Ganondorf is deadset to *KILL Link* outright. I love that TOTK showcases the downright most BRUTAL variant of Ganondorf we've come to see as the franchise has evolved
@@TylerHolt-hh5cfGiven Link's unbelievably pathetic showing in the prologue, I think Ganondorf had a good reason to assume that Link wasn't someone he'd need to chase down.
Ganondorf: Do not look away. You witness a king's revival... And the birth of his new world..! Ancient Hero Link: [Two voices overlapping] All we see... Is a coward, disguising himself in unearned strength. Link crawled from his lowest lows after you took his arm and ravaged him with that ghastly substance you call Gloom. There is a reason why Rauru, Sonia, the Sages, King Rhoam, the Champions, and above all others, Zelda placed their faiths in him. But the Ancient Hero had the most faith in Link. For Link is the Hero's most recent incarnation! Ganondorf... You and I have fought each other across thousands of years, both of us in different forms, sometimes under different names... But each time, our duels led to the same result; your defeat. This time will not be any different! [PHASE TWO] Ganondorf: I had almost forgotten the thrill of battle... That feeling as blood SURGES in my veins... And I am not even nearing the limits of my power! Ancient Hero Link: We admit, the Ancient Hero feels... Rather rusty as well. After Link had slept for 100 years, longer than the Hero had ever gone without being reincarnated and honing his skills anew, he had atrophied and eventually, fallen asleep in the world of spirits. But this reawakening, and to fight such a powerful foe... It is... Quite refreshing for the Hero. Ganondorf: [Transforms into the Demon King] Heheheheheheh... Enjoy these final moments... I will be taking far more than your arm this time... Ancient Hero Link: By all means, try it, Ganondorf. But will you succeed? I think not... After all, in addition to our Master Sword being strengthened by the Light Dragon for millennia, it has been fused with the sharpest horn from your strongest monster. Knowing how its original form worked, and how the smallest shard of the blade was enough to make your flesh bubble away... How long will you last? Two minutes? One? Perhaps not even a single minute? We're about to find out... [MID-PHASE TWO] Ancient Hero Link: Gyaah!! Ganondorf, you coward... You have the gall to wound the sages, knowing that you cannot fight us at full power, even if you brag about being something as powerful as a "Demon King"..? Pathetic. The Goddess Hylia blesses the two of us in the form, and ensures our victory. However... Not even she will spare you once we finish you... [Ancient Hero Link's eyes glow with a blue-green flame, as the Master Sword's shine illuminates the entire chamber... The true fight begins.] [Ancient Hero Link gasps as Ganondorf dodges their Flurry Rush] Ancient Hero Link: Dodging MY flurry rush?! You are a bit stronger than I expected... However, your unholy strength... WILL NOT SAVE YOU!! [Blue and green wisps of energy swirl around Ancient Hero Link as they hit the apex of their abilities.] [PHASE 3] Ganondorf: My body... My mind... EVERYTHING!! I'll sacrifice it all to destroy you... And cast this world into *_ETERNAL NIGHT!!_* [Ganondorf eats Sonia's Secret Stone.] Ancient Hero Link: No... GANONDOOOORF!! THAT STONE WAS NOT YOURS TO TAKE... AND YOU DISGRACE SONIA BY EATING *_HER_* SECRET STONE?! *That does it... MERCY WAS NEVER AN OPTION WHEN FACING YOU. I WILL RELISH IN YOUR AGONY AS YOU PERISH ONCE AND FOR ALL...* [Demon Dragon scoops Ancient Hero Link up in its mouth.] Ancient Hero Link: HNNGHH!! RELEASE ME, VILE CREATURE!! [They attempt to stab into the Demon Dragon's maw, only to have the Master Sword's blade slide against the beast's scales.] [The Light Dragon comes to Ancient Hero Link's aid, allowing them to perch atop her head.] Ancient Hero Link: This is it... The finale. I will make this as painful for you as I possibly can, Demon Dragon...

