" Night Fever " é uma canção escrita e interpretada pelos Bee Gees . Ela apareceu pela primeira vez na trilha sonora de Saturday Night Fever da RSO Records. Eles começaram a grava-la em abril de 1977 na França e a terminaram em setembro do mesmo ano.
Quando o empresário dos Bee Gees, Robert Stigwood, estava produzindo um filme sobre uma cena disco de Nova York , o título provisório para o filme na época era Saturday Night . Stigwood pediu ao grupo para escrever uma música usando esse nome como título, mas eles já tinham escrito uma música chamada "Night Fever", então o grupo convenceu Stigwood a usa-la e mudar o filme para Saturday Night Fever.
A letra fala sobre a excitação que se espalha pelo ar durante a noite, sugerindo que algo significativo está acontecendo e que pode ser compartilhado e 'roubado' - no sentido de se apropriar daquele momento e torná-lo seu.
A 'doce mulher da cidade' mencionada na música pode ser interpretada como uma metáfora para a própria noite, que com seu brilho e promessa de aventura, controla a mente e a alma. A repetição do refrão 'Night fever, night fever, we know how to do it' reforça a ideia de que eles estão familiarizados com a noite e sabem como aproveitar ao máximo o calor que ela traz.
