to fend for themselves , starving everyday. Such beautiful dogs where people dream to own them, but cannot have them because they cannot afford. A ban should be against these Arab countries for bringing animals into the country. How come these Muslims don't about these scripts in their Holy Book?
You stated the Hadith instead of the Quran that dogs can be used for hunting. Fine. But why use a source that is controversial and has contradictions? Your argument would stand better if you use a source which is solid and without contradictions - that is Quran. Wherein it states the same and says that whatever your hunting dogs catches, is for you to eat. Now next you again used the Hadith stating that dogs saliva is bad yet another hadith you quoted that hunting dogs are fine. Quran never says anything about saliva because God has the infinite wisdom to know that once dogs hunt, they catch their prey through their mouth grabbing through their teeth, so dog's saliva has already entered the prey. If saliva is bad then hunting dogs wouldn't have been permitted. Hating dogs and finding them haram in hadith literature has been transposed from Judaism. Jewish people hate dogs and in their cultural religion, it is haram because it depicts the Egyptian deity Anubis. There is another verse in the Quran about the cave people who slept for centuries along with their dog. Where it seems that dog's presence did not remove the presence of God. The verse says that God was making them roll over from right to left and the dog stretching it's legs. Hadith contradicts the Quran and says whoever has dog in their house, angels won't enter. Oh yeah! then how come God itself was there with the cave people who had dog as their companion, let alone angels?

Well, this is not true entirely, arabic muslim countries don't like dogs, they are considered unclean animals and don't even appreciate them! Dogs are forbidden in houses and mosques, while cats are allowed everywhere! Arabs also don't care about dogs, I saw this in a few arabic countries. Dogs are appreciated in caucasian muslim states or in Balkans, but nowhere else!

Stray dogs used to urinate in the masjids during the Prophet’s time sallallahualayhiwasalam, and they only sprinkle water on it (no thorough cleansing or whatever). This is from the ahadith. Furthermore, those dogs would sometimes sleep in the masjids. Don’t make things up. A woman went to heaven and had all her sins forgiven just because she gave water to a thirsty dog. Dogs are beautiful creations of Allah and deserve to be treated with kindness and mercy. No need to compare them to cats. We’re supposed to treat them both kindly.

I speak to somr of my Muslim friends and colleagues and they said that Dogs are not allowed in Islam as they are seen to be dirty and cats are seen as clean. I did find these comments quite hurtful. I have also had cats too. I can tell you thar cats makes the most mess and do their business all around the house and the mess they make with the litter tray is very messy they step in the litter tray spreading it all around the house and clothing. We are a Muslim family too and our dog lives in the house too, he's a part of our family and don't allow it near our prayer mats and mashalla our house is very clean and so is our dog, I find it cruel to keep them chained up and segregated outside, we are of Pakistani origin and our son brought it home, my wife wasn't happy at first, but as time went on and she seen how much love they have to give and they're more loyal than humans, it just grew on us, and she's like our 3rd child now, as long as you keep them clean and when living inside dogs tend to be clean animals, it's just if she's clicked a part of our clothing we change our clothes before praying.
We need to change peoples perspective in Islam towards dogs, luckily the newer generation doesn't have that old school fashion of thought. As a community we are getting their.

Im looking to get a german shepherd when I get my surrey mansion inshaAllah, my brother has one as a guard dog at his business. Its so smart and is like a baby with us but when he percieves a threat he goes into guard mode. Its so gentle with kids too, just lies down showing its belly looking for rubs.

Please pay attention to the blessed Hadith 2:44 Whoever keeps a dog other than hunting and as a guard his reward shall be decreased. Meaning dogs must not be kept as pets. Cat's are ok as far as i am aware.
The Quran is a complete book , does Allah says that keeping dog as pet is a sin ? Not everyone follow a book that came 220 years after the prophet.

This was insightful. I don't have a dog. For the reason that the saliva is impure. Here's my apprehension: I live in super-hot Houston. The dog would need to live in the backyard. But it's too hot. He'll die in the heat. The other option is to keep it indoors. How would I prevent it's saliva from getting on the bed, sofa, floor etc? And poo...? It can be trained I guess, but how do I know it's 100% clean? I mean it doesn't use a lota right?