@@katherinecheng9360all the three other dragons are significantly larger than Zelda if you actually stand on their backs and compare them. Their backs are like 2 times wider than Zelda. Zelda is just an elegant petite baby🥹
This version of Ganondorf has to be the closest to the demon Demise. Both are proud warriors who revel in combat and battling worthy opponents. Both sought to use purely brute force when taking the land for their own. Both are doing what they are doing for seemingly no reason other than their evil tendencies. Also just look at Ganondorf’s powered up form here and tell me that it doesn’t look like Demise. This version of Ganondorf is literally Demise given human flesh. I say this because the Ganondorf from OOT mainly relied on his intelligence to get what he wanted rather than brute force as he attacked key figures and tore the kingdom down from the inside. This Ganondorf clearly don’t play like that as he attacked pretty much immediately, taking the sacred stone for himself and gaining his former glory as the demon Demise. While Ganondorf was sealed underneath the castle his power would leak out and he would semi reincarnate into Ganondorf from OOT who rather than seeking the stones sought the Triforce which was Demise’s original goal though he did it in a way that didn’t mean total war. This would also explain why this Ganon doesn’t know about Link despite other Ganons battling many generations of Links yet Ganondorf here is seeing Link as a new opponent. The Ganondorf in tears of the kingdom is the first reincarnation of Demise and after him came OOT Ganon and he either defeats Link and becomes a beast with the full triforce at his disposal, loses to link and gets sealed only to come back decades later to resume his terror on hyrule, or the battle in OOT never happens and he is put to execution where he promptly breaks free and is banished to the twilight realm. This version of Ganon that breaks the timeline dies in every timeline he is in as he dies in the original Zelda in the fallen timeline, Twilight Princess in the child timeline, and Wind Waker in the adult timeline. The Ganon we see in TOTK is still sealed as all of the events transpiring happen only to be freed when Zelda and Link go down underneath the castle and break the seal.
I really feel like the dialogue should be different when you have the ancient hero armor. They could make it so Ganondorf can recall things from his calamity version and say something along the lines of "It's you? No... A pity, that would have been a worthy foe."
"Oh, so Calamity Ganon v2 is back? Okay, whatever, I'll just ignore the big creepy black-pink dragon/omen of doom casually flying around in the sky and get back to selling diamond jewelry that are supposed to defend you against giant murder machines that were originally meant to fight the giant creepy dragon in the sky but somehow turned against us. Oh well."
Ganondorf: It would’ve been more… SATISFYING to overcome a worthy foe Link takes out Master sword (attached to a silver lynel horn): You took the words right out of my mouth
@@albertocarrilho5839 It's actually true. The game itself tells us that Calamity Ganon was just Ganondorf's rage and anger in pure form trying to weaken the seal of the castle so that he could escape.

@@copyninja01 It goes back as far as A Link to the Past. The name most often used for that aspect of Ganon/Ganondorf boss fights is "Dead Man's Volley".
If that is the same Ganondorf as the one from Ocarina of Time then I don't think that there is a villain more desperate to conquer or destroy the world than him.

