as a mini 4wd player you should change your magnets to silver magnet and change your bushings to bearings, if you want it to be strong and super fast. u need 2x chargeable battery with 2900mah. btw buy a new soldering tip

#1:motor will heat up like hell which might damage the core because this guy used thicker wire.
#2:the model he used is a simple DC motor which are cheap and if you do apply this trick brushes won't support high speed for longer durations and may get damaged destroying the whole motor.

An equation that shows how speed relates to the current and number of turns is needed to start. You reduced the number of turns. Reduced the resistance. As a direct result more current in a bigger wire. No analysis of how much faster. No analysis of the torque. How can you recommend this without saying what is lost and what is gained in the operation.
And yes I agree with the comments below. Overheating and problems shortly due to changing one item in a Chinese budget motor. Nothing is more beefy than it needs to be so something will fail.

No a bigger wire will heat up more. The resistance would drop and current increase. Heat is based on current squared so it increases a lot faster than the drop in resistance.
By the way these smaller motors generally do not have bearings but bushings.
fact with same battery a larger winding would not heat up more... the battery would drain faster and heat up not the winding... there is no way the winding being biger would give the battery more amps lol... u make no sense, also type of batt could change this 100%
Trust me I am right on this. Especially since its a battery and not a switch mode power source. If its a really cheap battery he may get 5A max. An upper end battery can give 20A max. There is no way the windings he took out was doing more than a few hundred mA. The battery can and will deliver a lot more amps than was being taken by the original windings.
Yes the battery would heat up and could have exploded due the current draw and internal resistance. He didn't leave it on long enough for us to see that fun part.
Anyway if you don't believe me fine. Feel free to try his method and actually measure it.
with your logic... it would have over heated faster with the smaller windings same exact batt... the battery will give out whats demanded of it... its not a pump it gives whats taken aka ohms law ....FACT smaller wire heats up with to many amps.... so the smaller windings know not to pull to much from the same battery? cmon now... thats like dumb ass car mechs saying if u replace your car battery with a larger cranking amp it will fry your wires.... NOPE u just have more amps if needed... gona add to that im into massive car audio and when u upgrade car battery to a high ass cranking amp or run 5-10 batts in parr to up amps u have to have a bigger alt if u plan to draw massive amps 400+....also the big 4 00g ofc copper the whole 9 but ya car audio people know this ...

The bushings won`t support that kind of speed for too long.
You will need to replace them for bearings.
doesn't specify it is epoxy coated magnet wire, doesn't tell about windings heating up and throwing regular lead solder everywhere inside the motor, doesn't tell about need of re-balancing the armature. I know this stuff.

its fucking copper wire used in transformers motors and preety much everything it is coated with insulation, you see him scraping it in the video, he even tells about the proper gauge of wire...for christ sake it is a toy motor and he is playing with it he is not gonna launch a rocket or build a nuclear warhead. "oh he is throwing solder everywhere" oh and it regular lead solder blaaarghh" dude he could spit on the wire and use duct tape, the motor would still run, i can make a motor from a fucking wine cork some nails and few meters of wire.

Don't use a knife to cut the windings off while holding it. If you're going to use a knife put it in a vise first. I learned this the hard way.