It should be noted that the 7th time should be washed with sand(earth) so that the utensil becomes pure and good to be used again by humans

It’s is relevant to state that some humans and pets such as cats, birds etc can carry diseases and more unclean and can be harmful to us . Eg a human with rabies you won’t want to be close to , so it is with dogs .A Simple scientific fact( Islam is truth and science is king) is that modern well cared for pets including dogs are healthy and good for our wellbeing - the relationship rewards that dogs give us are wonderful to experience with gods beautiful creation .From dogs as pets we learn love, responsibility , compassion , loyalty,kindness . angles do not enter the house with dogs inside it. the connection between dog owners today is abnormal. the prophet s.a.w would allow his cat to drink first from his bowl of water (for wudu) but the opposite is for dogs. we are suggested to clean utensils that dogs touched.

It's nice to view this video with its contents but please introduce it to Arabs,where most of them are very brutal, cruel and inconsiderate towards animals. I was born and have lived in Arab countries these 70 years of mine. They bring into the country good breed animals, especially dogs, and simply leave them in the deserts to fend for themselves , starving everyday. Such beautiful dogs where people dream to own them, but cannot have them because they cannot afford. A ban should be against these Arab countries for bringing animals into the country. How come these Muslims don't about these scripts in their Holy Book?

You stated the Hadith instead of the Quran that dogs can be used for hunting. Fine. But why use a source that is controversial and has contradictions? Your argument would stand better if you use a source which is solid and without contradictions - that is Quran. Wherein it states the same and says that whatever your hunting dogs catches, is for you to eat. Now next you again used the Hadith stating that dogs saliva is bad yet another hadith you quoted that hunting dogs are fine. Quran never says anything about saliva because God has the infinite wisdom to know that once dogs hunt, they catch their prey through their mouth grabbing through their teeth, so dog's saliva has already entered the prey. If saliva is bad then hunting dogs wouldn't have been permitted. Hating dogs and finding them haram in hadith literature has been transposed from Judaism. Jewish people hate dogs and in their cultural religion, it is haram because it depicts the Egyptian deity Anubis.
There is another verse in the Quran about the cave people who slept for centuries along with their dog. Where it seems that dog's presence did not remove the presence of God. The verse says that God was making them roll over from right to left and the dog stretching it's legs. Hadith contradicts the Quran and says whoever has dog in their house, angels won't enter. Oh yeah! then how come God itself was there with the cave people who had dog as their companion, let alone angels?

I went through phases in my belief from mainstream Muslim to an atheist to hadithist and to Quranist. I researched and wrote a book and published it too, called Turning Point. My journey ended with belief in God and much more. I refused to be in good books of all but I respect everyone's choices. Well, this is not true entirely, arabic muslim countries don't like dogs, they are considered unclean animals and don't even appreciate them! Dogs are forbidden in houses and mosques, while cats are allowed everywhere! Arabs also don't care about dogs, I saw this in a few arabic countries. Dogs are appreciated in caucasian muslim states or in Balkans, but nowhere else!

Dog Is Totally HARAAM In Islam, If A Dog Enters A Masjid, It Needs To Be Thoroughly Cleansed, Before Prayers Could Be Offered There! However, It Is A Totally Different Story With Cats, As They Are Considered Clean, And Can Be Seen Roaming Masjids Everywhere, Including The Ka'aba!
Stray dogs used to urinate in the masjids during the Prophet’s time sallallahualayhiwasalam, and they only sprinkle water on it (no thorough cleansing or whatever). This is from the ahadith. Furthermore, those dogs would sometimes sleep in the masjids. Don’t make things up. A woman went to heaven and had all her sins forgiven just because she gave water to a thirsty dog. Dogs are beautiful creations of Allah and deserve to be treated with kindness and mercy. No need to compare them to cats. We’re supposed to treat them both kindly.