I love the dialogue that Nintendo gave Ganondorf for this fight. It makes you, as the player, realize that Ganondorf isn't trying to beat Link, oh no no no.
Ganondorf is deadset to *KILL Link* outright. I love that TOTK showcases the downright most BRUTAL variant of Ganondorf we've come to see as the franchise has evolved
Oh yeah. He's not trying to just defeat you. He wants you dead, brutally
Too bad he sat on his ass while we killed all his servants. Just saying, his path would have been clear of obstacles, if he fought sooner.
@@TylerHolt-hh5cfGiven Link's unbelievably pathetic showing in the prologue, I think Ganondorf had a good reason to assume that Link wasn't someone he'd need to chase down.
@@TylerHolt-hh5cf That's what the Gloom hands and Phantom Ganon were for
Ganondorf: Do not look away.
[PHASE TWO]
Ganondorf: I had almost forgotten the thrill of battle...
[MID-PHASE TWO]
Ancient Hero Link: Gyaah!! The true fight begins.]
[Ancient Hero Link gasps as Ganondorf dodges their Flurry Rush]
Ancient Hero Link: Dodging MY flurry rush?! You are a bit stronger than I expected... However, your unholy strength... WILL NOT SAVE YOU!! [Blue and green wisps of energy swirl around Ancient Hero Link as they hit the apex of their abilities.]
[PHASE 3]
Ganondorf: My body... My mind... EVERYTHING!! I'll sacrifice it all to destroy you... And cast this world into *_ETERNAL NIGHT!!_* [Ganondorf eats Sonia's Secret Stone.]
Ancient Hero Link: No... GANONDOOOORF!! THAT STONE WAS NOT YOURS TO TAKE... AND YOU DISGRACE SONIA BY EATING *_HER_* SECRET STONE?! *That does it... MERCY WAS NEVER AN OPTION WHEN FACING YOU. I WILL RELISH IN YOUR AGONY AS YOU PERISH ONCE AND FOR ALL...*
[Demon Dragon scoops Ancient Hero Link up in its mouth.]
Ancient Hero Link: HNNGHH!! RELEASE ME, VILE CREATURE!! [They attempt to stab into the Demon Dragon's maw, only to have the Master Sword's blade slide against the beast's scales.]
[The Light Dragon comes to Ancient Hero Link's aid, allowing them to perch atop her head.]
Ancient Hero Link: This is it... The finale. I will make this as painful for you as I possibly can, Demon Dragon...
I really appreciate the time put into this.
bro cooked and it was pretty good
I really love how the ending looks here. Link wearing the Ancient Hero’s Aspect putting the Master Sword back in it’s sheath while also looking over that Hyrule is now safe along with the gold details around to shine more is just so beautiful.
4:02 “i’ll be taking far more than your arm this time” quite a bold statement considering he has not touched link a single time this whole fight
I think this is one of my most favorite boss battles in all of video games
I think it’s my favorite finale in a video game.
Definitely!
Does anyone else know that you can actually send back the malice attacks ganondorf uses for his 3rd phase with the master sword and also his bow attacks
I learned that Recently before I was parrying or dodging
Purple?
Yep. Discovered it on my second attempt. Really awesome when you do a spin attack on the one circling you.
I knew there had to be energy tennis in there somewhere!
Pretty sure you can only do that with an empty bottle.
Zelda: *only puts stone in mouth*
Ganondorf: *shoves half of his arm down his throat and maybe took a few fingers with it*
Spoilers:
At the end of the battle, you are no longer wearing the Ancient Hero's Aspect and are just in your briefs. I learned that just recently thinking Zelfa would freak out seeing me as a Zonai-Hylian Hybrid.
I still get chills everytime Zelda comes zooming over when Ganon tranforms into a dragon. I've fought Ganondorf 7 times now and I still get the chills.
the music tho
she’s small compared to the demon dragon. But i guess the other three dragons are also small compared to ganon? They’re almost the size of zelda. I guess it’s because they are the embodiment of goddesses..
@@katherinecheng9360all the three other dragons are significantly larger than Zelda if you actually stand on their backs and compare them. Their backs are like 2 times wider than Zelda. Zelda is just an elegant petite baby🥹
Same this game really made me shed tears
The final fight as if it's the God's fighting! Incredible storytelling by Nintendo for this masterpiece!
fr it’s like playing out a really old myth. The Legend of Zelda has a new meaning.
Ganondorf: You can’t stop me Link
Link: *dons ancient hero armor*
Ganondorf: WHAT IN THE NAME OF HYLIA
I feel like there should be a "Majora's Mask" era transformation sequence when you put that armor on. But I see you Terminal Montage. I see you.
I really feel like the dialogue should be different when you have the ancient hero armor. They could make it so Ganondorf can recall things from his calamity version and say something along the lines of "It's you? No... A pity, that would have been a worthy foe."

“A worthy foe” ….sir link has been spanking you since the 90’s bro

The hylians, rito, goron, zora, and Gerudo are probably thinking “WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING” during the demon dragon fight
"Ah. Doomsday. Business as usual, then."
If anything it’s a little less scary than the massive pig shooting lasers across the world in BoTW. Dragondorf kinda just flies around in the sky
Oh well."
Ganondorf: It would’ve been more… SATISFYING to overcome a worthy foe
Link takes out Master sword (attached to a silver lynel horn): You took the words right out of my mouth
I like how BoTW and ToTK were not about the triforce pieces. It was just about ganondorf’s need for power.
Killing an immortal dragon = lethal laser weapon.
16:39 I can imagine everyone at Lookout Landing would be like “WTF?!? THAT’S A BIGGEST EXPLOSION FROM THIS VIEW!”
8:05 i thought Ganondorf was going to turn into Calamity Ganon
Would've been pretty cool ngl. Had a kickass design in its floaty ghostlike draconic form
Calamity Ganon was basically just a small amount of power leaking from Ganondorf’s sealed body. He’s far stronger in this game.
@@albertocarrilho5839 well calamity ganon was very easy so idk he could be right
@@albertocarrilho5839 It's actually true. The game itself tells us that Calamity Ganon was just Ganondorf's rage and anger in pure form trying to weaken the seal of the castle so that he could escape.
Wow! Well done!
The Dragon Ganondorf really felt like fighting Beth, the final boss in Guardian Tales. Practically the same voice line and dragon form.

Is link a reincarnation of that dude or not?
It means in lore we always thought there was a princess, the hero, and ganondorf and the hero and princess were always hylian and ganondorf is a gerudo. This outfit changes the lore somewhat and confirms that the hero aka link doesn't always have to be a hylian.

