The guy in the Armada seems like one cool ass dude. Not only did he handle the “bump” like a champ but he just all around had a great attitude.
Girl needs a booster seat! That was scary. I expected the dude to demand a reimbursement for that damage, he was very forgiving.btw I live in norway and know Do it for dale :)

Thanks for the videos. They let me vicariously experience the southwest again. I lived in N. AZ about 30 years ago. I had a 4x4 PU that I used to explore and camp with. It's a shame that now after watching your videos I know more about airing down and off road driving than I did when I was doing it. I live in Kentucky now.

Man, that sand in the first recovery was super soft. You can tell by the tracks from the Aramada. And the grooming tips from Mom are priceless. 😀

The camera work was excellent. [helped by the gorgeous scenery around that Nissan recovery--the folks who own that property are very fortunate]

I have caught myself finding rocks like that also. Usually towards the end of a 4 wheeling day. The jolt definitely awakened me and stopped me from doing it again.
Great job to all of you. This is my favorite channel to watch. Can't wait to see the corvair in action when you get it done. And lizzy jumping rocks while rescuing a stuck vehicle is a prerequisite for the job. I have done it multiple times here in arizona.

That Armada is a rental and the guy had rental insurance. I doubt the rental company would even bother fixing that.
@@dustyodyssey not certain you can assume he had insurance; if not they will go after both the renter and Matt's towing. First rule of litigation; sue everyone and sort it out later. Worked at avis and at a law firm surrogating issues just like this,
Matt (Winder) should be paying. The reason they always put someone in the drivers seat is because of insurance reasons
most recovery's start with a not responsible for damage wavier singed on arrival . it's not matt's fault dude took a street suv to the sand

I know how Lizzy feels right now. That was me last week and I had to go back to work to finish a bike for a customer. Stand by your promises. My Dad always told me that. Way to go Lizzy. You rock. Dear off-roaders, when off-road in soft sand, make sure that you deflate the tires and keep the tire pressure between 10 to 15 psi. The car will drive very smoothly and easily and not sink in the sand. If you try this, give a like. Good luck.
Matt has said he runs about 9 psi in the Jeep, but I wouldn't go that low without a bead locker. Maybe to get out in an emergency.

@@KenLyns I'm sure they are. Independent front suspension isn't indestructible though and I bet that thing is heavy. I believe those have independent rear suspension instead of a solid axle?
If my FJ cruiser took that hard of a hit, I would definitely get the alignment checked.

You’ve totally inspired me to make my taco into a lightweight recovery unit, gonna hook her up with Matt in mind, been studying the setup and love it except for the non mounted winch? But the red Taco recovery unit is coming! Gonna have to comb the Long Island beaches looking for stuck mofos! 2021 Franks Off-road Recovery unit is on the way! Gonna be ordering my Matt’s recovery rope soon!

Damn, all the people ripping on Lizzy for making a mistake as if they have never made a mistake before. Shit happens. At least she has a good attitude. It's a teachable moment. We are ALL apprentices as some point.
For what it's worth, sand was flying everywhere, the rock is the same colour as the sand, and it wasn't a long tow rope. The Armada is bigger than the banana, so maybe what the banana can squeeze through isn't the same as what the big Nissan can. Plus, guys gotta give it some speed to pull it through the sand and the track is bumpy as hell. Doesn't give much time for the tow driver to react to a rock on the side of the trail in the best of conditions, now add visibility and dynamic friction.
SHIT HAPPENS. But sure, go ahead, rip on Lizzy and Matt if it makes you feel better.

No, that sounds entirely to reasonable for the internet.
Any time one takes a vehicle off of a maintained public road onto an off road trail, there is typically an increased chance of vehicle damage. Be it driving on the trail or in this case stuck and being towed out, the vehicle owner took a calculated risk to venture out and this is what can happen. That rock was right there jutting out of the edge of that narrow section of trail, that's what off road trails are all about, unpredictability. I get the impression this vehicle owner knew the risks and was willing to take them, and that is totally fine and he may find out his insurance won't cover off road damage but again if you play you have to be willing to pay rather then point fingers at others for your own choices ( as per some of the prior comments wanting to deflect the damage onto someone else ).
Lizzie wasn’t concentrating on the road ahead, plus she is too short for that big SUV.
She's just not ready for this stuff yet, still a kid.

Ahh, Yes. The locals called it Little Sands. I've been there many times. Great spot to ride. If one continues NE in that canyon, you can get to the trails in the Barracks area. I think that canyon leads to trail 17.

@@UmmCarl nah the armada is its own model nowadays, back in the early 2000s and late 90s the armada was a top trim pathfinder but not anymore. (Don’t quote me on that last part)
