This might actually be my favorite Thor design. Every part of it is so cool, especially the rune design on the tunic. Glad the figure's pretty cool, too!
There is this old Diamond Select Thor figure with my fav look, the Modern comicbook look, from when he started to use the scale mail armor.
It was drawn by the same artist that make this new Herald of Galactus Thor.
I have that. I believe you’re talking about the same armour/look that Hasbro came out with as an SDCC 2012 exclusive that came in with Mjolnir packaging.

This figure is basically what a Marvel Legend SHOULD be giving us for the price point every single time. Great sculpt, decent articulation considering his costume, decent amount of accessories, good heroic proportions... I feel satisfied by this figure. It feels like a McFarlane figure with better articulation overall.

Actually it is current costume for thor and probably most strongest version..and he is not really working for galactus he is just working with him to take down a greater foe ..well at the end of the day he ended up killing galactus ...

I’ve heard that Galactus is a necessary force for the universe to survive. Thor might’ve screwed everyone over lol.
Pretty much Galactus was injured from a battle and Thor happened to be there and He made a deal with Thor to give Thor some of His cosmic powers yet giving Thor freedom if Thor helps Him out
My favorite look of Thor’s in the War of the Realms story. I think that’s when he became All Father. I don’t mind the look of Herald of Galactus but that WotR design reminds me of a younger King Thor with the Destroyer arm and missing eye. I wish they continued with that look. Hopefully we get that in figure form soon.

I think the scalemail Thor is called heroic age Thor. It is my favorite costume for Thor
I was on the fence as I was skipping the Controller wave, but with the current Amazon coupon I got him for just over $18 after tax. With Galactus on the way, I just had to get another herald for him.

You can tell by the thumbnail how Anthony regards the figure in the review. Snarky Title = he hates it, No Title = he is surprised that he doesn’t hate it, Fun Title = he loves it
You were describing Coipel/Oklahoma/New Asgard Thor. And yes, that's his best look, period.
I didn't like this look initially but it grew on me. The costume sometimes has shimmery or lenticular kinda where the cosmos in the shadows never look the same in each panel.
My favorite design is the Godbomb/butcher version. Keep hoping we'll see that. They did a repaint of the return of marvel legends Thor to be kinda similar but that body was all wrong. The Marvel Select version is great but I want a proper legends one.
I am also very happy with this release. I actually did not even notice the purple on the cape on mine until this review.
Based on the arc this design is based on he should have sparkle sparkle - kinda like what they did with Cosmic Ghost Rider. But I dont trust that they would have made the star pattern look that great so ill take the clean black look.
I wish they could have found a way to have the ravens attach to Thor - but that would obviously be a Luxury.
it'd be super cool to see this model painted with the speckled galaxy-esc pattern as seen in the original art. If I were to buy this figure I'd probably get some citadel paint and add them myself. It'd increase the overall look significantly!

My favorite is also the heroic age look but he more often then not looks cool in the comics and I do like this look a lot.
Trying to cut back and stick with characters/looks I care/have an attachment with, but this looks good and I saw this on Amazon, with a $5.75 coupon making it $18 and change, had to rewatch this make sure I won't regret it.
I went a little bit creative with how I use him. I gave him Shao Khan's Hammer and I use him as 'Donar, Evil German Thor' in my Dark Avengers. His outfit even looks sort of like a D. I have, with great difficulty, made a 22 member Dark Avengers made up of alternate counterparts, and that is not anything close to the actual Dark Avengers lineup. This Figure as Donar, Outback Hulk, Grey She Hulk, White Vision, Negative Spider-Man etc. Basically going for alternates that could be an Anti-Avengers.
It's a bit of false advertising. The packaging has the thor iteration with the constellation that he obtains after becoming imbued with the power cosmic. What we got is regular king thor before becoming herald. Answering your question about fav thor. I like the astonishing thor(Terrax baf wave). Beefy, blocky. I like this one a lot, too.

I found mine for $22 at my local target (I was surprised it wasn’t $30) and I do agree it’s a solid figure
My favorite costume for Thor is the chainmail with helmet, the Olivier Coipel Thor, from the Heroic Age.

My guess for way they sculpt the upper abdomen that way is to simulate a ribcage. When you're standing with your back straight, the bottom of your ribcage doesnt typically stick out. But then when you bend backwards, the bottom of your ribcage becomes visible

I really like this Thor design in all honesty. I wish it came with either a yelling head, or one with electricity coming from the eyes to round out the figure though.
I like the costume design on this Thor but I prefer the head with helmet on the old traditional Thor. I might both just to head swap. Definitely will have to get him a soft goods cape off Etsy.

they should've given him the waist swivel so the design on his torso won't look discontinued when posed doing a side ward swing :P
My favorite Thor design is the Marvel NOW Thor which is the one they used for the last Marvel Select Thor, it's simple but VERY effective in my opinion. My second favorite design is the one where he has this same suit but his arms are showing and he has the helmet.

I just purchased this figure for 19.99. I have wanted this figure since it came out. Just wanted to let the price drop a little bit. I just love this characters designs from the drawings and the concept. This power bump and the display of power just seems awesome. And I super love the ravens. They add this element of extreme power because he has these extra beings that grant him some sort of utility power to add to his already powerful design.
I really love this design. I think this or the young Thor from the Gorr the God butcher story are my favourite versions.
My favorite Thor is the one from the Straczynski/Coipel run, he's a nice mix of modern and classic.
Marvel needs to make more diamond/marvel select figures with better articulation. I like the 7 inch scale figure

Separate question: could you review some more figures from the Lightning Collection? Yes, most of them have similar if not the same engineering from one figure to the next, they did drop in quality after wave 1 and I know you personally don’t have much of an attachment to any Power Rangers outside of Mighty Morphin. But I am just asking cuz recently they’ve caught my eye and I’m curious if Hasbro’s made any notable improvements. I know I’m not a swaying patreon supporter but do you think you could review one or two from Rangers in Space, Time Force, Dino Thunder, and/or SPD? Thanks either way, Anthony!

I think my favourite version of thor is ultimate Thor without the cape and with the bare arms
After Heroic Age look ( I call the JMS Thor for the writer where the look first appeared) this is my favorite look. I never cared for "bare arms" Thor designs. I always felt with Thor being much more experienced in the superhero age of the Marvel comic universe, he would wear more armor and not be as arrogantly youthful.

For the gaming posters on here saying it’s from Fortnite…yes, but this design originated from the Donny Cates and Nick Klein run on the comics.
I think they're just joking about everything being "from Fortnite" now that everything is in Fortnite and young kids think it all originated there.

AC's question of the day: any version of Thor from side boob, thru Walt's to Herald. I put this product in my Top 10 and along with the 80th is the premiere Thor product from ML. It will look very appropriate with Galactus when it arrives.
