Something I hate is when people try to say its the cosplayer's fault for dressing a certain way and its like, no, the people around them should be able to resist the temptation, thought or urge to do something. It is the other person's responsibility to be respectful to a cosplayer no matter their gender, race or cosplay. There are characters that dress a certain way and cosplayers do that too because it is COSPLAY. Cosplay is not consent, be respectful.
It'd be one thing if it's a general thing in the world, asking for attention with clothing then acting like it doesn't exist, and of course there are perverts out there you should be aware of. However, you're going to a freaking COSPLAY CONVENTION, a place where people dress up for fun in a suitable environment. Your nothing BUT a creep for doing stuff like that.
I usually do mandelorian armor, and sometimes people like looking at the individual plates. But sometimes there's a guy that is too interested in the chest pices.
Even to those Deadpool cosplayers. Yes I get it, it's part of his character, he's very popular and that's why I love him. But still be respectful. Edit: love the message, love the video :)
awesome video, man if only more people though that way, here where i live we have a con once a year, it's not as big as comic con but it's good nonetheles, i've been attending to it for 5 years now and boy oh boy how many times i've seen cosplayers being harassed, mostly females though there were males that also suffered with that, and the form of harassment varies from hugging or picking the person off the ground without asking all the way to reaching for the person's privates while taking a picture, it's gotten so bad that it was necessary to have security walking around to try and prevent that, sadly, while it has gotten better it doesn't seem like it's going to stop anytime soon
I felt that on the last 1, I went to a con about 2 years ago and I was dressed as Albedo from overlord. I was with friends and my mother came along with us and this guy had came up and asked for a pic with me and I said sure, didn't think anything of it but then I felt him grope me and I pushed him away pretty hard out of shock sad part is when I did that he grabbed onto the dress and ripped the bottom....
Cosplay Against Bullying will people judge me for only making half my costume and the rest is from on line and bought from a shop cause I am only going to my second con
heidi fairgrieve I haven't made my costumes. So even if anyone judges you, you don't need anyone to approve of your costumes. Do what you want and ask for approval from yourself
Cosplay Against Bullying cause I was only at a local con and am still a little nervous 😩 and thanks 🙏 for the awesome advice would you be interested in a con vlog
this is why we started The Cosplayer Force cause cosplay is for everyone and showing respect for everyone no matter who they are is what The Cosplayer Force is all about, not to mention we have quite the team of amazingly great men and women cosplayers who have all earned the right to be shown the upmost respect.
I’m about to cosplay despair Mikan Tsumiki and usually when the cosplay is rather explicit or skimpy I alter to a more modest version because I’ll be honest I’m not going to spend $30-$40 for a slab of fabric for the torso area to be covered and that area only and not have it really cover anything else, but also I’m too insecure with my body and I don’t want to disturb anyone with my back fat 😂
I agree with everyone apart from the woman saying people should not look at her. It's obviously creepy to stare at someone but if you are dressed up ion a costume people are going to look at you. You don't own the space you are in and if you don't want people to look at you dressed in a revealing outfit then don't wear a revealing outfit in public. Also, looking at someone is an impulse, you don't think about it first. If a person in a costume walks past you are going to look them up and don before you even think about it. The idea that we are expected to get concent before looking at other humans in public is pretty absurd.
Yeah, that annoyed me. I was a cashier clerk for a while, and I was harassed a lot because lo and behold, guys are apparently perverts even though the way the counter is set up it makes me look at chests most of the time cause that's where the merchandise I'm scanning is. It's this insane provledge that girls have that just aggravates me to no end and makes me wish I wasn't a guy so I wouldn't have to deal with being harassed and simultaneously being accused of harassment.
It absolutely is consent when you are dressed explicitly. Your intent was to receive attention, it was your goal, and if the character was sexual in nature that's what gravitated you to the character. The only reason someone would use the "cosplay is not consent" card is to cover up and deflect the whole fact that dressing provocatively and looking thirsty is frowned upon
If someone wants to cosplay a character and that character happens to be in revealing clothing they're allowed to. People are allowed to feel good for looking good. And if they want attention there's nothing wrong with that. But a random slimeball that thinks these people are automatically giving consent is giving off mad grapist vibes.

Sometimes people just need a lesson in manners and etiquette
That third person who was interviewed was lovely!
Even to those Deadpool cosplayers. Yes I get it, it's part of his character, he's very popular and that's why I love him. But still be respectful.

Cosplay Against Bullying the people are just insecure
Speaking about respectful, how respectful is it to walk around semi naked just because you're VERY WELL aware how much more attention you'll get?
you're in a cosplay environment. get over yourself