I'm not sure if many people know this, but you can use the mastersword to send those fire ball attacks back at him. It's a parry strike like the OoT battle.
Did you know that you can hit some of ganons weird gloom projectiles back at him with the master sword?
Sorry if you already know this, but the red fire orbs that Ganon spits out can actually be deflected back via spin attack or well timed slash, kinda like the Windwaker. Just thought you’d like to know. Love your videos, keep up the amazing work!

If that is the same Ganondorf as the one from Ocarina of Time then I don't think that there is a villain more desperate to conquer or destroy the world than him.
No, this is the same Demon King that SS talked about that Hylia fought, but TOTK reveals the details behind that story and the Imprisoning War itself.
@@frederickglass1583 hylia never fought this ganondorf I think this was just the first ganondorf before ocarina of time
I might be wrong, but I think that botw and totk take place at least 10,000 years after the final games in each separate timeline, hence why they all converge in botw. This is a new Ganondorf I believe, one different from the ones in ocarina of time, wind waker, and twilight princess.
@@TheEpicpokefan no, this is comfirmed in-game to be the Demon King that was foretold of in Skyward Sword. They make that apparent in the games intro sequence referring to the *Imprisoning War*
@@frederickglass1583 incorrect. More so this is the first and original incarnation of Denise's hatred. He is the original Ganondorf. And all of Ganons and Ganondorfs who appeared after him are just cheap knock offs. This Ganondorf is the one who was around during Hyrule's founding. The demon who Hylia fought was Demise. The original Demon King who is responsible for creating Demon King Ganondorf.
No joke i really like this outfit. You can literally become an Avatar. But what bothers me is that his expression just wont change at all, which sadly downgrades it...
Let's hope we get an Update for that or maybe something in a DLC
Yeah, it’s wierd. We know they can do something similiar with the Dark Link and Fierce Diety sets so it’s odd they didn’t do it for Zonai Link.

A tip is to, if possible shoot gibdo bones in his face with a strong bow. Trust me, it melts his health bar like butter.
“I beat your malice infused ass ONCE what makes you think I can’t do it again”

This fight really made me go like "Oh my God, now what will I do?" as the fight increased its scale. It's been ages since a game sequence made me feel that way.
I love it when he drinks a glass of water and rehydrated himself
I imaged there would be some exclusive dialogue if you fought Ganondorf with the hero’s aspect on, would have been a fun easter egg.
Ganon is so pitiful🥹He is so weak and persistent, and the red dragon is so cute.
After totk, there is no excuse for Link and Ganondorf having generic/uninspiring movesets, Ganondorf can control gloom and create swords, clubs, spears and even bows. While link can fuse different materials to the master sword (bow, and sheild) to turn it into completely different weapons, not mention every other ability Link has and the zonai devices!
This Ganondorf will definitely be on a future Death Battle.
1:32 Aren't the goddesses the ones that created the world? How can Ganondorf affirmed how the world should have been?
Because the Demon King always exist to try and throw the world the Goddesses created into darkness. While Hylia and by extention the Royal Family of Hyrule who all have the blood of the Goddess. He’s the hero portrayed in the mural on impa’s wall from 10000 years ago. The first calamity, I’m pretty sure
12:09 i didn't even know those gloom-fireballs deleted hearts just like some of Ganondorf's other attacks (granted you almost never get hit by the things)

So I guess we're just going to gloss over the fact that when Ganondorf died, he vaporized like half of central Hyrule...
Lol I was half expecting Lookout Landing to be a huge hole in the ground
Ganondorf made it from pig to dragon, respect.
Gannondorf in tears of the kingdom is just Dio Brando 2.0

Seeing link in the ancient armor, makes you wonder if they planned to use that for the story or if it was only for giggles. It would be cool if they make another sequel to age of calamity & they plan to use it story wise, like instead of turning into the dragon when you eat the stone. For link he just turns into the ancient hero kinda like how in twilight princess he turned into a wolf, instead to fight ganondorf.
I know I wasn’t the only one scared when I lost a heart fighting Ganondorf
Ganondorf be like: This isn’t even my final form yet!

I really wish the Ancient Hero set had facial animations, it would've made cutscenes with it on even better.
One thing about Ganondorf from Tears of the Kingdom is that he’s already got his mind made up about defeating Link and ruling Hyrule, even if it means eating the Secret Stone and losing his own body and mind as a result.
I definitely want to purchase a Switch just for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom and be invested in the full story and lore.
