I tried doing this for individual people like my mom and grandma. However, when I tried setting up a specific ringtone for them. It plays the one that I have set in settings. How do I go about making it to where the settings ringtone doesn’t play. And the individual ones can.

Hello... Not sure what you are referring to. If you hit the "Subscribe" button on my videos, that simply means that RUclips will let you know (when you're on the RUclips site) when I publish a new video. Hope that helps...
I don't know much about android... I can say that iPhones (so maybe android, too) have something in Settings that allows different tones for different types of messages.
I've done some searching on that question, and it seems (unfortunately) the answer is no, you can't. Ring tones and text tones can be assigned to individual people, not to groups... at least at this time. Great idea, thought!

i hate it when someone has the texttone i assigned my toxic ex. it's popcorn. people who like this tone should not. maybe try getting a unique tone. im tired of getting the PTSDs in the dang TJs MAXXs
Hmmm... Are you using a super-old iPhone? Maybe it needs a software update? All iPhones are the same, software-wise. I just re-checked my iPhone (with the latest iOS version) and it works the same as in the video. Can you be more specific about what U R seeing? I'll try to help...
